“Very convenient, clean, well run”
Reviewed 23 January 2014

Spacious and very clean rooms and we found the location to be excellent for access to the BTS skytrain and airport link train. Beds are quite hard, but no different from many in Thailand. Management was efficient. No complaints and very good value.
We did not eat in their restaurants.
Easy to find: From the airport link train, continue walking in the direction the train was heading and descend the farthest stairs, walk forward heading for the major street ahead and when you arrive, turn right, for one block. Just past the Florida Hotel on your right take the zebra crossing on your left, then advance a few steps on the other side and turn 90degrees to your right. Use the crosswalk lights to cross this divided road and then the zebra crossing to make the final crossing. Once on the other side, turn right for two blocks or so until soi (alley) 12 will be on your left -- there is a well marked sign. The hotel is half way down the ally, on your right. There is a 24 hour mini mart a few doors further down the soi. (The alley may look a bit scary, but it is fine.) The stairs for the BTS skytrain are right in front of the Florida Hotel.
We used the skytrain and airport link to combine with river boats to go to all the major sites in our three days in Bangkok, and never had to hire a taxi. Staying out of the traffic and avoiding the protests and demonstrations made for a carefree few days and allowed us to use our time well.

Room Tip: Because it is off the major road, I suspect that most or all of the rooms are quiet. A lower floor...

Thoroughly recommend. Quite, more or less five star rooms with a three star rating. The location is not salubrious but it is quite and no problems of any sort. If you use a google map coming from the airport link, the directions are from precise but we worked through that o'k.

The only complaint was the bed corners. They are good big firm beds set on a large wooden base about 100 mm above the floor. The base sticks out about 150 mm from the mattress. This means there is a sharp corner shin high which my wife managed to encounter. Once you have it in the back of your mind it is no worries. ideally though the corners would be rounded to about 100 mm radius.

Don't let that put you off though. Just be aware. Great place to sleep, Good BTS access lovely $6.00 breakfast up in exotic restaurant. Good free wifi, 4 nights for AU $293, Definite value for money

Room Tip: dunno we stayed in 410. did the trick.

Because it was my first trip to BKK (and out of the country!), I spent over two months researching on where to go and good hotels to stay in. True Siam Hotel lives up to the raving reviews and the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2012 and 2013. The hotel is small compared to others, with 65 rooms available in several floors but worth your money since it isn't expensive at all.

There's a small lift, big enough for around 4-5 people with luggage/trolleys to the right of the reception, and a set of stairs as well. The hotel is very clean and well decorated, quiet because it's located in a small alley (Soi) off the two main roads: Rangnam Road and Si Ayuttaya (which is intersected by Phaya Thai). Sometimes you can hear thuds from the floors above if the guests are very rambunctious (but nothing to be worried about, I assure you.)

We booked two standard rooms with agoda.com for three nights without breakfast and the bill was only 12,700 PHP for both rooms (around 280-90 USD). Since I requested for one room with a king bed and one with twin beds, they gave us a free upgrade on the twin room (from standard to superior) so our rooms could be next to each other. Standard rooms only have king beds (yes king, not queen or double, a legit king bed). The mattress is very firm (I personally love firm mattresses), with soft pillows and a thick comforter. All the rooms are equipped with one of those big overhead airconditioners and a remote control is provided to adjust the temperature.

All rooms have a flat screen TV as well. There are a few English channels (Lotus Macau, Diva Universal, BBC, and MTV). There's KBS2 (with English subtitles) too. There's a telephone you can use to call other rooms or the reception and room service. Their standard rooms are pretty big, 30 square meters according to the hotel website, and the superior rooms are even bigger. The rooms are equipped with a wooden cabinet (with sliding doors), a small dresser with a chair (which is actually an ottoman), a mirror (with an overhead light), a chair/set of chairs and a coffee table, and a side table with a lamp. The floors are made of cream-colored tile (no carpet), but there is a bathroom mat in front of the bathroom door.

The bathroom is fine, with a shower (with sliding doors), a toilet with a bidet, sink with mirror, and an overhead rack for towels (two big towels and two face towels that are replaced everyday). The standard room is given free tissue, shower/conditioner and shower gel, shower caps, and a small hand soap everyday. The superior room is given all that plus 2 toothbrushes
and toothpaste everyday (according to my aunts).

If you want to have your room cleaned when you go out, just hang the sign on the door knob. The room is always clean with complete with complimentary items when we arrive late afternoon or evening. Speaking of service, the service at True Siam Hotel is great! They have a small staff but they are always very accommodating. The staff at the reception is great at English (not fluent but communication was never an issue). There are two Pinoy/Filipino staff members (special mention to Adam and John who helped us with getting around!). Also, prepare to deposit 1000 BHT or its equivalent in USD (or other major foreign currencies) for the key (yes, a key, not a key card). We paid the room already via agoda.com but the deposit is still needed (and returned when you check out).

