“A real gem”
Reviewed 5 February 2013

Found that fantastic hotel on tripadvisor.com and the positive comments are more than true - this gem will become my standard Bangkok hotel in the future.
Perfectly located in the old town, close to the major attractions (Grand Palace, Reclining Buddha, Flower Market and Khaosan Road - if you wanna call the last one an "attraction") - you can reach all These places within 15 min by foot). The room size is ok, every room has it`s own typical style and is more than a standard, anonymous hotel room. The bathroom is ok as well, typical Thai shower, but with a shower curtain that prevents a flooded bathroom. The room is cleaned every day. Breakfast is good (coffee, eggs, fruits, some Thai dishes).
The best thing is the green patio - the road outside is quite busy, but entering the hotel area leads you to another, quiet world.
About the cons: Far from Skytrain, ok, you have to accept if you wanna stay in the old town. Thin walls - however, the hotel is quiet, but you can hear other guests sometimes.
Room rate of 1.800 BHT including breakfast is more than fair.

Walk to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, the ferry to Wat Arun, the Flower Market, and Khao San Road all within 7-15 minutes. Great Thai street food stands are as near as around the corner, as well as a 24 hour 7-11. The prices are super and includes free wifi, the rooms clean and comfortable, and service excellent. The staff's hospitality and kindness made the stay in Bangkok all the more memorable.

We had an excellent stay at Feung Nakorn Balcony (3 nights in January 2013). The location was perfect (a quick walk to most of the major historical sights in Banglamphu, and near to Khao San road too), the room was very comfortable (a/c, hot water, plenty of space), all services were great (delicious breakfast, good wifi), and -- most notably -- the staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. They consistently went out of their way to be helpful: following up on our lost luggage, hand-writing Thai translations for us, providing countless pieces of advice and assistance. The hotel itself is like an oasis within the city, with its enclosed garden and fountains just off the busy city street. We would very highly recommend this hotel.
Bottom line: Excellent hotel. Very convenient for accessing the main sights in Bangkok. Relaxing and peaceful refuge. Wonderful staff.

We stayed here on our way both to and from Myanmar. The rooms are excellent, the prices are fair, the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Highly recommended- we travelled with our parents and they were very satisfied (particularly after the accommodation we had in Myanmar!). We were even upgraded to a better room due to a booking error which was nice. The one difficulty is that while it's in an great location for many of the sights in Bangkok, taxi and tuk tuk drivers don't seem to be able to locate it well. Personally, i'd come back here next time i'm in Bangkok.

Wonderful hotel in a very busy part of Bangkok - walking distance to many attractions, shopping, a couple of 7-11s down the street, and a post office - what more could you want? Service is excellent, food is delicious - I was there with a group of vegans and they were extremely accommodating. Down the street, not even a half a block, is the famous Johnnie's Gems, an iconic jewelry store.

Set in what looks like an old school building, staying here is like going back in time before Bangkok became modernised. Rather overpriced, and the standard of the breakfast was rather basic, but the rooms were nicely designed and surrounded a nice courtyard.

I agree with other reviewers that this place is hard to find, and I needed to rely on Google maps to guide taxis to it, if they would go at all.

This hotel is hidden in old city, converted from an old building with courtyard, which has a nice garden and ponds. The staffs are friendly and helpful. There are not too many options for the breakfast, but they all taste good (of course, you can get many other options outside at lower price). Conveniently located, within walking distance to the grant palace. The room doesn't look like a regular western style hotel room, but has all the basic components. No curtain in the shower, but this is quite standard in Thailand. It's a bit difficult to find, even for the local taxi drivers.
