“Good option on Khaosan Road ”
Reviewed 26 April 2014 via mobile

This place didn't blow us away but the location was really the key thing for us. We arrived the day before Songkran (if u haven't heard of Songkran look it up and experience it!)

The location was perfect as we wanted to be right at the heart of the party and also experience the old town of Bangkok. Keep in mind that if you're going for shopping etc you'll be better off closer to Silom.

The room was ok. Nothing spectacular but bathroom was clean and air conditioning worked well. The pool on the roof was a great escape as well. I can't really say anything bad about the staff as in some reviews. They weren't the friendliest we've had in Thailand but they were pleasant enough.

In short, if you're looking for a cheap place right in the heart of the action then this is definitely an option. If you are travelling as a family or want luxury then look elsewhere!

Book online as it's cheaper then booking at the hotel. We paid 900 a night. To book a room at reception is 1350! Basic accomadation, if you want to stay on Khao san road it's fine. Can be noisy at night depending what room your in. Reception staff dnt come across overly friendly but I didn't have much dealings with them. Rooftop pool is nice. Rooms are clean but dated, bathrooms small and the usual shower over the toilet like a lot of Thai hotels. Your lucky if you can make it out of the lobby without the tuk tuk, ping pong show and suit selling brigade pestering you!

A nice hotel that allows you to (somewhat) escape the craziness of Khaosan Road. Although rooms are quite noisy, the roof top pool allows you to lounge and relax. staff are accommodating and helpful. I left an iPod in my room, and from one email I was able to find out that staff had found it and it was waiting for me at the front desk. Those who travel in Asia can understand that this is an extremely rare quality in a hotel/hostel. Many thanks to the staff for their honesty and kindness!

I have stayed here twice before but this is my first review. Ok, this is a hotel in a touristy area and this means that wherever you stay in the hotel there will be noise until the early hours, however it is bearable and I slept easily. In fact, I've never had any problems at this hotel. The rooms are clean, the aircon is excellent and there is a pool on the roof! For £20 per night, I think it's a great deal!

If I bring somebody to Bangkok for the first time, I always take them to Khao San Road because whilst touristy, it's a fun introduction to to Thailand. Most of the nearby bars are very overpriced and loud, however the Hippie Bar near to the Police station is good as are the bars on Rambuttri road, which runs parallel to Khao San. Some of the bars in this area are open 24/7.

This hotel is good for young people, backpackers and couples however if you want a quiet, romantic time I would suggest staying elsewhere. I would advise that this area is not suitable for children.

So, you get what you pay for really! This is hotel for travellers on a budget but in my opinion it's good value and I'll certainly stay here again.

Nearby you have the Grand Palace and the amulet market and the taxi from the airport is around 300-400 Baht.

The reception staff are a sometimes bit rude and surly, however this is Bangkok and customers are transient so i guess they don't have to be. Would you be enthusiastic for 5000 baht per month?

Room Tip: You'll get noise everywhere! - Sorry!!!!

The location of Khao San palace is fantastic couldn't be more central on the Khao San road. Hotel is really clean and air con is amazing which is nice after coming in from a day of sightseeing in the heat.
The hotel has a roof top pool which is nice but does get pretty busy so you often have to wait for a sunlounger.
There is another wing in the hotel that has slightly cheaper rooms that you can only book locally they are also very good just a bit smaller than the rooms in the dearer wing and also its a bit noisier at night, but we stayed in both wings and found them both great.

I stayed here prior to reading any reviews on here, but I found the stay to be highly satisfying. I certainly didn't come across theft from my room or the baggage holding room, or at least none that I've noticed yet. I never had any problems with the staff, and a handyman helped fix room problem with no fuss when fuse went. The noise was also not a problem, but we were towards the back of the hotel. I think these are classed as the 'deluxe' rooms, which are probably worth the extra baht as ks road is loud until the early hours. Having to constantly ask for a new wifi password every time your device disconnects was well annoying though. The pool up top is a nice way to meet young travellers, but the wooden beds are well hard. Overall, a nice stay.
