Stayed in the hotel during last weekend. Service was good as always, the staff we encountered are friendly and courteous. Room was clean and the maid service were excellent.
Hotel is situated at Siam BTS Station. Surrounded by huge shopping malls Siam Paragon, Siam Centre and Siam Discovery Centre. The Siam Centre had newly renovated and turned into a place which is modern and trendy.
Good location and certainly choose to stay whenever return to Bangkok.

I have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Kempinski Siam. First impressions were good. Location is great. However, service was disappointing. When we arrived, it took staff over 30 mins to check us in. We were asked to sit down and wait. All around us were empty glasses of welcome drinks and used hand towels. No one came to clear them so I had to request for this to be done. A few of us were given welcome drinks and hand towels but my family on another table weren't. Once again I had to request for this. First impressions count and unfortunately this was not a great start.
The next day, we went down for breakfast at around 9.30pm and then to the poolside. When we came back to rest in our rooms at 1.30pm (we had 3 all on the same level), we found that all the rooms hadn't been cleaned yet. My father is wheelchair bound and had the disabled access room, surely this room should have been cleaned earlier? He then needed to rest. This meant that his room didn't get cleaned till after 6pm when he went out.
It was easy to wheel him around and to go to the mall, they have a trolley to lower the wheelchair so no steps are required.
Breakfast was extremely busy but selection was good. Pool was nice but gets limited sunshine due to buildings around it.
All in all an ok stay if you want to be near the malls. Otherwise nothing beats the hotels by the river in my opinion.

First go to siam kempinski hotel, everything looks luxurious. Very reasonable price compared with a kitchenette room. Relax corner overlooking beautiful garden. I am impressed with this swimming pool. The pool is beautiful and there are many for family vacation. Amidst the busy and crowded city. Poolside bar design looks good. Perfect for breakfast. Served as the campaign between meals. Food quality is good. Staff and take care of Excellence. I do not want to go out.

Read all the great reviews on tripadvisor, which convinced me this would be THE place to stay. Booked in for 3 nights in an executive suite. Will summarise the pros and cons.

PROS:
-Location. It just doesn’t get better than this. Situated next to siam paragon and a stone’s throw away from Central world.
-Grand looking hotel, rooms are spacious and clean. Obviously no expense was spared on the interior décor. A large balcony, which is great if you are a smoker.
- amazing amount of greenery. Feels like a resort right in the middle of the city.
- great spa. Experienced therapist.

CONS:
-Cold, stilted, impersonal. All through the 3 nights stay and despite paying more for executive, no one bothered to intro the hotel to us nor were there any personal touches.
-Breakfast menu was limited and boring. Had expected more local food.
- service staff a hit and miss. Was told by the staff that they would allow it this one time when I asked for coffee to be sent up to the room in the morning. When it was clearly stated on my executive introduction letter that tea / coffee (on request) in the morning is complimentary.
- Executive lounge was located in a separate wing from the suite. Defeating the purpose of the lounge as it was so out of the way. Made more sense to just use the coffee house for breakfast.
- Staff at the executive lounge are cold and unfriendly when taking orders. felt like i was not welcome at all
- there weren’t any complimentary cookies. Fruits were not replenished daily as advertised.
- room was overly crowded with too much furniture. Thus blocking usage of mini bar, etc.
- one of the worst was that starting from 6pm every night to midnight ,there would be booming noises and music from the ballroom on the 2nd storey. I was staying on the 4th floor. The music was so loud that I could hear the lyrics to the songs playing whilst I was within the room.

Whilst this hotel has got great hardware, it fails to deliver on the famous Thai hospitality. Service here is mediocre and sometimes just downright rude. Great if you just want a convenient place to rest your head but not the kind of hotel I would like to return to on a regular basis.

Room Tip: ask for a room away from the ballroom. if you are wanting the executive package, request for a room...

My girlfiend and I stayed here for 4 nights in October 2012 in a standard deluxe double room. There was a finance ministers conference going on during that time so the hotel foyer seemed very busy but it didnt effect our stay at all.

