1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

A public anti-hygiene canal where the lenght start from suburbands East BKK connected to an old city Chao Phraya River area; Daytime not so crowded ; Learn the way Thais local hopped in and out the public boat ; then you will enjoy the local life skycraper canal bank view.
Warning!! Avoid rush hour as no space to stand and less handrail or rope to hold!!

“Thai life among the skyscrapers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

Not recommended for children and older people. Get in and out takes a bit of courage. And quickly, you should be. It is best to watch the Thais, like the do it. You should also know where you want to go, as the pier is called or what number he has. Pratunam is not in the middle of the line but certainly a good place to switch over or off. Meanwhile, there is a very informative website where all stops are entered in the Google maps. Also important sights and stops from the Sky train and the Subway. It is highly recommended, to surf around there. Is it really in it in the boat and is not afraid of a few splashes of water, one can learn much about Thailand: Life along the canal, the way to work and the very helpfulness of Thai people. When it rains, it gets a bit uncomfortable because the plastic can be pulled up and therefore the view is considerably restricted. But with the right attitude is also a positive experience.

“Be brave”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2014

I admit, you have to be fast to get on the boat, but once you are in it you will enjoy yourself (at least I did). You are able to experience a form of transportation you will not find at home. The boat is fast, the price is cheap, and you can go for miles and miles if you wish. Seeing the back of Bangkok this way is very interessting. The only thing is, you have to get out of the boat again. And for that you have to be fast. But never the less, be brave!

“Great way to go east to west and see real Bangkok”

Used this several times. It's the best transport in Bangkok by miles. Fast frequent cheap with good views of the back of the town where real people live.

“Fast ride!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 March 2014

We used this water taxi service for the first time on a trip to the Golden Mount - getting off the Sky Train at Ratchatewi Station and walking to the Pier. We didn't realise what little time we would have to get on and off the boat! However, the guy in charge bringing the boat in helped me board when he saw me hesitating with one foot on the pier and the other on the boat with the gap widening! The locals on board were equally helpful! You have to know exactly where you want to get off, but as we got off too early we did have an interesting walk along the canal. Not really recommended for the elderly or small children - or those of a nervous disposition! - unless, as a previous reviewer stated, you can take more time to board/disembark at extreme ends of the ride. Interesting views of Bangkok and very cheap!
