“Great hotel to stay in downtown Bangkok”
Reviewed 12 October 2012

Located in the central shopping tourist area of Bangkok, this hotel is an oasis in the hustle and bustle of the city. Just walk into the hotel bobby which has a very high ceiling, the air-conditioning makes a welcome change from the tropical heat outside. The hotel decor is grand but not threatening. The staff is helpful and friendly. The hotel has a big outside swimming pool which blends into the landscaped garden. There are two dining areas for breakfast. The food offered is sumptuous and there is no need for lunch afterwards. Hotel room decor is modern and user friendly with free wifi. Just walk across a road is the Siam Paragon. The Siam sky train is a 5 minutes walk from the hotel and so is Central World. I have stayed in this hotel twice in a year. Both time I have thoroughly enjoy my stay.

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms are better sited . Premium rooms are in a different wing and takes a long walk to the l...

As soon as the car draws up you realise that you are in for a spell of top-end luxury. The lobby is built to impress with the high ceilings, marble and sense of calm space. The check-in experience was perfect. Welcoming smiles, warmth and individual attention. The receptionist insisted to show me to my room pointing out all the amenities on the way.

My room (standard room) was on the 10th floor. It was furnished with detailed attention. The bathroom (separate free standing bath and shower) was separated from the room by glass giving it a very airy feel. The bed was extra large, with crisp white linen and very comfortable. The room was complete with a 42 inch LED TV, a large desk, wired and wireless broadband (at an additional cost), iPod dock and coffee maker.

I was here on business for one night. I was glad to get the chance to use the gym which was well equipped and very modern. The breakfast room was the final touch. The buffet was sumptuous. What is different is if you want a cooked breakfast they actually take your order at the table and bring it to you beautifully presented (best poached eggs I have had for miles).

Downside - it comes at a price!

Room Tip: Ask for an outward facing room to get a view of the city.

We stayed in the Siam Kempinski Residence section..and the room is nice and very functional. Overall hotel decoration is amazing!! I love the tall, bright and elegant look ... with almost every room has a view to the central swimming pool and garden. Although, the hotel is in the middle of Bangkok which is super busy, but you can find relaxing moment in the hotel... it just made me feel relaxed and away from those busy metropolitan.

Service was great! Love the escort to the room too. We did eat at Sra-Bua - which is a Thai fusion done by Michelin star chef (or sister restaurant in Denmark) - AMAZING! I love how they pay all the attention to details and creativity.. just make my Thai dining experience is different and memorable.

Location was superb! Just behind the Siam Paragon shopping mall and walking distance to other malls - like CTW, MBK, Siam Square and easy access to Sky train.

I think this is a great hotel for either friends, family or couples... or even for corporate. I wish that lmy company contract for corporate rate with this hotel :) It is simply the best and has everything from business to leisure that you can ask for.

Nice property located close to one of the biggest shopping mall in the city! Beautiful rooms, really modern but elegant at the same time. Minibar complimentary. The service was also really good above all at the breakfast. I will go back.

This is amazing .. I have read other reviews of Kempinski and wonder how it is possible to give this hotel anything else than 5 stars. We stayed at the Kempinski for 3 days in September and we can only describe the hotel in a word, excellent! We have stayed in the Excecutive floor and everything is more than you can ask for. The staff, the service, the rooms, the food is just excellent. Room, pool area, fitness center, restaurants all are the best. Not to mention the kids club, we barely saw our son during our stay and was almost forced to drag him from the place. We travel a lot and have stayed in many five star hotels but this hotel belongs to the absolute best. Highly recommended! See you again !
