“Problems with the room”
Reviewed 2 March 2012

Stayed for 5 days / 4 nights in a studio suite. We had some problems with the room:
1. ) The toilet would not flush properly (had residual waste / toilet paper, no matter how many times you flushed) throughout our stay. We did call for them to fix it twice and the hotel did try to fix it and also issued an apology letter and gave us some very nice chocolates as an apology. But it still didn't flush properly, in fact some of the water would spray up on to the seat, so we started having to lift the seat up to prevent it from getting wet after each flush). Anyway, we gave up trying to fix it after the third day and just lived with it. On hindsight, I think we should have asked to change rooms (unless of course this is the same in all the rooms). Also, if the hotel couldn't fix the problem properly, I think they should have offered us another room.

2.) Lights in the room could not be switched off. First it was the lights in the study area / kitchen area, which I think they fixed by removing the bulbs (there are two sets of lights in this area). The second time, the lights in the vanity area next to the bathroom area could not be turned off. We called them to fix this and this time it was fixed somehow.

3.) Water temperature of the shower is hard to adjust, either too hot or too cold despite numerous adjustments.

Good points of this hotel:
1.) I found the service in this hotel (aside from their handling of the problem with the room) generally to be very good. Very helpful, attentive, informative and the english spoken is good.

2.) Location is okay, 1 minute walk from Rachadamri BTS. But almost no conveniences nearby the hotel (there is one convenience store in the hotel across the road). I would prefer to stay in a hotel where there are more shops around, but that is my personal preference, this hotel's location has its own benefits.

We spent Valentines day, our first night in Bangkok at the Hansar and didn't go out. We have stayed at many large 5 star hotels in Asia and the Hansar is really up there with the top notch ones. What I appreciate the most about this hotel is the special attention to detail and warm service that is often found lacking in the big hotels. Extra brownie points from us for the inclusion of a washing machine in the room. The rooms are beautifully furnished and spacious.

The spa treatments were offering a 30% discount so I went and got a hot stone massage with a free feet reflexology. The final discounted price wasn't as cheap as I thought it would be especially after the addition of taxes but I still highly recommend setting a side 2 hours to get pampered like royalty.

We weren't too hungry so went down to Vue for a light meal. As we sat down we were told that drinks were buy one get one free. Two mocktails, two entree sized pastas and a mocha later the bill came to $AUD40, when we questioned about the mocktails then it was explained it had to be the same drinks for buy one get one free. I thought they could have stated this in the beginning to avoid confusion.

The breakfast was wonderful, we were excited to see mangosteens and dragon fruit on offer. The spread isn't as big as other hotels, but all of top quality.

We requested a later check out at 1pm so we could take a dip in the pool after breakfast, the roof top pool is surrounded by apartments so it kind of felt like you were being watched.

Our stay at Hansar was the perfect start to our Bangkok trip, if only we could have stayed longer.

Stayed for 2 nights in an East Wing Suite. From the moment you walk in the door you know this place is a class above the norm in Bangkok. Very modern styling, the lighting is done just right and the rooms are amazing. Nice touches like the glass greenhouse in your room entry to the free mini bar and open plan rain shower make your stay memorable. The breakfast buffet at first looks sparse until you realise your bacon, eggs, vegetables, sausages etc are cooked fresh to order. The spa is very relaxing and the pool area an oasis in this mad bustling city. I highly recommend this hotel for either business or leisure travellers. Will be back again and again.

Spent a four-day weekend in the Hansar Bangkok. It had been recommended by a friend who'd stayed there, and I like the Tablet Hotel brand. Loved the high tech style of the suite-like rooms. The bathroom was high tech with glass walls and wood decor, and can be closed off from the adjoining bedroom. Both the bedroom and the sitting room have large flat screen TVs, and the desk set up- in black stone and leather- was superb. Did I mention the service? Discrete, polite, helpful and courteous. Breakfast was excellent and the pool beautiful in green tiles. Can't say enough for the place.

Room Tip: All rooms are suites, I think.

My husband and I stayed at this wonderful Hotel in late November 2011. We stayed in one of the Urban suites on the top floor. The moment we arrived at the hotel we felt like royalty, the service was amazing and nothing was too much trouble for the very friendly staff. Our room surpassed our expectations. The interiors are designed superbly with each element working together to create an atmosphere for luxurious relaxation. The internal garden wall is a fabulous touch, considering there is not much natural greenery to be seen around the hotel. The bathroom was lovely, the bath wonderful. The bed was very comfortable. The free mini bar was such a nice touch and it was restocked every day, plus we could ask for more if we wanted. The buffet breakfast was really nice, different to more western style hotels but that is not a bad thing. The food was fresh and the coffee was wonderful. The hotel is right near one of the sky train stations which is very convenient and maps were available from the concierge. The only thing i can fault had to do with the free "happy Hour" of an evening. Unlike some hotels we have stayed in where they give you a card stating that you are entitled to this we were not given anything. The first two nights we had to follow up this inclusion each time we entered the bar. However it was only a slight annoyance and once the lovely staff had sorted it out we really enjoyed it. The other thing we found was that the tours offered by the hotel were very expensive; not too much of a problem though as we just went to a tour agent in one of the shopping centers. Overall we were thrilled with this hotel. We would stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: We had a room at the end of the corridor and it was extremely quiet, we never heard any noise from a...

Beautiful hotel amidst the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Complimentary mini bar was a nice touch. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. Definitely try the rooftop pool, cannot be beat. One of the nicest rooftop pools I have ever been. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

My wife and I stayed at the Hansar hotel during our two night stay in Bangkok. We really enjoyed getting to use the rooftop pool and our overall stay was good. They have a 7-11 across the street which is convenient for getting snacks. Staff did a great job of setting up excursions for us.
