The staffs' English is a bit hard to understand but i didnt expect too much since this is just a budget hotel. Room is nice and cozy and clean. The breakfast buffe is boring. The only minus point is that during my stay the air-con was broken and they failed to fix it for me and i couldnt sleep well that night.

We booked two rooms in this hotel last July 1-4, 2014. We were satisfied with the overall amenities of the hotel. The money we paid was worth it. The breakfast was decent. Although it did not change except I guess for the rice. We ate twice inside the hotel and it was okay but the serving was small. The taxi service for the airport was reliable. The rooms were cleaned everyday. I think the problem was when we were about to check in at 12 am in the morning the front desk staff was so rude. She didnt welcome us very well. And also not VERY near to the bts and shopping malls.

We stayed in the Shanghai Mansions in Bangkok for two nights on 3rd and 4th July 2014. It is situated in the center of throbbing Chinatown which is hectic, chaotic, noisy and busy but the hotel is a little oasis of calm in the center of it all. The staff greeted us with a warm welcome, a glass of fruit punch and a cool towel. From the minute we arrived until we left nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Tui in particular was a little gem, she was so informative and went out of her way to ensure we had directions and information for the sights we wanted to visit. She worked very hard to make sure our trip pleasant and stress-free and we found her a delight to engage with.
The hotel is 10-15 minutes walk from the river boat ferry and most of the main attractions can be accessed this way very cheaply.

The hotel located at Patchabury, there's some hotel named bangkok city on that street, but this said to be the best among them (our driver said). In walking distance to Platinum, Big C, MBK, and alot other shopping place around. The room is clean, aircon works very well..but please close the bathroom door so you won't get dizzy by the echoing bee's like sound. Noisy, soundproof is not so good, you can hear neighbour closes door, traffic, etc. Overall still very good.

We, a family of 4, are very thankful to the hotel staff esp. Assist. Manager Joe for their helpfulness and courtesy in time of needs. My daughter had food poisoning symptom the very minute she arrived in Bangkok on 21 June after taking 8 oysters in one of the Japanese outlet in Singapore the night before. She had to see a doctor in Rama Hospital immediately after checking into hotel. Throughout the 4D/3N stay, she couldn't eat anything & she could only stay in the hotel room. On the 3rd day, my daughter wanted to take porridge & Joe did his best to find porridge for her cos the hotel didn't serve Chinese-style of porridge. Thank you again, Joe. You did a great job!
If we were to come back again, definitely we will have Bangkok City Hotel in our mind.
