“A clean, well-run hotel (with swimming pool) in the centre of Khoasan Road”
Reviewed 2 August 2010

Can't really fault this hotel. Booked online and although check in time was stated as 2pm we arrived at 9am and they gave us the room immediately for no extra charge which really impressed us in our tired state! The reception staff were friendly, the rooms were simple but clean and the rooftop pool was a godsend after a day of sightseeing in hot sticky Bangkok. It isn't the cheapest option in the area but we looked at a few of those on our return to Bangkok and ended up here again as we didn't see anything else nearly as nice. Other reviews say its noisy - we didn't find this at all so perhaps it depends where your room is located. All in all, very happy we booked this.

This hotel was definitely nothing special. The bag man wouldnt leave our room with out a tip even though we carried most of our own bags anyway. Hardly tip for service. pool was perculiar and tiny . Other than that used it for one night to sleep .They arranged a cheap shuttle for us to the airport which was a positive. Pritty average would try somewhere else next time.

My friend and i stayed here for 5 days/4 nights. I just got home yesterday actually!
We paid 900 bhat per night for a room with 2 single beds, small shower and tv. It was very simply furnished and quite clean. We pretty much only used the room for sleeping, but my friend had mentioned how it was too noisy from the bars across the street even at 5am! I'm a rather heavy sleeper and heard nothing, so I suggest staying here if you're a heavy sleeper and if not, not intending to get any sleep.

There is no free wifi (at least none we were told of) and the internet is opened till 10pm. However, it was constantly full of people and I could almost never get a spot. I did get one on the second day and discovered it to be incredibly slow. From then on we just used other internet places on khao san.

The pool is tiny and was also very full, but the view was wonderful! you would see the roof of the entire city!

The only problem I would have with this place is that the staff were completely rude and unhelpful. They never smiled, they had no maps, suggestions and acted like taking and putting things into the safe deposit box was too much to ask of them as they were busy sitting and gossiping with eachother. Also, the 400 bhat taxi service ends at 12pm. we booked one from a travel agency for 300 bhat because we weren't leaving until 6pm.

The location is right in the center of khao san so its very convenient for 7-11, shops, and beer/food - but I think the next time I'm in Bangkok I think I'll try a different place for my money's worth.

I stayed here in May 2010 and could find little to fault about this hotel. Nice room, very friendly staff and great swimming pool/Sun deck. I enjoyed staying here and I don't particularly like Khao San Road, WiFi wasn't free but at least it was very cheap and I got a good signal on the 3rd floor.

This hotel has relatively good reviews but I'm assuming the peolpe who stayed here are party go-ers. I had never heard of KhaoSan Road before I was smacked in the face with the vision of Ibiza, Tenerife, Magaluf...and all those other party places.

Khaosan Palace Inn is great if you are planning of clubbing all nigth rather than sleeping. Its right in the heart of the bars and clubs all in competition to get the punters drunk as possible.

We checked out earlier than planned and the hotel were happy enough to refund the nights stay (it must happen a lot). But this place is packed out on a nightly basis anyway.

ps - dont stay here if you are planning on using the pool. Its like sardines in a tin...

a very happy customer who stay at the room 305 on the 2nd of may. We experienced a clean atmosphere, friendly staff and newly equiped with internet wifi and furniture. we stayed here second time which this time we meet a lot of changes. Hotel recently improving their room and service. their location is centrally located on khaosan road.
7 eleven is conviniently located at the hotel's lobby. Very wonderful changes in only a few months time. Now there are a new manager, bell boy and a lot of smiling environment.

We spent there 4 nights and then decided to move to other quieter hotels around Khao San and Soi Rambutri. At first we were hoping to get good, save standard rooms after long trip to Bangkok so 900 BHT per room were acceptable for us. But when we saw that the room is clean but average standard and if your room is facing the street you are not able to sleep until 2-3 am, we decided to move to hotels around Soi Rambutri. Generally I would recommend to have a hotel around quieter street like Rambutri and if you want to go to Khao San you can just walk 3 minutes. For us Khao San was too commercial and Soi Rambutri is more backpacker one, with cheaper food & beer and more asian atmosphere.

Room was ok, we decided to take deluxe double room and the bed was ok but the aircon was in bed condition, very noisy, one of the lamps were out of the order, bathroom was average (we have seen in Thailand better bathrooms for less price).

Pool on the room is small, water looks like a chlorine soup and just 5 deckchairs make the place available for 10-15 peaple maximum, the rest have to wait.

One more thing - photos on the website are the "photoshop" version of reality ;)

But if you want to be in the middle of Khaosan Road, have a good standard room and don't need to sleep - go for it!
