“Great value, good location, not a good night's sleep”
Reviewed 8 April 2013

If your familiar with the Khaosan road area, you know that there are a number of bars, playing very loud music very late into the night. That's not a problem if you are at those bars. The location of this hostel makes it a sixty second walk to some of them. If you are looking for a party, it's a great place to stay for a great price. However, if your looking for a good night of sleep, this is probably the wrong place to stay. I have stayed in hotels that were probably 4x as much that are only a street or two down, and they are beautiful air-conditioned rooms that don't have the loud music late into the night. So decide what you want. Do you want a dirt-cheap place with okay beds and loud music all night, or comfort and peace? Everything in Thailand is fairly inexpensive, so it just depends on how you want to budget each day. I highly recommend this hostel if you are looking for the cheap and party filled experience.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the Khoasan Road entrance will be quieter, but I'm not sure if there are any dor...

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. OK so it was noisy, the beds were hard and the facilities were basic but the staff are great and the location is awesome.I have stayed in this hostel on three separate occasions, every time the staff have bent over backwards to ensure I am happy. The best part about this place is the people I met here. I always stayed in a dorm and had the best time with my dorm mates. Seems like cool people gravitate towards it!

Stayed 2 night at this guesthouse. Beds are hard but sleep surprisingly well. Location is great just off khaosan road, Unfortunatly this does go with considerable amount of loud music. All in all you get what you pay for. Big bonus they serve great Indian food.

I arrived in Bangkok late at night and by myself, I had to ask a couple of people where it was located (through a cafe/ restaurant which is their own however for future reference does really good food) my room was very basic. A bit run down and just a fan no air con. The beds are rather hard as well. However, overall it's a good location and as I said, you get what you pay for. The staff are friendly though limited english.

I stayed in the dormitory for 2 nights but the 3rd day in the morning I have been announced that there are some bookings and no more space is available for me.. they told me to wait till 12:00 if somebody check out.. it is my first time that happens to me.. the stuff didn't told me that I cannot stay more than 2 nights.. because my original plan was to stay 5-6 nights.

The hostel is cheap (200 baht = 5 euros) per night.. without breakfast.. it is quite dirty and the bathrooms stink. ONLY during the night there is an aircondition working in the room.. The aircondition turns off automatically around 05:00 - 06:00 in the morning and you wake up because you start sweating. During the day it is extremely hot inside the room and the aircondition is not working. There are some fans in the room but they don't make it cooler.

I had changed a hostel and I moved to de talak hostel / http://www.tripadvisor.com.gr/Hotel_Review-g293916-d2549700-Reviews-De_Talak_Hostel-Bangkok.html It is a little more expensive (250 baht = 6,2 euros per night), outside the touristic area but extremely clean, better facilities etc..

Located at the end of Khao San road. 200 baht a night for a mixed dorm with a fan.
Bed's are very hard, but c'mon 200 baht. Great for backpackers on a budget. Though don't limit yourselves... there are many cheap spots around Khao san round. Hint.. look for any guesthouses.

Room Tip: Bring ear plugs.

We stayed for one night at this hostel. We arrived by bus from Siem Reip and it stopped in front of Khao San Road, which is really something when travelling on budget. The Hostel was conveniently located.
Our room was heading the road and it was too noisy. Despite that, the room was OK, not dirty and the restaurant in the ground floor was an option to consider before heading to the Khao San Road, the street for all kind of evening activities.
