“Great hotel/service- Ratchadamri”
Reviewed 8 December 2012

Stayed 3 nights while on business, which was great. We were at the Southern end of Ratchadamri district, which allowed easy walking access to the shops/restaurants although I think being North is the most convenient [I like Intercontinental/Grand Hyatt location I think the best, but it made me walk a little more]. The St Regis is newer though. I liked everything about it, but only if I were to nitpick, I prefer the ground floor hotel lobbies better than this model, which is like others with an elevator to the 12th floor first. The VIU restaurant for breakfast was pretty good, but I guess I am used to being shocked with some really interesting food stations. Value was amazing, even though I did not take advantage of the THB1000 spa certificate. Butler service was very helpful as well, although I did not take advantage of it. I also found the fitness centre to be good- I used the medicine balls, free weights and yoga area the most. I didn't take advantage of the direct access to the Skytrain [BTS] but I would also think that a big plus.

Room Tip: I was in 1717, which I liked b/c I don't like to wait long in elevators, as it is 4 stops from t...

We stayed here the first couple nights of our honeymoon - it was a great escape to the bustle and grit Bangkok as a city has to offer. This hotel was every bit what a St. Regis should be and then some. We were blown away with its luxury, impeccable service, and always attentive staff. Oh, and the suite upgrade we got for our honeymoon was the perfect topper. Their rooms were beautiful (not to mention the phenomenal bath and shower!) and their their breakfast was one of the best! We'd definitely stay again!

Arriving at midnight from overseas, we were picked up at the airport by the resort car (gorgeous) on time with cold water, cool towels, and the most gracious driver. The driver alerted the hotel to our arrival and they greeted us at the front door, took us directly to our room and did an in-room check-in. Perfect start. We had made a last minute request for a tour, the information was in our room with a bottle of wine, a bowl of treats and a cake. We had a beautiful room overlooking the royal sports club.

As a Platinum guest, we received free laundry, butler service and free breakfast. The breakfast buffet is excellent - tons of choices and the best we had in our trip to Thailand. The second morning, the staff remembered what we liked and asked us if we would like it again. Buffet included western options (pancakes, waffles, eggs of every variety), sushi, miso soup, dim sum, pre-made noodles, 4 types of made to order thai noodles, fruit, cheeses, breads, nuts and plenty more.

The pool is small, but very nice with views of the sports club. The hotel is located across from the BTS station (connected by a walkway from the inside of the hotel - so no need to cross the street) which allows for easy access to shopping, sites, and most of the city. We really enjoyed the ease of the BTS station - it made getting around town so easy.

The hotel staff were excellent, very attentive and anticipated our every need. Perfect way to start our trip to Thailand. We have stayed in many St. Regis hotels and this one had the perfect balance of St. Regis luxury without being at all stuffy. Highly recommended.

Happy to try a new-ish SPG property in Bangkok, and stayed for six nights to celebrate our anniversary. Bangkok has quite a few 5-star properties to choose from, and we were excited to try something new.

Corresponded with the hotel before our stay, and they were always responsive and helpful. We arrived in Bangkok quite late the first night, and were happy to be able to check in quickly - supposedly upgraded as we had SPG Gold status, but was probably a view upgrade rather than room size.

Room is well-appointed, with a large bathroom, and a nice view of the park/track. Was happy to see they remembered most of my requests even if they were modified just a little.

Staff were always helpful, and the butler service was not bad. Sometimes it was a bit of a wait for say a cup of tea, but nothing too excessive, and the biscuits with the tea were always welcome. They remembered our anniversary and had cake and flowers set up, which was nice.

We had trouble with our room lock everyday - it would not open at all by the third day. Bit of hassle to trek back downstairs to let front desk know, and go back up to "verify" that it wasn't working...ended up waiting by the pool, hoping to grab a drink but unfortunately couldn't find any staff there - either too busy or pretended not to notice us. The lock was fixed, but never opened smoothly, usually took 5 or 6 tries, and some brute force.

Zuma on the first floor was always busy, but we enjoyed our dinner there. Feels similar to the other locations, but drinks were hit or miss. Room service was quite good, and the other hotel restaurant served late night food as well (discount for SPG members!).

Location is excellent, as many of the other reviews mentioned, and connected to the skytrain system by a skybridge. We enjoyed our stay, and were happy with our choice!

Stayed for one night as we were transiting through Bangkok. Amazing hotel. Gave us an upgrade to the Executive Room category, which was fabulous.

Check in team was very helpful. Recommended two nice restaurants for a late Thai meal. Wake up calls arrived on time with hot tea and coffee. Butler service and bell service was great.

Will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the St. Regis 18 to 20 July 2012, our room type was Grand deluxe, we were a families parents and one 5 years daughter.
Check-in and checkout: I made the reservation direct through hotel web site, everything was smooth and fast during in and out.
Location: the hotel located in perfect location (nice & quite area) and connecting to Lumphini BTS station in second floor, that make many tourists places closer and easy to reach.
In general: like any other Sr. Regis hotel in the world, the lobby is huge and luxury, the building looks new and all the staff I have met was professional, English speaker and helpful all that make me feel home nothing to complain.
The room: grand deluxe room was amazing and huge everything was perfect and located in correct place and butler service was added value to the room, also the view was amazing to the swimming pool and The royal Bangkok sport club. The bed was comfortable with great selecting of pillows.
Cleanliness: the room and bathroom was really clean and turnover service was great.
Breakfast: the breakfast great it was huge with many selection of dishes also the quality of food was really good we like it.
Staff: polite, helpful, English speaker.

Room Tip: Some rooms is connecting to the swimming pool, this rooms looked ideal for people who like to use th...

The much talked about Ladies Nite every Thursday at St Regis turned out to be a dud yesterday. I was there at 8pm with 2 friends, one of whom is a prominent Bangkok socialite. We entered at 8pm and did not get served till 15 minutes after. That too, AFTER we had to signal the waitress, who gave us a grunt. When we were ready for our next Bellini, we had to again signal for service and were curtly told this time that Ladies Nite was from 6:30 to 8pm. When we mentioned that the website said 9pm, the waitress said it was their fault and that the timing had changed 2 months ago. She did offer us another free round of Bellinis though, grudgingly. No Thai smiles here. We sure will not be returning there soon, to say the least. Ladies nite FAIL.
