This hotel was close to Hua Lamphong train station as the name suggests. It was perfect for us, as the night before we stayed in a poor hotel. This hotel was clean, modern and nice. It had rooms with clean beds and air con and tv and ensuite - hot water etc. Very impressed. They also helpful staff with directions etc and had a room to watch dvds in - like a cinema room. They also had a nice bar but did not get a chance to use. very nice stay.

Very helpful staff, reasonable room for the money and location (we wanted easy access to the train station). Short walk to Chinatown as well!

Note for train travellers, it is literally next to a subway entrance which you can take to get underneath the busy road and into Hua Lamphong station - much more pleasant then trying to cross the road! They will also mind your bags for 20 baht a day if your train does not leave till after checkout.

We spent 4 nights at the hotel and there are a few points that one should consider before choosing it. On the positive side, the location is excellent – central, easy to reach with public transport and strategically positioned between the old (Chinatown) and the very new (Siam) – and the rooms are clean and spacious. On the negative side, though, the rooms are very noisy (the traffic on the main road is horrendous and the walls are paper thin), we heard some strange noises coming from the walls (like there were mice nesting in there) and on a Sunday morning they cut the water without advising us (we had to go and ask, and the water shortage lasted a long time). Also, there are almost no restaurants in the immediate vicinity and the restaurant within the hotel is expensive (not to mention that the portions are very small). Our stay was still relatively pleasant but I would not recommend this hotel.

Very convenient
Go under subway to mrt
Or via exit 2 to country stations and Don Muang airport
Adequately clean, hot water good
Morning coffee good too, did not eat in cafe
Modest price so hardly a place for romance in style but fine for what it is

Clean, quiet, safe and good location at a budget price. MRT (Metro 0.70$-1.00$) station right outside of the hotel allowing you to connect with BTS Skytrain (0.90$) as well. Central train station 200 meters across the street to get around and outside the country. Several convenient bus (0.45$) routes stop 10 meters from hotel. A short taxi (2.50$) or tuk-tuk (5.00$) ride to Khao San Rd. As good as it gets if you need to move a lot around the city. Good restaurants and street food on main and surrounding streets and a 10 minute walk to Chinatown for an even more impressive food selection and markets.

Room Tip: room 205 was a single bed with shower, toilet, cable Tv and Safety deposit box. Fairly quiet

As other reviewers have noted, this hostel is new, excellently located and a good bargain. This review reminds the unwary traveler of another aspect of travel in a strange country, that probably applies to all establishments, not just the one under review. If, for any reason, you find yourself in a quarrel with the management, it can get very scary, very fast. And since you probably don't know the local language and regulations, you will imagine the worst. The fuse of the management in Hua Lamphong was, in my case, a very short one, and I was threatened with Police action almost at the start of the argument. It made my blood run cold then, and even now would make me think twice about staying anywhere that I could not argue my case with the police in the local language. We foreign travelers are never as far as we would like to think, from being Locked Up Abroad.

Room Tip: Lift is slow, so a lower floor might be quicker

Stayed here after a long haul flight to Bangkok. Super easy to find, it's the last stop if you travel on their underground (MRT) it's also a 30 second walk to the main train station for travelling around the adjoining Asian countries (We got the train to the Poipet border for Cambodia)! The staff are really friendly and helpful, giving good directions and places to visit. Clean rooms, nice common room and if you're feeling lazy then they do good food too :) it was a little noisy at night, but that's to be expected in a capital city. We were so tired from the flights that it didn't affect us much though. Good value for money too
