“Not value for money”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2013

Its a small hotel and a long walk from the main road, longer walk from the nearest BTS (Asok). The rooms are basic. The only thing i liked about it is their wall to wall carpet, which turned out to be child proofing for me. The breakfast buffet is tiny and gets boring as they repeat the same menu everyday. The front desk is of little help. The shuttle service is always ready to help the locals or the foreigners. when v asked them to drop us to the nearest BTS, the driver suggested us to walk down, right then in front of us he happily gave a ride till the main road to a local thai woman. The hotel doesnt even have a pool of their own, they have an arrangement with hotel right next to Kingston, so if you want to use the pool, go next door plz.

Room Tip: If you are looking for a hotel of this range, go for Royal President. Its is the same lane as that o...

Booked for two nights with promotion at us$52/night inclusive of fees and breakfast. When I printed my booking slip back in Australia I notice the form stated I booked for one person yet stated two breakfast each day. Price was same regardless. I thought I had noted two guest prior to submitting. Anyway thought I best call them to confirm. I was told that's fine as the rooms for double occupancy andcharged in that manner not per person.... fine... No. On check in two weeks later after a 12 hour journey and approaching midnight local. 3am were we just came from. We were abruptly told the booking was for one. Longstory short.. after arguing for 20-30 minutes we paid an additional 800baht the equivalent to halfthe rate again. Proceeded to our room which was very nice. Large, well decorated, nice accents, ammenaties and big clean bathroom. There were two large windows with heavy drapes and a nice french window in the bathroom. Wifi worked fine. Universal power plug and decent tv. Small couch and coffee table. Plenty of towels etc. Lighting was nice too. Now for the other big negative. .. hard bed. After a big days travel all I wanted wS a good sleep. That did not happen. They put extra padding the next but didnt help. We were planning to stay the following week after a trip to chiang mai but just couldnt get past the bed issue. A real pity as this is otherwise a very nice hotel especially for the price. Breakfast buffet was a bit basic.
By the way. They manager refunded the 800 baht surcharge the following day and apologised for the inappropriate staff conduct. (I knew the manager would thats why I ended up paying it on arrival). Also my single male friend stay at the hotel and had no problems or surcharges with bring a female companion into his room.

Stayed here for a week on a fishing trip to bangkok. Staff were always helpful, although difficult to understand at times. Rooms were as described although carpets in the rooms and hallways need a good clean. Only a few minutes walk from the action, or you can use the complimentary tuk tuk service. Good breakfast and dinner menu good as well. Only down side was the pool is not on site and requires a wander next door to another hotel. I will stay here on my next visit.

The best part about the hotel is the location. It is very close to the MRT station, which is well connected. Also what i loved was the room size which was big and clean. The staff was courteous and provided cabs between airport and hotel. Also, they helped us with what all places and booked our trips.

Dear all,

I have stayed in this hotel, It is not a 4 star rating. No swimming pool, No business Centre, NO fine dining, Its a mixture of everything with one reception with multiple tables for business centre and browsing. Overall only one lift in this building it covers as fire lift and passenger lift. The day we stayed in 6th floor and power failure and we have to walk through staircase for 6th floor.

They always say next builidng property belongs to them and have pools and facility can use it.

Our inbound agent represntative is Absolute Asia is in Bangkok Tour organizer and is a cheater who is organized by my local travel agent m/s. Pricol travel Chennai India.

Careful with these agents in your bookings. I have paid for five star rate including exchage rate charges, one place they provide a good service(in Battaya good service) and other place (Bangkok bad service) they cheat you.

Dear Guests,
The business centre services are available from 8am to 10pm. just contact the guest service agent at looby. free laptop at lobby is provide 24 hrs.
Thyme Bistro & Martini Bar at ground floor open daily from 6am to 11pm offers Mediteranean & Thai fusion cuisine. Room services also are available should you wish to dine in the comfort of your room.
In building carpet staircase with air conditioning also available with easy walking. (Do not use elavator in case of fire).
During your stay never have power failure or any issue on electricity. I am not understand what's you mean by that. (Only one times that myself and engineers were testing fire alarm and elevator must go down automatically to ground floor according to safety policy but it's took only 1 minutes to test it).
Guest services directory is available in the room. It's containing all information.

I have stayed here at Kingston so many times, it now feels like coming home, whenever I check in..
The staff all so friendly, prime location and great offers and deals available..
Am glad I found this little hotel to stay and have no intentions to move anywhere else..
It may have aged a bit, and a few things like water filling in the shower, are the only things that could be looked into..But other than that, this is it for me..I will have to see something very special to leave from here..
Give it a try, you will not regret it..

This hotel is absolutely the best. In the last 18 months I have stayed there four times. It is fantastic value for money.

The free wifi is fantastic and even when my sons computer could not connect they found someone to fix the problem free of charge.

The rooms are a lovely large size which was great for my visit last August when my son had dental work done that meant we pretty much lived in the room for five days. Satellite TV was well appreciated also!

The food is excellent and the breakfast buffet is more than you need.

There is a pool in the hotel next door that you can use should you want to go swimming.

Welcome drink on arrival and the staff will do anything to help you.

Bangkok is at your door and the sky train at the end of the street and the railway two blocks down.

Walking distance to other restaurants and markets.

Only place I would stay in Bangkok now.