The good:

- The rooms - the rooms were wonderfully clean and modern with huge comfy beds. The bathroom amenities and shower were great. the see through glass walled bathroom was quirky (there is an electronic blind which can come down to conceal bathroom if you wish)
- the locaton - perfect for walking to Siam paragon, Central world and MBK shopping malls (if you wish there are buggies on hand to trsnaport you to the shops)and a short cheap taxi ride to the grand palace, reclining buddha and attractions etc. Taxi cost via toll road 450 baht
- Srua Brua - would highly recommend this resturant they only serve a set menu but it is a great experience and "not too expensive" for a michelin star standard of food (£40 a head)
- the staff are very friendly and always keen to help

What we felt could be improved:
- We did not have a breakfast option with our room but one of the mornings we thought would pay seperatly and try it one of the mornings. It was adequate but the selection was quite limited with not enough freshly considering the price though understandably 5* hotels will be expected to charge over the odds. Cheaper and tastier food for breakfast is readily available outside the hotel or in Siam paragon food hall.

Overall a wonderful stay and we could not fault the service or the rooms they fitted our needs perfectly. If you need a luxury hotel that has an amazing restautant with a central location this is the place to stay - there are cheaper hotels but it saves time being stuck in bangkok traffic!

I'm pretty hard to impress, but this place blew me away. There's normally something that disappoints me about 5 star hotels but I simply couldn't fault the Kempinski on any level.

The rooms are fantastically designed, both aesthetically and ergonomically.

The "open plan bathroom" that had concerned me when i booked actually gave the option of privacy with an electronic screens so you can use as you like. The bathtub and shower are both very spacious and there is a controllable speaker system so you can listen to your favourite tunes while you bathe.

The bed was enormous and comfortable. There were more electrical sockets that you ever need. The TV was some crazy High Def version with loads of international channels and connectivity for all manner of other devices, including via bluetooth enabling music to be played throughout the room.

I have never stayed in such a well soundproofed large hotel - we never heard another door, voice or footstep!

The usual East Asian niceties of a five star hotel all lived up to expectations. Reliable cheap taxis willing to use their meters were on tap, fresh fruit each day, and they even have free beer and soft drinks in the mini bar!

The breakfast was awesome - i stopped ordering a la carte after a while as the choice was so large in the main buffet. A tip: use the restaurant in the garden wing for a really elegant breakfast!

Location-wise it could not be better for hitting the main shopping malls and accessing the skytrain, yet inside the hotel you cannot even hear the city - such an oasis.

Only a couple of words of very minor warning:

The pool is a great, meandering network of shallow lagoons and pathways: great for relaxing. Quite rightly they have shaded it all over with trees/shrubs. Combined with the enclosed courtyard that the hotel forms, this means if you want to fry yourself in the tropical sun's rays (like yiu shouldn't but i know some of you do!) you will find it difficult.

Ask on arrival how to dim the bedroom lights - we never found a happy medium and kept forgetting to ask!

Room Tip: Garden wing superior room was excellent, but i doubt there are any bad ones

Our first time at any Kempinski Hotel and we loved it. Efficient service, helpful staff, lovely gardens and pool and wonderful room all in the centre of Bangkok.

The only negatives I could find were that it is in a funny location behind the Siam Paragon Centre so a taxi was needed for everything except the shopping centre. It seemed to always be a problem getting taxi drivers to it, even with a translated address. The room was well equipped but felt a little on the bijou side with all the things essential for a five star traveller taking a lot of space. We had 6 hangers which is not a lot (though they supplied some plastic ones on request). We had a Premier room with a little balcony and a complimentary mini-bar with soft drinks and beer. Breakfast in the garden/pool area was a delight and we chilled around the pool area during the day more than we should have just because it was so nice.

The measure of a good stay is always, "would I stay again?" Not only would I but think I would upgrade to a swim-up room next time too!
