I chose this hotel because I can walk to Bumrungrad Hospital for my annual medical check-up.
When travelling in Bangkok, one has to try and avoid sitting in the taxi stuck in traffic. Ploenchit BTS Skytrain is half-a-block walk from the hotel's entrance and you can literally go anywhere on the BTS line. It connects to SIAM Central which links to City Line for the airport. This can save you
an hour of sitting in the traffic if you are going to the airport during the rush hours.
Aside from the ideal location, the hotel is fairly new. Three years old. It as a modern feel and the rooms and bathroom are functional. Not spacious but big enough to more around comfortably.
Room lighting is good.Bathroom has a large walk-in shower stall. No bathtubs.
Restaurants well patronized by local businessmen. Le Club floors have a nice Lounge that serves a hearty breakfast. Good value for money. The hotel is ideal for female travelers travelling alone. Lobby does not have a sitting area and does not feel sleezy. Staff are gracious and friendly. 2 Filipino Front Desk staff a bonus for English speaking guests. Doorman and bell very helpful.

Room Tip: Rooms face office commercial buildings on both sides. Neigboring buildings are new so it is okay.

My friend and I woke up very late on Sunday (1pm). The Novotel was the nearest hotel as well as many others. However, we were too lazy to keep looking for places .. Awe went up to the 8th floor to take a look. The restaurant manager and his assistant showed us around. It wasn't really that busy which we liked. The price for persons is around 1660 bath net. But the manager offered us the price of one for two which really made my day ! The brunch is fine for what you lay honestly.. You get what you pay for ! They had around 12 different desserts, a Japanese section (sea weed sushi ..), crab, lobster, mussels, salmon, pasta, eggs and so much more !!! Honestly it is probably the best value brunch ever !!
I wanna give special thanks to the restaurant manager Mr.K .. And his assistant !
The service was amazing !

Following quite a bit of research and based on fellow travellers reviews, we booked a night at the Novotel Ploen Chit on our way back from Hua Hin. Well, we wished we had booked more than one night at this fabulous hotel!

Slightly challenging for our driver to find as the hotel name didn’t actually come up on his ‘GPS’, however the location along Ploen Chit Road is perfect - literally a 30 second walk to the steps of the Ploen Chit BTS!

We were welcomed by the concierge team and shown straight to check in. As we had booked a Premier Room, we were subsequently escorted to the 29th floor for a private check in and were advised that we had been upgraded to a junior suite! A surprising but lovely gesture – especially as it was our wedding anniversary (not that the hotel was aware of this, so the upgrade angels were definitely on our side). After a small wait in the lounge area – enjoying coffee and the view, we were provided the cards to our room.

The room itself was fantastic – a great view, spacious and with all the amenities required. Very modern, clean; and the shower – well, it’s the first hotel we’ve stayed in which has a glass window that frosts up so that anyone standing in the bedroom cannot see the person showering – not something you come across often, but impressive to say the least. It gave the room a more open feel (not that it needed it), but privacy when required. The complimentary fruit was fresh, and the turndown service not expected, but it was lovely to come back to the room to find the water had been replenished and the room had been checked over again.

Cocktails and light refreshments are available between 5pm–7pm in the Premier Lounge, and the selection of beverages and ‘snacks’ on offer could not be faulted. Breakfast can also be had either at the Premier Lounge (which we did) or on the 8th floor at the main restaurant. Again, although we understand the breakfast selection in the Premier Lounge to be slightly smaller than what is available on the 8th floor, the selection on offer was substantial and there was definitely something for everyone.

Check out was relatively smooth (again on the 29th floor), but a small problem with the lifts that morning meant that we were getting a little concerned that if we couldn’t get down to the lobby, we wouldn’t make our flight. The problem was resolved very professionally and quickly however. Not sure if there is an option to check out in the lobby, but we would probably use that option next time given that we had to go up a number of floors to check out and then down again to the lobby to exit.

Would definitely recommend taking a Premier Room or Junior Suite if budget allows, however we’re sure that any of the rooms at the Novotel Ploen Chit would be as comfortable as the room we had. The service could not be faulted and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great location in Bangkok. We’ve stayed in a number of hotels and this would have to rank as one of our favourites. Our sincere thanks to the Novotel team – unknowingly, you all made our anniversary stay a memorable one!

Room Tip: If budget allows, definitely the Premier Executive or Junior Suite.

Foul smell coming from the toilet, we informed the staff and immediately got the room change, was told that will happen on rainy day... Well, maybe they should just block the room until they found a solution to avoid such situation happen again on other guest.. Oh, and I want to thank the staff a.k.a ING, she is well mannered and helpful. Besides, we got a complimentary breakfast :)

Secondly, AVOID the massage beside the hotel bar!!! The worst of worst massage I have in BKK. They charge 480bath 1hour leg massage, you can get 200-300bath outside will do whole lot better than them. Seriously, the masseur is like just touching your skin even after I told her to use little bit more strength but still the same... And I told her to stop after 30+mins.. I don't want to waste my other 30mins so I left...

This is the 2nd time that my family stayed for 5 days & 4 nights. The hotel's connecting rooms were clean & comfortable. Breakfast spread was good & definitely value for money. It was also great to chill out at the lounge to enjoy 'Live Band' & reasonably priced drinks. Location was super convenient as it was next to Ploenchit BTS & provided easy accessibility to major shopping malls like CentralWorld, Siam Paragon, Terminal 21 & latest mall Central Embassy. Cabs were readily available too. There were three 7-11 outlets within walking distance. Concierge was excellent as they were very helpful & proficient, especially Mike & Chatchai. The only hiccup was the delayed check-in upon our arrival at 3.30pm as the rooms were not ready. Quite surprising for Accor standards. We were made to wait for 1.5 hours before we got our rooms. So they gave us each a complimentary welcome drink. Overall, it was a pleasant stay & we will definitely come back again:-)

Extremely nice staff greeted me and made check in and out a breeze. Very accommodating in currency exchange and local recommendations. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect as it was less than a block from the metro rail and a few blocks from NaNa (bars and adult entertainment scene). I highly recommend anyone book this hotel for its luxurious feel.
