“British Airways Fuel leak finds surprise package”

Having to evacuate a plane on the ground at Bangkok Airport because its overflow valve is leaking fuel, and then having to sit for four hours to finally be allowed back on the plane to retrieve hand luggage, wait for another 45 minutes for the other off loaded luggage usually would not be a good introduction to a hotel. BA had finally arranged hotel accommodation at the Grand Four Wings, being exhausted by that time, I did not want to wait another 40 minutes for the arranged bus to arrive, had one of the staff write the name in Thai and headed for the taxis. Oblivious as to where the taxi was taking me, as both the driver and the dispatcher said they knew the hotel we set of to arrive 35 minutes later at the Four Wings in Sukhumvit, unfortunately not the Grand Four Wings, they then directed the taxi back towards the airport and I arrived 30 minutes later at the Grand Four Wings, at the same time as the buses, but 500 Thai Baht poorer. With all of the other passengers descending onto the reception I thought that it would be hours before I could finally get some rest. But their staff was unflappable, treated everyone with friendliness and respect, and I was in my room 5 minutes later, a brilliant effort. The room was extremely spacious, the bathroom huge with a wonderful shower, and the bed one of the better hotel beds I have slept in. The restaurant handled this sudden influx of guests extremely well, and for an emergency fill up of the hotel they really knew how to handle this situation. Check out that evening to continue with the 27 hour delayed flight was a breeze, and yes, I took the arranged bus back to the airport,

I stayed at FourWings hotel for one night with my family.
Our room was connecting and it's spacious inside for 3 people.
The most convenient thing of this hotel is that it takes about 15 minutes from Suvarnabhumi International Airport and we can use free shuttle bus service between the airport and the hotel. We arrived Bangkok airport around the midnight and left for the airport 11 a.m. on that day for transit.
This hotel is very spacious and comfortable. As for bathroom, shower and bath tub are simple to use. The bed room and living area are spacious enough to do stretch exercise.
Although there were many tourist in the restaurant for breakfast, we could have many choice and everything was delicious. In particular, pan cake was good !!
Until this time I had not known that there was this kind nice hotel near the airport. From now on, I will stay at this hotel whenever we go to visit Bangkok for transit.

We stayed here for 1 night as we layover for our flight back to MNL. The package we book included breakfast.

Hotel:

The hotel is located near the airport in the Bangkapi area. However, don't expect a 5min ride as the shuttle without traffic will still take around 15mins. Be prepared for more wait if it's the rush our. In our case, it was rush hour and it took roughly around 30-45 mins to get to the hotel from the airport.

As other reviewers mentioned, it's quite far from the city center and to the major attractions of Bangkok. There is a 50-60baht mall away from the hotel. You can walk there however if you choose.

The hotel interior is brand new and they have very spacious lobby.

Amenities/Facilities:
The hotel has a fitness center and a pool. However, I wish they had a sauna too.

The pool was amazing. You should try to spend time in the pool and just relax to the Bangkok scene below.

They include free wifi access for every pax in your party. However, it's limited to one access per device.

Room:

Our room is the grand deluxe with two beds. The beds are good size for a twin. It's comfortable and we had a good night sleep.

Room size is very big. I can compare the size almost to Venetian/Palazzo in Las Vegas suite. All the room furniture are new and they even have an ipod/iphone alarm clock/dock for your convenience.

Service and staff:

Hotel airport pick-up was breeze even though our flight was delayed by an hour and our baggage took sometime. The van was ready within 5 mins and we are off to the airport.

On our check-out date, we schedule the shuttle for a 10pm ride to the airport and we had no problems.

The front desk spoke fluent English and questions were answered promptly. The concierge was very helpful as well when we asked for directions and travel tips to the Bangkok sites.

Also, we were thankful that they allowed as to take a shower in the fitness center after checkout. Our flight was 12am.

They also gave us free welcome drinks and a welcome fruit platter which I think is a nice touch.

Food:

The breakfast spread was delicious and it included a lot of variety. It's truly a 5-star breakfast experience. They even have a espresso/latte machine. Food is mostly western though with some Thai and Oriental food mixed in. They also have an egg station that served excellent omelets.

Overall: Big rooms. Great service. Would definitely be back here on my next trip to BKK.

Room Tip: Grand Deluxe rooms are very big. If you have travelling as a family, you could just ask for extra b...

Pros:
+ Good service, also on arrival
+ Quick check-in
+ Modern and nice rooms
+ Dry and comfortable beds
+ Good cleaning
+ Nice and convenient bathroom
+ Comprehensive and varied breakfast
+ Convenient airport shuttle service

Cons:
-Boring restaurant menu, and few other opportunities
-Slippery tiles in and around the nice, but small pool
-Wifi service provides the only opportunity to have a device offline simultaneously, inconvenient when one is two and both have both smartphone and computer
-A little lamp illuminates the curtains for a while after the curtains are drawn, even if you turn off all other lights. A bit frustrating, but it turns of after approximately 30 minutes.

I stayed in this hotel on 8 - 10 March 2012

This hotel is very good!! four stars hotel with five stars facilities, rooms are very big, bath room see through from room with curtain.
all five stars facilities : big king size bed, fit 3 adults, big LCD tv, free wifi or LAN internet, iPod docking with alarm, very nice hotel with reasonable price.

Lobby is so large, cafe 24 hours (Smoking/Non Smoking), nothing in surrounding area just massage and small family mart near gas station.

Breakfast is good, many variations.

Highly recommended for who wants to attend conference or visiting industry, but not recommended for shoppers.

A thoroughly pleasant experience.
We chose this hotel as a convenient first night stay near the airport. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The room was very well appointed and comfortable, the restaurants were inviting and we had some very good food in the evening as well as a good a la carte breakfast. The staff at reception and in the restaurants were very helpful and pleasant and efficient.
We were particularly impressed by the excellent value for money that this hotel represents and are able to recommend it without hesitation.

The hotel is much used by airlines after connection problems an this is how we got here. The hotel is very new with beautiful, very luxurious rooms. It offers a very extensive buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Internet is available. Travel to the airport is about 20 min. by shuttle; a taxi takes you in 5 minutes to the train running between the airport and the city. Staff is helpful and experienced in managing flight connections. As the accommodation was paid for by our airline I can't judge the price/quality ratio.

Room Tip: All rooms are good
