“Cheap, dirty but it works if you're on a budget”
Reviewed 10 September 2012

The title says it all: the price is right if you like the area, but if you're at all picky about where you sleep or shower, you might want to look elsewhere. The room we stayed in was a double and it was quite tiny, with a few holes in the walls, no windows and a really musky smell. The ceiling was rotting in certain sections and water damage was visible everywhere. The place could do with a paint job and some new ventilation since windows aren't an option. Still, the staff was really friendly and not a hassle to deal with at all.

Room Tip: I don't know if they have rooms with windows or not, but you could try asking for one before you...

This is a no frills hostel which does exactly what is says on the tin. Cheap rooms in a great part of Bangkok.
I went with my girlfriend and although the staff were very friendly, helpful and pleasant the rooms could be improved. The is a slight smell in the place that needs to be eradicated. The rooms could be redecordated to add a bit of style.

Having said this for the price you pay, I shouldnt really complain,

Free WIFI, as well as luggage storage for one day. Indian restaurant was brilliant (I am in Northern Thailand and really miss Indian food)

Great staff. Location could not be better just off Kao San Rd and withing walking distance to the Grand Palace and Wat Angkor

I would go back

Yes, the rooms are tiny, bed is hard, no windows and thick air- but it's clean, you have free wi-fi, staff are nice, and the location is amazing: just in front of the Kahosan, but a bit far fron its noise. You pay only 250 baht for a single room. I was pleased. If you are looking for a very good room, but- don't stay here.

Cant really complain much about this place - to be right on Khao San Road for 150 baht a night is a bargain in anyone's book. The staff are so lovely, and while it isn't pristine I have definitely seen much worse. The restaurant is a great place to socialize too. If you're on a tight budget this is the place to be.

I stayed in a dorm room. The bunk-bed is pretty shaky! When a person above me moving, it is like an earth quake! LOL! The bed is pretty hard and firm but still good to sleep on. No complaining on that especially the price that I paid was really cheap. The room is pretty small and it'd be stuffy during day time as the weather is so hot out there but at night, when they switched on the A/C, it is relatively cool. The bathrooms outside of the dorm is quite small but it was OK, it is not like I going to sleep in the bathroom! Located around Khao San Road, do not expect you will have a good quiet night sleep. Khao San Road is one place in Bangkok that never sleeps. The staffs in this guesthouse were really friendly and helpful, too. The (Indian) food & drinks served also quite nice. The pineapple shakes and the samosa was awesome. Anyone that come here should try em.

after searching along khaosan rd and about for a double room in a good price I found this place. The rooms are basic, not the most clean, I have to say that the walls AND roofs needs seriously some hard sugar soaping in there, the floor under the bed too. The bed is firm but good to sleep on, there's a small public balcony that you can go and smoke, the sheets and linen are clean. No toilet paper do, great value for the room, you get what you pay! the rooms need some good ventilation too...
But the location, the friendly staff, the Indian restaurant(they make cocktails too) in a good price makes the place inviting!
anyway the staff were the best thing of this place

Room Tip: look the room before you pay!

Stayed in 8 bed dorm at the very front of the building, looking over Khoa sanh, basic dorm, but has adequate plug sockets, air con from 7pm, and 2 fans. Balcony leads out from room for the smokers. Very noisy until all hours of the morning, so if youre not out there and part of it, you may have trouble sleeping. 2 shower/ toilets, warm/cold water, never had to queue for it. Dorm on 3rd floor though, so may not be the best choice if you have mobility issues.
Staff are friendly, and there is a luggage store if you have a late flight/ bus. Lockers are downstairs near the restaurant, and used with your own padlock.
As its cheaper than anywhere else ive seen near Khoa San Rd, i would stay there again, however, rooms definetly needs a thorough clean, under the bed looks like it hasnt seen a brush or bleach in about 6 months!

Room Tip: Try and get a dorm at the back of the building if youre going to be in bed early
