“Worst hotel we could have chosen to stay in on our last night”
Reviewed 5 December 2013

We had such high hopes for this hotel due to them being so helpful up to the run up of our stay in the hotel - we attended 2 weeks prior to our stay to see if we could leave baggage as we we're heading down to the islands in thailand and sure enough the hotel was most accomodating to our needs. This is where it ended.

We arrived on our night stay in this hotel after booking on booking.com - By mistake myself and my friend both booked for this hotel for 2 rooms 1 night, this was not picked up but the hotel and we have therfore been charged double, had we had enjoyed our stay I can't see why an extra £10 each would be an issue between the 4 of us however due to the imcompitance of the reception staff we feel very sour graped about the matter.

We had 2 rooms - on entry the room looked plush and lovely however one room smelt so strongly of garlic and was horrible for my friends to sleep in and the other had the air conditioning leak through the night causing a huge pool of water to the entrance of the room and with a solid surface almost caused me to trip.

The rooms look lovely and plush as I said on entry however the rooms are so worn... they really really really need some TLC! they are nice rooms but they are not finished to a standard that they should be and it's simple things they can easily do which would make the rooms look lovely and expensive.

Our booking included 1 room for breakfast but the other without due to some issue on booking.com (we had experienced this with another hotel so were fine with this) we knew we then were splitting the cost of the 2 other breakfasts however when going up to breakfast we were refused advising no rooms had breakfast included, this was then checked with the receptionist down stairs - I then went down and had to ask for the confirmation to the booking in order to point out where it states 2 persons breakfast was included however by this point we had no time to go back and eat due to needing to leave for the airport.... The only offering they made was to box the breakfasts up, no refund to make the price of the room equal to one another.

that is we thought we were leaving for the airport! the hotel had failed to arrange our transport as requested the night before, the receptionist made no effort or showed no panic at the thought we were in a rush to get to the airport to check in for our international flight, the only person to make any effort to grap us a taxi was the sercuity man! the receptionists just sat there.

We tried to complain at the hotel about the hotel and although they are Thai they were the best english speaking of all the hotels we stayed in and they understood the complain just refused to do anything about it, I have then come home and written to them by email over a week ago with the complaint - I would have thought as a big chain hotel we would get something back however they have ignored the complaint again. We have now had to write to booking.com in hope of getting some answers and for the complaint to be resolved as I cant honestly understand why the advertise such a rubbish hotel.

Room Tip: Just dont book - thats the best tip I can give.

In the end you get what you pay for. This little hotel is about a 10 walk into the soi, right at the end which guarantees quietness. Rooms are small, but look quite 'hip' at first glance. Biggest pro are the beds, fantastic matrass and duvet! Nice tv with many international channels. Wifi is ok depending on where you stay. Only corner rooms have a window overlooking a grey wall. Had to change rooms as my first room (610, no window) had a faulty water heater. My replacement room (209) was a corner room with window. Upon further inspection the room is somewhat shabby (stained walls and carpet, and a musky smell). Staff is friendly and fixed all problems (second room had water heating issues too, bed side lamp and clock were not working, no toilet paper and no kettle -only tea and coffee but nothing to make hot water-).

Wouldn't go as far as to not recommend this place as the bed is just to die for. Not often have I had such a good sleep. Jsut be aware of other potential (small) problems.

We had a friend who previously stayed here. She was welcomed by friendly Philippines staff and the room was acceptable. However, when she brought us for the second time, it was a nightmare. The new front line staff were a mix of Indian staff and another Philippines staff with their management boss, an Indian man as well. As a owner of the hotel, you should give your guest a warm smile at least. To our horror, we were ignored, none of the staff came to helped us with our bags and the door. That was the beginning.
We booked 2 rooms 610 & 609. Deluxe room. It was terrible, the carpets were stained, the aircon was not working properly, there was power failure several times.

For breakfast, the timing was 7am-10am. We came in at 9am. The serviced staff told us that we should come earlier because the food is almost finishing. We just told them that the breakfast is up till 10am, it is our right to come in the timing we preferred. Anyway, their breakfast spread is basic. Very basic.

The location of the hotel is actually deep inside Sukhumvit Soi 13. None of the taxi drivers know of this existence. It is about 10 mins walking distance to Nana Station.

Overall, I have been to a better 3 -star boutique hotel and I assure future visitors to stop booking at this hotel as you will get disappointed with the service, facilities and location.

I would have given this hotel a solid 3 except for the double charging for the room on my credit card.I am confident this will be sorted out, however it does take away considerably from the experience.

This is a hotel of contrasts and tell down by the details.

The check in area of the foyer is amateur at best. I looks more like a disorganised work station. What appeares to be an all ethnic Indian male staff were friendly and gave good advice and service, double charging not withstanding.

Despite booking a room with twin beds, we were originally placed in a room with a queen size bed. Not so good when you are with a mate, and not your partner.

The location is quite but not the most convenient. The free tuk tuk to Sukhumvit Road does solve that problem to some extent. This section of Sukhumvit Road has cleaned its act up in the last few years, only sellers of fake products in the main, rather than sellers of "other things". However, if you are a female walking the last 100 metres or so at night could be disconcerting. The Soi 13 that leads directly to Sukhumvit Road from the hotel looks dodgy. Better to take a tuk tuk, taxi or walk via Soi 11 that leads directly to Nana Station. Soi 11 has lots of restaurants, hotels and bars etc and seemed quite safe.

The breakfast was of decent quality but had limited choice.

The hotel decor was funky/trendy which was nice but in some ways not functional. For example the bathroom and bedroom are in effect one single room with a frosted glass three quarter glass panel acting as a divider. It looks good but it depends on who you share a room with as it how comfortable you are with this set up. Noise, odour etc are not really contained.

Fantastic bed and pillows. As good as I have ever had so sleep quality was excellent.

Value wise it was Ok with a 60% discount for two nights.

I enjoyed the Bangkok Hiptique Hotel very much.
It is great Boutique Hotel.
The Bed and Room was very comfortable, and I slept like a Baby.
It is Really Excellent.
Near all the action of Bangkok, but Quite, and a Home away from Home.
Laundry service is also offered, there is a rooftop pool also , and there is Tuk Tuk Service.
Aou the Business Development manager is a Real Gentleman , and Makes You feel right at home.
At the Rooftop Restaurant I discovered a new favorite Dish , which is Somtum. There is a nice selection of dishes on the Menu and Pizza Also (Yes , The Best Pizza in Town).
Mr Praveen , the GM is geniuly interested in the guest comfort and service, is very Friendly.
This Hotel is No Joke. There is nothing negative to say about it !
I Hghly recommend this hotel to anyone for a quality stay in Bkk.
