We stayed here in mid June. It was a 15min taxi drive from the main airport.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Sounds of the frogs from the lake close by was cool.

Bedrooms were excellent with complimentary water. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. We didn't eat at the hotel and we didn't explore nearby. However the location to the airport is very handy and you have better options on what way to travel around or through Bangkok.

Staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. They gave us loads of advice and would reccommend this hotel for that alone.

We stayed here on our last night of vacation. We chose the hotel because it was close to the airport, had free shuttle service (see below), was reasonably priced and had good reviews. We were flying in that day and had an early flight the next morning.

The staff is friendly and some speak English well. We did not eat there so we cannot comment on the restaurant (we think the restaurant was closed; the staff sent us to 7-11). The nearby local street food is very good if you can get them to understand what you want.

The website stated that there was "Free service car for airport pick up." We could not find the car when we arrived at the airport so we called the hotel. They told us to take a cab, which we had to pay for. They paid for our return trip to the airport but only because we were getting up too early to catch the free breakfast. They were very good about getting us a cab which was there on time (3:30 a.m.) with a friendly driver.

This hotel is close to the airport but takes 30-45 minutes of travel time due to heavy traffic.

Our room was ok for the price we paid. The bed was a little dirty and there was a large dead bug on the floor of the bathroom but other than that it was clean. There were basic amenities. The room had no balcony but had a "porch" which had a sewer cover in it with a view of a wall and it smelled. Nobody would ever go out there. The hotel had a lot of mosquitoes likely to do a lot of standing water in the hotel and surrounding area. We were there only at dark, but we still had a hard time equating the pictures online to what we saw.

This place would have received all top ratings, hadn't it been for its location and the mosquitoes.
This is a budget place close to Bangkok International Airport (Subvanhabhumi), and so it attracts mostly people how need a place to stay on the way to or from the airport, and probably get very few guests who stop to really appreciate the place. At least, this was the case for us. Its too close to Bangkok to satisfy those looking for a big city experience, and it's not close enough to nature to warrant a long term stay for that reason. Had this been near a nice beach, or on a hillside on the country side, it could easily have gotten all five point reviews.
Oh, and then there is the mosquitoes... massive amounts, bring protection.

We had booked this for the day before the flight home as it was an early morning flight, and asked for a late checking.
Arriving at about 8 PM, we quickly and efficiently were shown to our rooms, they had our booking ready and there were no problems, they had even prepared with mosquito repellant incense outside the doors. Rooms were neat and clean, but simple. The outdoor area however is beautifully decorated and lush with green plants and ponds, and right on the other side of the fence is a big green park - which we unfortunately only got a glimpse of.

Service was great, there is a water kettle near the reception area which we used to fill up for mixing baby formula, and a moment later the staff came over with an extra one for us to have in the room. Food and drinks are very decently priced and if they don't have something in stock, they will go buy it for you.

Being a family of five, with the maximum allowed baggage stocked full for our return, the hotel staff pointed out that it would not fit in even one of the large taxis available and asked if they should book three taxis for us, and we agreed. This was something we had not thought of (a friend with a pick-up drove us there) and would not have realized until it was time to leave for the airport, had they not pointed it out.

Room Tip: Bring extra mosquito repellent to keep safe! and... stay a day or two if your schedule can afford i...

This hotel is in a beautiful location not far from the airport. One drawback is that there is not much to do locally but is very good for airport overnight. I found the service excellent; the staff were very helpful and polite. They spoke good English and nothing was a trouble. The prices were excellent value. The rooms were normal size and very clean and had everything needed. I have only one complaint and that is the cable TV programmes. Management seems to seems to be a bit mean when it comes to providing room entertainment. As I said there is nothing much to do outside the hotel so you rely on what is available in the room particularly in the evening. Aside from the non - entertaining Thai channels there was only 4 other channels and they were news channels. Nothing for the children like a cartoon channel, no wildlife channel, no movie channels etc. so no entertaining for non Thai adults. A night in the room is mostly a boring experience. The proprietors should do better than this even it does cost them a little more. This was the worst TV channel selection I have ever experienced in Bangkok and I visit every 6 weeks. No excuse for this shortcoming and cost savings is not an excuse.

Room Tip: Try for a room with a balcony overlooking the beautiful lake.

I have stayed at the Suphan Lake Hometel for several times in 2012 and 2013, including a stay of a month. The rooms are large and very bright, clean and modern. The staff is superb and helpful. While most speak only Thai, there is always at least someone who speaks good English on hand. The location is in a residential neighborhood so you will always have to take a hotel car or taxi (or public transportation) to get to anywhere you might want to see in Bangkok but if you want to sample some true Thai living and cuisine and street restaurants and shopping bazaars of Bangkok, this is your little sanctuary amidst it all. I would especially want to mention its suitability for longer stays. Because the rooms are large, the hotel has a nice restaurant/cafe, all overlooking the lake and a recreational park, the surroundings are peaceful and serene. Don't worry about the hotel being classified an 'airport' hotel - this is about as far from the airport as can reasonably still be called an airport hotel - you can see the airplanes landing in the distance, when viewed from the balcony, but you can't even hear the airplanes, they are that far away. What some may like and some may be surprised, is the amount of animal sounds you hear at night, including the often surprisingly loud bullfrogs - there is a lot of water in Bangkok and this hotel is by a lake. I found it very endearing, again something you don't usually find at any hotel 'in a city'..

This hotel is located way outside the city, rooms are uninspired, breakfast was barely edible....but I guess this is to be expected for $30 a night. Reception staff was helpful and spoke a bit more English than your typical Thai hotel. The surroundings reminded me of Zero Dark Thirty with abandoned buildings and electrical wires hanging everywhere. And there's an outdoor workout park for older folks blaring Thai radio early in the morning. No english-speaking TV channels. Located near nothing so expect to take a taxi if you want to escape.

Sure, they have a free airport transfer, but so do many other hotels in better neighborhoods.

Stayed for 2 night on the way home as near to the airport & wish we could have stayed longer.
The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable with a large balcony overlooking the garden and a park with a lake. It's a very pretty location for Bangkok and really quite peaceful although there are plenty of local eateries within a 5min walk along with a small market and a 7/11
Although it's by no means central, a taxi to Grand Palace was 300bht and 150bht to the airport if you don't have a transfer included.
Breakfast was good quality and served with a smile, tea, coffee & water are provided free in the rooms.
The staff were all very happy and helpful providing extra pillows when requested.
I'de recommend this hotel to anyone and we will be using it again when next in Bangkok

Room Tip: Think they're all good but overlooking the garden was lovely
