The biggest thing about this hotel is it's location, and I mean that in both a good and a bad way. It is situated on the east shore of the Chao Phraya river, directly across the river from the ShangriLa hotel and the Taksin skytrain station. (this is on the bottom half on the S curve of the river). On the good side, it is an absolutely beautiful location: the grounds are lovely and the pool is large, with lots of chairs and towels. You can sit and watch the boats and barges go by....very peaceful, especially after a hot hectic day in Bangkok. On the down side, there isn't a whole heck of a lot nearby (ie shopping, restaurants). To get into the city attractions, without sitting for hours inhaling fumes in the back of a tuktuk, we walked to the bridge about 8 minutes, and boarded a little ferry that took us across to the Taksin station. You could, instead, walk a little further, and board the skytrain at the next station, but you are taking your life in your hands trying to cross the roads around here! The hotel itself was very good...super clean (I sat at breakfast one morning and watched one of the workers continuously damp-sweep the restaurant over and over), and both the breakfast buffet and the dinner buffet were very good with lots of choices, and awesome coffee! The rooms, as was mentioned by others, were pretty basic, but had everything you needed. We travelled with our 3 kids and got 2 family rooms which have bunk beds, and this worked out well. We stayed for 4 days at the start of our holiday, and 2 more at the end before coming home.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the river; family room with bunk beds very spacious

The hotel was OK, but service was bad. Check in took very long and if we didn't remind the chatting front desk people, we would have waited longer. We never felt welcomed when we arrived. The front desk lady just looked at me without saying anything. She asked for my credit card without explaining what she will do with it. Then blocked off the ENTIRE STAY!

Shower was just in trickles and the bathroom's vent didn't work. They told us it automatically switched-on but never did.

Our room was the family room with Xbox but the games were all violent or not working.

Buffet breakfast wasn't worth it.

Shuttle to BTS station was convenient but not easy going back.Taxi drivers didn't know where it was.

It had a nice pool and being near the river made the the hotel a bit ok.

Compared to other Ibis hotels, Wifi should be free.

Sorry but we're not staying here again...

Rooms are very basic but location is good. Pool is excellent and and resturant overlooking Chao Phraya River is great spot to eat. Overall I am happy to stay at this hotel again.

The rooms are clean and quite spacious. It is located on the Chao Phraya river, however they do not have their ferry boat, so you will have to walk 5-10 minutes to the pier and take a local ferry to cross. The breakfast was decent. It definitely lacked the hospitality aspect, but we expected that from a hotel. All in all for $46/night - a great stay!

Sitting across the river from the Shangri-La Bangkok, the Ibis Bangkok Riverside has some very upscale neighbors. Unlike the luxury properties around it, this hotel - like all other Ibis properties is very spartan. Clean rooms are bare bones - just a bed, built in desk and a small bathroom with a shower the size of a phone booth. Sadly there is no balcony, and the small window in the room does not open. There is a charge for wi-fi, but like many Accor hotels, there is a computer corner with free desktops to use in the lobby. But with prices starting around $45 per night, it's an inexpensive option for a short stay.

Shuttle service from the hotel to the SkyTrain station across the river, or the ferry to cross the river is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

just had a chance to visit the hotel yesterday.

The atmosphere is so nice, it's the biggest Ibis (Thailand) in my opinion.

The room size is quiet nice if you compare with the price, didnt feel uncomfortable at all.

I love the way they arrange stuffs for children in Family Room, there's a playstation for kids and Bunk Bed, size as of normal single bed. I think this room can accommodate 4 adults!

If you are lucky, you will get the room with the Pool+River view at the same time. They have the quarantee fee for the view as well.

The restaurant is ok, they have various of simple Thai food and some Western menus. (Price Range THB. 120-200 per plate).

Love the swimming pool and the surrounded garden, nice set up.

They have the free shuttle service to the skytrain every 30 mins, so if you want to go to the city centre, that's not a problem.

If i'm not Thai, I will definately stay overnight at this hotel.

Room Tip: try to ask for the room in the central building, to face the River and Pool at the same time. If...

This riverside hotel was wonderful. There was no problem getting here from the airport, they knew where it was but do bring the hotel location printed out so you can show the cab driver just in case. I do want to mention you have to go downstairs from arrivals at the airport to get the regulated taxis. We needed a van because there were 6 of us and it was a flat rate of 700BAHT. It was late so I wasn't ging to argue and it was a good deal considering it was pretty far from the airport. The hotel was very clean, pools were great never to crowded and the view was amazing. We had a family river view room with the bunk beds and the Wii. There was never an issue getting the games you can check out three at a time. My boys loved it. The tuk tuk to the train runs every half an hour but coming back is tricky we never caught it. We always walked back which was a 10 minute very easy walk. There is a massage place down the main street, come out of the alleyway make a right go down 2 blocks and it is on the right, 150BAHT/hour. There was one one block down but it was 50 BAHT more. The boats are 2 blocks further down from the massage place, for 10 BAHT take it accross the river and for 40 BAHT take the ferry boats up and down the river to all the main attrations. It was glorious, grab a bite to eat and just float your afternoon away. I will for sure stay here again on my next trip to Bangkok was so worth it not being in the crazy Silom area.
