Hansar Bangkok Hotel
Ranked #44 of 889 Hotels in Bangkok
Reviewed 11 January 2012

After I read positive reviews from Agoda and TripAdvisor, I booked this hotel thru Agoda, instead of SLH site, because Agoda provided super low special promotion at that time ($150 for Studio including tax and service charge).
I stayed for 5 nights for relaxation and recharging after heavy work for last few months.
This hotel fits very well to my purpose for holiday and I enjoyed 100%.

1. Location
Taxi driver might not find Hansar so you may ask Four Season or Hyatt Erawan (they are very close by). Other wise, public transportation is good. BTS station is in 3 min walking. You can move to Siam (1 station away) or Silom direction. For Sukumvitt direction, you can transfer at Siam station or walk little more (10-15 min) and take a sky train at Chitlom BTS station.

2. Pool/Gym
Two important features when I decide whether I stay. Pool is located at 8th fl. with a bar and shower/sauna facility. It gives infinite pool and long enough to enjoy swimming. Maybe it lacks fancy variation with tree and flowers though, it is simple and clean (think of modern Zen style). Gym is right beside of swimming pool with full glass door and wall so that you can see through everything outside. Facilities (Life Fitness) are managed well (not broken one) and I guess they can be categorized into three major groups, pilates, muscle and cardiovascular work. There are plenty of towels and free bottled water.

3. Studio room (entry level)
It has huge space for room itself and storage areas. Room is separated from bathroom with sliding doors. Separate kitchen and study sections are near the main door. The bed and living room are combined and represent as main area of the room.
Washer/dryer (provided with a detergent and a softener) was very useful if you easily get sweated under the BKK weather. Mini-bar was free with sodas, beers and bottled water with few snacks, but not fancy since they are free. Bathroom was great with separated rain shower room and soaking bath. Room service will clean your room 2 times a day to maintain neat and fresh.

4. Service
From various level of managers and service personals including room service and doorman, they are all kind and greet you whenever they see you. They make you feel that you are a important guest in every way.

5. Others
Hansar provides bakery with simple cooked meal, restaurant, and evening bar. I only used bakery daily for coffee and some goodies in daytime. It was excellent and has special discount after 5 or 6pm. Hansar locates inside of branch street from a main road. You can wander around here and there (you can find Four Season Hotel, Courtyard Marriott, Grand Center Point hotel, St. Regis, and many others near by. Most of them seem condominium or served residents. Due to that, there are small 24/7 stores around this area. If you are talented in direction, you will find a winding alley that you can reach to Langsuan road, which many fancy restaurant and shops are. On this way, you will find a small home-style cafe called "Re-Cafe" in middle of nowhere. I liked this place a lot and stopped by once a day. I wish you will find the same charm as I did.

P.S. I will add Korean-version of review soon.

요약하면, 너무나 좋은 호텔에 서비스. 모든 면에서 만족 합니다.
같은 가격이면 이곳을 강추 합니다.

Room Tip: I guess entire hotel is quiet because of its location. Studio might be great enough for solo/couple...

Fantastic hotel and warm welcome...
We stayed at the VERTIGO suite for 3 nights.. it was a real nice experience
The location of the hotel is perfect and the concierges are very efficient
Maybe 2 things to improve to touch the perfection...
No expresso machine in the suite
No ice machine available in the hotel and the bar team is not helpful especially at closure time

My main isue while istayed with hansar is their poorly trained staff with no hold on english language...

This becones terrible right from making reservations to checking out, many times I had to draw things at their restaurant or reception to make them understand. For example non spicy I would draw a chilly and cross on top of that

since I travel for business internet takes priority --- well sorry it doesnt work there.

If you call for duty manager he / she will never come online, I ask to organsie taxis, the cab driver starts negotiating in front of the staff standing outside.

Well last but not the least my check out took 25 Minutes - they couldnt get my billing right, there were fauty charges etc.
Horrible. I wont recommend anyone stay there ....

The hotel promises for greenery... however rooms have views of only concrete buildings .

The major disappointment was from staff ... quite slow . And cafe boca is quite average ...Overall not value for money.

I have travelled to Bangkok several times and love trying out new places and have stayed till now in some very memorable great hotels however I am not returning back to Hansar..

I can’t recommend the Hansar highly enough. After reading all the reviews on Trip Advisor, I had extremely high expectations going in, and I was worried that it wouldn’t be worth the money. It was! The Hansar exceeded my expectations in every way. There are so many perks to staying there that I’m finding it difficult to remember them all. We booked the Business Traveler package, which meant we were picked up at the airport in a BMW 5 series. That thrilled my friend. We were also immediately handed cold bottles of water, which thrilled me. We had booked an Urban Suite, but even though we were only staying at the Hansar for one night, they upgraded us to a Vertigo Suite (without us asking and at no additional charge). The suite was beautiful and absolutely enormous with great views of the city. They also gave us a discount at the spa as part of a monthly promotion, which regrettably we did not have time to take advantage of; a voucher for a free cocktail at the bar; and a voucher for 20% off at the hotel restaurants. The rooms have free wireless Internet and a free minibar which is restocked daily. They delivered fresh fruit and more bottled water to the room in the afternoon.

The kitchen is open 24/7, which is great when you wake up in the middle of the night jet-lagged and hungry. We ordered room service a couple times and ate at the Vue. Everything was delicious. It was some of the best food we had while we were in Thailand. The bathroom had a deep tub and a waterfall shower. The bed was roughly the size of my first apartment and was extremely comfortable. It was exactly what we needed after a 30-hour journey to get to Bangkok.

I visited Bangkok once before many years ago, and I remember it being a miserable experience. Everything about it was stressful and a major hassle. Thanks to the Hansar I have only fond memories of this visit and can’t wait to return.
