“Close to everything in Chinatown”
Reviewed 21 March 2013 via mobile

If you're wanting somewhere comfy away from the hustle and bustle of the streets, Check Inn Chinatown is for you. With good sized aircon rooms, ensuite bathroom and western toilets, this is a bargain. Walking down either lanes that lead to the hotel, you have all sorts of food & shopping at your doorstep but if you just want to hang in and watch movies there is a full functioning kitchenette in the room. It can be a little disorienting at first, but once you get your bearings you're fine - locals & taxis are able to give you a good direction. I was on foot for my 3 days in Bangkok and it was a perfect base to start at. If you're in a walking mood, you can reach just about every shopping/tourist/drinking place you've ever heard of, and stumble across the lesser known ones along the way. Would come back again just to get into the Chinatown feel. 24 hour security reception and other amenities make for a very comfortable place to stay.

Stayed in Bangkok for the first night of my Thailand trip so just needed a cheap place to stay and this did the trick. It was clean but service wasn't great because of the staffs lacking English skills. The area was fun to explore for the night but I wouldn't stay here for more than one night because its not close to any good nightlife etc. I am back in Bangkok at the end of my trip for a couple nights and decided to book somewhere in Silom.

Great and inexpensive place. Quite far from subway, but taxi can easily solve this problem. Great thai restaurant with wonderful fruit shakes is near it, on Charoenkrung Road. Personal were responsive. We were even able to check in at 1 am. But this would require payment for one more night.

Stayed for two nights - was surprised at how equipped the rooms were at this price range. TV, kitchenette, air-con, fridge, safe. Can't think of anything else we could have needed. Bed was good also.

Some people complain about the size of hotel rooms, but if you need to swing a cat, go to a large, high end hotel where you have unnecessarily huge rooms. Sure you might hit your head on the sink when sitting on the toilet at Check Inn Chinatown, but the space is by no means unsuitable. When you pay twenty dollars for all of these amenities you shouldn't be complaining that the rooms are compact. They're perfectly fine (and I'm not a small guy.)

Some complain about difficulty in finding the place - there are signs. Use the map provided on their website to show your cab driver. It's tucked away but that's part of the charm.

I would definitely stay here again if I need to stay in Chinatown. A little oasis of cute and clean in a big and often dirty city!

Room Tip: Don't stay on the first floor. The staff (manager, I believe!) can be very loud in the morning...

This Hotel is really difficult to locate.
We spent around an hour looking for it the fist time.
We asked many local, even they themselves do not know where it is.

The staffs are not that friendly.
The plus side of this hotel is it's just beside Chinatown.

Hard to find budget hotel that was just ok fr a 1 night stopover in Chinatown Bangkok. Room was adequate in size for the solo travellor and the airconditioner very effective for me. Arrived late at night and the lane way to the Hotel wasn't very well lit. Staff very friendly and oblideging. Could I stay there again.????? I could but would probably choose somewhere else. One never knows until one try's.