Note for Pinoys: Kung Pinoy kayo o nagtatagalog, hindi kayo magkakaproblema kasi may Pinoy na staff, si Adam and John. Super bait nila! Big thanks to them. :)

Special notes:
> The only bad thing I have to say is that the hotel located in a small alley off the two main roads. I personally had no problem with this because it's literally a 2 minute walk to reach the main roads.
> Room service is great! We personally loved the menu the hotel offered (and seeing as my family caters, I have a very particular palate); they have western and Thai dishes. You have to order their Thai food at least once. Buffets are available for 200 BHT.
> The area is pretty quiet, a 5-10 minute TukTuk/Taxi ride to Platinum Fashion Mall along Petchaburi Rd. (Petchaburi is the next road parallel to Si Ayuttaya), or a roughly 20 minute walk. However, if you go to Rangnam Road (turn right once you get out of the hotel), there is a King Power Duty Free (the main Duty Free mall in BKK) to your right and a movie complex/mall to the left (just cross Rangnam Road and walk to the left, it's on the corner that intersects Phaya Thai Rd.).

Regarding BTS/ARL:
> To get to this hotel from Suvarnabhumi Airport, just go down to the basement level and ride the ARL Express or City Line to Phaya Thai station (the last station). Express tickets (no stops, takes 17-20 minutes) are 90 BHT (I used the machine to get tickets) and the City Line tickets (makes a few stops, takes less than 30 minutes) are 45 BHT. Once you get to the basement level, the Express train is on the left and the City Line is on the right. Get off at Phaya Thai station and you can either use the escalator or elevator. If you used the escalator, take Exit 4 on the BTS (you have to cross the big bridge to the BTS) and walk along Phaya Thai road, cross Si Ayuttaya road and turn right. You'll see Soi number 12 on your left, The Sukosol Hotel is on that corner as well. True Siam Hotel is along that alley. If you took an elevator, take it to the ground floor, you'll see the main road (Phaya Thai) on your right. Walk up to Phaya Thai Rd. and turn right, keep going straight, cross Si Ayuttaya, and turn right until Soi 12 (which is on your left).
> To get back to the Suvarnabhumi airport, just use the same elevator and get up to C level (concourse) to buy tickets.
> If you're taking a taxi, the website offers a map or you can just tell your driver Sukosol Hotel (Previously known as Siam City Hotel). Before reaching the hotel, tell the driver to turn left on Soi 12 along Si Ayuttaya. You can also tell the driver King Power Duty Free but he'll turn on Rangnam Road. The other side of Soi 12 is one-way, so you'll have to walk to the hotel.
> The movie complex I mentioned is connected to the BTS (Victory Monument station) on the second floor. You can use the Phaya Thai station of the BTS as well (cross Si Ayuttaya and go up either staircases on Phaya Thai Road).

VERDICT: When I go back to BKK, I will definitely staff at this hotel again. Excellent service (especially since there are Pinoys), great rooms, and accessible location. I didn't have a hard time getting around at all! Besides, if there are any problems with transportation, you can just take the BTS or the ARL to get to places.

Room Tip: The rooms are exactly the same as the other traveler photos. One person who stayed actually videoed...

A friend and I stayed at True Siam hotel for 3 nights, and found our stay at the hotel pleasant. The check in was smooth though we were asked to deposit 1000 baht against our room. The hotel doesn’t accept card for this fully refundable deposit but does accept cash payment in other popular currencies such as USD or SGD.

Our room itself was spacious and clean. The bathroom was also clean but was not the largest though comfortable in size. We had daily breakfast with our room booking so had breakfast at the hotel at the restaurant which is slightly separate from the main building. The spread offered is simple and basic though tasty.

The location of the hotel is walking distance of 5min from the Paya Thai train station which has the BTS and the airport link. Although the hotel is in a lane off the main roads, it is easy to navigate with the directions card available at the hotel lobby.

There is a supermarket, 7-11, restaurants, food stalls and massage pallor near the hotel. Just turn left when you come out of the hotel and walk straight to the main road. The massage pallor next to the 7-11 and is open till 11pm. I highly recommend the foot massage which is 200 baht for an hour.

I have been to Bangkok many times, and tried the True Siam this time. Huge rooms, very clean. As advertised it is a few minutes walk from Phaya Thai station. It is very conveniently located for entry into the city from the airport. Helpful and friendly staff. I would stay here again.

True Siam is about 5 minutes walk from the direct Skytrain from the airport. That, plus the fact it is down a quiet lane, makes it a good place to stay after or before a long flight.
It is clean, comfortable, and has good size rooms with fridge and AC.
The immediate neighborhood is a bit dull, but there are plenty of bars and restaurants within a 15 minute walk.
We did not use the dining room which has a 200 THB breakfast buffet.

Room Tip: Some rooms overlook a light well or corridor. Ask for a room with a balcony instead.
