Remains a good place to stay

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 26 May 2019via mobile
For the third time in two years, stayed here for a week.
S31 is conveniently ocated in Bangkok - close to two BTS stations, Phrom Phong and Asok
The room is, by its odd design, rather narrow. But it is well appointed. The little kitchen was fine.
Restaurant and bar were both good. Breakfast buffet is very varied with Asian and European food.
Pool open to ten at night.

S31 was a good place to stay because it was cheap and extremely close tho all the best places in Sukhumvit. It's surrounded by very expensive places but was cheap. The staff were lovely too. The only problem was it wasn't the cleanest place I've ever stayed at.

The rooms are good. Wifi is absolutely pathetic. Breakfast is served till 10.30 but usually half the stuff is picked up even before 10.30. The concierge desk is very helpful. In room food service is average.

A pleasant surprise, to find this hotel just off Sukhumvit Road. The staff was professional and helpful and my room had everything that I needed. My room was quiet and I was unaware of the outside noise. Very comfortable bed. It is walking distance to many restaurants and the MRT.
The only thing I question is that there is only one bar stool at the counter to sit and no cutlery or crockery in the cupboard in the kitchen.

Room tip: Top floors are better.

Have stayed in this hotel for past few visits to Thailand in last few months. Overall service is good. Can easily get food even during late nights after meetings. Various malls, supermarkets, cafes are available. Will stay in this hotel again.

I have stayed in this hotel many times over the past 2 years and it’s been my regular go to base. While it’s never been perfect, and where is, it really has served me well and I've based myself there for work a number of times.

Sadly, this last time was a big disappointment and I won't stay here again. I had a problem with my wifi, which I very much needed as I was working from my room, and despite talking to numerous people with repeated promises of finding a quick solution, it still took 24 hours to rectify. I was only there for 48 hours and I ended up missing an important telecon amongst other things. (The calls/telecons were sensitive so no option to go to a public part of the hotel or elsewhere)

I fully understand things not working, it happens - but the attitude was just awful. I was trying to be helpful at the start, I proposed changing rooms and a number of other things but they were just ignored. When I was told after it was fixed that they'd put a booster outside my room, I really did get fed up and asked why that couldn't have been done at the start? And again, just ignored. I even escalated the issue after the first day, and was told 'well, its fixed now, what's the problem?' - no acknowledgment of it taking 24 hours and multiple calls and visits to reception.

Its not a cheap hotel and I pay that bit more to have facilities like these as I do work on the move. Fully appreciate this sounds like first class problems type stuff, but it was far more the 'we really don't give a damn' attitude over the whole time that got to me.
