I have stayed in this hotel many times over the past 2 years and it’s been my regular go to base. While it’s never been perfect, and where is, it really has served me well and I've based myself there for work a number of times.
Sadly, this last time was a big disappointment and I won't stay here again. I had a problem with my wifi, which I very much needed as I was working from my room, and despite talking to numerous people with repeated promises of finding a quick solution, it still took 24 hours to rectify. I was only there for 48 hours and I ended up missing an important telecon amongst other things. (The calls/telecons were sensitive so no option to go to a public part of the hotel or elsewhere)
I fully understand things not working, it happens - but the attitude was just awful. I was trying to be helpful at the start, I proposed changing rooms and a number of other things but they were just ignored. When I was told after it was fixed that they'd put a booster outside my room, I really did get fed up and asked why that couldn't have been done at the start? And again, just ignored. I even escalated the issue after the first day, and was told 'well, its fixed now, what's the problem?' - no acknowledgment of it taking 24 hours and multiple calls and visits to reception.
Its not a cheap hotel and I pay that bit more to have facilities like these as I do work on the move. Fully appreciate this sounds like first class problems type stuff, but it was far more the 'we really don't give a damn' attitude over the whole time that got to me.
