“Budget Traveler's Hotel in the center of Buzzing Bangkok”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2013

Basics: You will doubt the facade of the Hotel because it looks like a hole in the wall but it is different when you come inside. The lobby is like a home with free mineral water and coffee/tea. Oh, you cannot just enter the hotel, the door has an auto lock feature and the staff will look first who's on the door before switching the unlock mode (which I think is a good security feature)

Location: The Hotel is situated somewhere in the Silom area/road. It is one taxi ride from the airport. Near food markets, restaurants, massage areas, bars and also the BTS (train station). A good location if you want to roam around Bangkok and Thailand using the train.

The Room: I am with my friends so we booked a three bed room. The room is just right but not that spacious. It has a big cabinet with a safe deposit box inside, a side table/chair with mirror, a refrigerator and TV (which by the way isn't cable). Has complimentary mineral water everyday of your stay and has a closed balcony.

The Bathroom: Size of the bathroom is ok. With complimentary shampoo and soap. Also has a water heater. But without toilet paper.

Amenities: We're surprised to find out it has a lift so great if you have a heavy luggage. As I've said, complimentary mineral water (in a bottle) everyday of your stay. Great Wi-fi connection. There is free water/coffee/tea in the lobby and posters/reminders on the do's and dont's on travelling to tourist sites in bangkok/Thailand.

Dining: They don't have a restaurant.

Verdict: A decent place for budget travelers like me! Most important part of the hotel is the Free Water!!!! LOL A warm place to stay in Bangkok where you'll be satisfied what you paid for.

Positives- clean, modern, good shower, fridge, TV. 2 mins walk from Silom rd with all the amenitities
Negatives- down a dark alley marked Thai Boy massage! Nevertheless felt safe all the while. The air con took a long time to cool the room down and in April it is 40 degrees.

Second time of staying here, stayed in superior double. Absolutely spotlessly clean room, bottles of water each day, free tea, coffee and water downstairs. Huge immaculately clean fridge (great for chilling drinks when its 40 degrees outside). Shower separate from the toilet. Great central location. Rooms cleaned everyday. Huge comfy bed. No breakfast, but no need-so much food on offer everywhere. Really can't fault the place. Don't hesitate to stay here, well worth paying ever so slightly more for such a great room (990 baht for superior room).

I really enjoyed my stay from January 4-11, 2013. My room was on the top floor and spotless. The shower was heated, the sheets clean and there was AC. The Internet connection was good and I liked that there was a fridge where I could store fruit. The only small issue was that you could hear everything in the hall. I woke up a couple of times one of the nights with people coming back in the wee hours of the morning. Luckily, this was not a big deal as many of the other guests were quiet. It would not keep me from coming back to stay because most hotels/hostels that I've stayed at in Bangkok have this problem.

What stood out for me was that the staff was very helpful. They would hold the door to the area for the elevator if I came back with bags and they gave great suggestions for places to eat in the neighborhood.

When I come back to Thailand in a few months I will happily stay here again. This time I'm going to try some of the great street food immediately outside the front door of the hotel. The restaurant and the stalls are only open for a limited time.

Down the street (about a 5 minute walk) is also a wonderful place to go for pork noodles and a wide variety of street food. It is really busy with folks from the night market which is also close by.

Read very good reviews about this place before booking and to be honest, none of them disappointed me. I had a very nice stay for 3 nights and planning to stay there again before leaving BKK.
Pros:
1> Super clean rooms.
2> Very friendly receptionists. They will help them with finding some place in BKK (or outside) by marking on the map.
3> Free hot beverages, like tea, coffee, Milo..
4> Location is pretty good. Locted at about 5-7 min walk from Sala Daeng sky-train station.

Cons: Nothing as such. Maybe the beds can be a little softer, but it wasokay for me.
