First of all, I have to say a big THANK YOU to Tor and his staff, they were absolutely incredible during our stay. My husband and I stayed in a studio apartment for 7 nights on our first trip to Bangkok and loved it. It was exceptionally well priced, (10,500 BAHT for 7 nights). The room was clean and tidy, the room was cleaned and towels were changed daily, the air conditioner was awesome and kept our room at a very pleasant temperature.

The B and B is easy to find and is so close to the Central Pier and Saphin Taskin BTS sky train station, that getting around is a breeze. It is also within walking distance of some of Bangkok's best restaurants, we especially loved Queen of Curries.

Tor met us when we checked in, took us through a number of the good restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel and advised us about what we should do and what we should avoid. There was a washing machine and dryer downstairs where you could do your laundry for about 100Baht (for a massive load of clothes).

When I was quite ill with food poisoning, they arranged a taxi to the nearest private hospital and made sure we were well taken care of. I will be forever grateful for this.

If you want to stay somewhere more personable than the big name brand hotels and in a central location, stay here. We will be back for long stays in Bangkok.

We stayed there for 4 nights at the beginning of our trip and had a wonderful experience. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The location was also great for accessing the BTS Skytrain and the water taxi. Tor was amazingly helpful - prior to arriving in Bangkok, he emailed us a detailed map, a picture of the building, and directions written in Thai for the taxi driver to take us from the airport to the hotel. Throughout our stay, he was helpful in providing recommendations and making sure we were comfortable. We also received two bottles of water and clean towels each day. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Bangkok!

Just within 5 mins walk to Bts Saphan taksin and very near to the chao phraya central river pier-boat to many of the ancient temple in Thailand including the grand palace. Staff are excellent and friendly. My check in details were prepared before I arrived. Mr Tor the hotel manager attended to my enquiries around 11pm at night, although he can't help me but he provided me a solution. Room is excellent, clean and quiet. There's some very minute cleanliness issue in my room that is not a problem at all- just tell the lady. And the coined laundry including drying cost less than 100bht. There's no breakfast served, but there are plenty of restaurants, 7-11, McD and Robinson store nearby. I will definitely come back again!

Everything was perfect about this place. Great room, very clean, modern, close to the BTS and to the Central Pier and Tor really is an excellent host! The guesthouse is located in a very good neighborhood with everything you might need in walking distance. We highly recommend this place and next time we're in Bangkok, we'll go back there. Even if it's only to see Tor and the rest of the staff at Sathorn Terrace!

It's actually not that easy to find a good, reasonably priced hotel that has quiet rooms (there is a highway nearby, but you cannot hear it) and from which you do not have to shlep a kilometer through grime and heat to the nearest metro station. This hotel has all these qualities. It also has a very cute fluffy cat stalking its corridors and lobby

Escape at Sathorn is conveniently located just 2 blocks from the nearest Sky Train station (Saphon Taksin) and 3 blocks from the boat terminal on the Chao Phraya River. In spite of its proximity to the Sky Train (from our window we could see the trains up close on the elevated track outside), the trains are so quiet that we never heard them. Our room (#9 upstairs) had an excellent layout for charging electronic gear (a long shelf under the room's high windows, with plenty of outlets). The room was clean and bathroom and shower were excellent. The price (for Bangkok) is very reasonable. Be aware that in spite of what Trip Advisor's description says, this hotel does NOT offer breakfast or have a restaurant. That's no problem, though, as there are lots of stalls and restaurant on nearby streets. On the whole, an excellent budget choice.

For the most part of the trip, I stayed in this FANTASTIC boutique hotel in Bangkok called Escape at Sathorn Terrace. There are so many things to love about it: starting with the jacuzzi tub, and Thor, the hotel manager who even treated me to a free tour and dinner — and lastly, its location was just incredible.

GREAT SERVICE: This hotel was safe, spacious, spotless, and they would always go the extra mile in service. If there was a Best Hotel Manager Competition in Asia, I’m sure Thor would be in the running — I swear, he treats you more like a house guest than just some customer. He even took me out to eat at Prachak restaurant (best roasted duck restaurant in Bangkok!) and introduced me to the lady who owns a nearby massage establishment!

LOCATION: It's just a quick turn right off the Charoen Krung road — far enough to be away from the vibrant chaos, but always be just a few skips away from all the action. It’s part Chinatown, part Little India. If you’re the type of traveler who wants to live like a local as much as possible, this is a perfect area to wander about.

Escape at Sathorn is also just 15 to 20 cartwheels away from the BTS station (Saphan Taksin), which made it so convenient to get to anywhere in Bangkok. Sathorn Pier, where you can board the ferry to go places or go on a tour, is also by this BTS station.

VERDICT: I recommend staying in this boutique hotel especially if you’re traveling with friends, or with family. It’s perfect if you’re in Bangkok for a chill vacation, and would like to avoid the tough-lovin’ stress that comes with staying in cheaper backpacker hostels :)
