Gaggan is currently sitting at Number 3 on the San Pellegrino list of " The best restaurants in Asia ". An achievement to be very proud of for the Gaggan team as there`s an awful lot of restaurants in Asia. This was my second visit to Bangkoks Gaggan restaurant and this time i went for the " India reinvented " menu . My first trip is on my food blog so just search Cumbriafoodie and Gaggan to see the photos in decent size. There`s a choice of 3 menus at Gaggan and these are -

" Taste of Gaggan " - 10 courses of the classics " for 1800 baht. ( £33 ) ( $ 56 )

" India re-invented " - 11 courses for 2800 baht. ( £ 52 ) ( $ 88 )

" The Best of Gaggan " - 16 courses for 4000 baht. ( £74 ) ( $ 125 )

As with many of the restaurants in Asia there is also the small print add ons . These unforseen extras will bump your bill up by a whopping 17% and comprise of a 10% service charge and a 7% VAT.

All in all , you certainly won`t be disappointed . The building exterior and interior are absolutely stunning. The service is friendly and good , The cocktails are exciting and the food is quirky , wacky and well cooked..... It`s a fun place to go for food in Bangkok.

Here`s a few of the courses that you`ll be getting at Gaggan . Chef`s twist on the classics. My highlight was without doubt the Lamb Chops which arrive at the table under a cloche of smoke.... The flavour of the smoke and charred meat is totally amazing.

Treasure Shells - Norwegian diver Scallops cooked with young Coconut , Pepper and Curry leaves.

Bong Connection - Sea Bass cooked "sous vide" with Bengali Mustard , Cumin , Anise , Sweet Potato and Date Sugar.

Britains National dish ...with a twist - Chicken Tikka Masala and freshly made Nan Bread.

Best Memory - Free range Lamb chops cooked "sous vide" , grilled and served with a Green herb oil.

Mom`s Love - Hot Carrot mousse with Saffron and 100% Silver leaf.

River King - Tandoori grilled Tiger Prawns , cooked in a Tandoor with Curry leaf Infusion and Mango chutney.,

Willi Wonka and the Foie Gras Factory - Foie Gras with spiced red Onion chutney and cold Raspberry , Hazelnut Praline and Glass.

Viagra - Freshly shucked Oyster in a spiced marinade , grilled and served with Kokum ice cream.

had a really very delicious and memorable dinner at Gaggan ..small course after course came from the tasting menu and each one was a really delicious surprise... my only regret was that i did not order the longer menu , i would have loved to have tried the other courses and it would not have been too filling -- i will certainly order the longer menu on my next visit -- which i very much hope will be soon ..! the service was super friendly and very efficient ...the decoration and ambience in the resturant lovely .. a perfect dinner .. a perfect evening

A fabulous fusion of flavours and textures. Each dish on the vegetarian taster menu was prepared and served in an interesting, attractive and aesthetically pleasing manner.
Minnie, our Gujarati waitress was very good. She explained each dish and ingredients in Gujarati to my mum who does not speak English.

We recommended this restaurant to different groups of cousins who were due to visit Bangkok after a reunion in Hua Hin. Each one of them said that the food was fabulous.

I could never imagine Indian Cuisine and molecular gastronomy. This is such a refreshing experience and if someone would ask for a destination restaurant in Bangkok then this would be the place!!

They offer a choice of set menus but don't get scared the portion sizes are not big so you can easily enjoy the 8 or 9 course meal.

It's worth every cent!!
