“Modern New Hotel in the Shopping District”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2012

Tucked in a small street you will find The LIT Bangkok. It is a new hotel which is obvious upon seeing the facade. The Architecture of the building is very sleek and modern design sets it apart from the neighboring cheaper hotels in the area.

Just a few minutes walk from the Siam Paragon, MBK, Siam Center, Emporium and Siam Discovery Center this hotel is perfect if you are planning on just shopping your way around Bangkok.

The rooms are kinda small compared to other hotels but that is because the layout of the rooms are very odd. It is like half of it is the bedroom and the other half is of of the bathroom ( as you may notice in the pictures posted )

The hotel gives you free WiFi and you get free breakfast in your stay there. The closest BTS station are the SIAM station and National Stadium which connects you to various stops around Bangkok.

The hotel amenities certainly do not disappoint, very modern and clean. The staff is very helpful and very attentive to your needs. This is a none smoking hotel so please do keep that in mind. Although you can smoke outside of the hotel it is forbidden to smoke inside, you will be fined 2000 Baht if you smoke in your room or within the vicinity.

Although there are cheaper hotels around the area the hotel speaks for itself as it is one of a kind. Certainly a good value for your money with the service and location it offers.

The hotel offers nice selection of Cable channels and it also allows you to use their gym facilities. The pool is small but very nice as you can see in the pictures below. They also have a Spa that is very nice and uniquely found in the LIT.

The A/C tend to be warmer than expected, it takes a long time to cool but it will be enough after half an hour. The security of the hotel is very tight, you will need a room key card to access the elevators which is very nice.

The view is of the city, although it is kinda obstructed by the design of the facade of the building. It is within the city so not a lot of nice views but buildings old and new in the area.

The LIT hotel offers in room safes and is large enough for small laptops or iPads. They also offer a free tuk tuk service around the city center which allows you visit the areas such as the mall complex in the vicinity.

It is a very nice choice if you plan on doing some major shopping in Bangkok!

Room Tip: Check out their website to get the best deals, I got my room for half the price just by checking the...

Hotels in Siam are not plentiful and usually pretty expensive. The Lit is a fantastic option! It is right next to Discovery, across the road from MBK and a short walk from Paragon and Central World. The rooms are lovely and the service good. The breakfast isn't amazing but certainly absolutely acceptable. The air-conditioner in the room was a little noisy but not enough to worry us.

Room Tip: Ask about the air-conditioning noise

We selected the Lit for a 3 day stay on the basis of Tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. We received a lovely welcome, with a cold drink, a seat and a cool facecloth. There were two of us but the booking appeared to be for 3, so they upgraded us to a luxury triple room, which was enormous - 3 of everything except wardrobes of which there were 4. The rate included a good buffet breakfast and free in-room wi-fi throughout our stay. The room was spotless and housekeeping and service were excellent - all the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.

The hotel is near the MBK mall and the more upmarket Siam Paragon mall. The Skytrain is also nearby. We took a tuk-tuk to the Golden Palace for 150 Baht.

If we come back to Bangkok we would definitely stay here again.

Can't think of any negatives.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for three nights in the 'Full Spectrum Suite' on the fourth floor, in May 2012. The room was clean and comfortable, however consideration should be given to the seating arrangements in the lounge area as it was not possible for two people to be comfortable whilst watching T.V.
The gym is well equipped, with top rate equipment and very clean.
Overall a lovely hotel with exceptionally friendly helpful staff.

I checked in at this hotel after having had a terrible experience with another hotel that I had booked online. I was skeptical about it, but from the moment I arrived, it was first class all the way. Small details, like having a doorsman to handing out a wash towl at check-in, didn't become unoticed by me. The staff couldn't be nicer, professional or more helpful.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Everything was very high end, from the Kohler fixtures to the flat screens and the built-in speakers.

There was a good breakfast selection, a decent gym and a nice pool.

Room Tip: It's steps away from the National Stadium train stop.

The staffs are all very friendly and helpful... Design of the hotel is unique... location is not an issue as most taxi drivers know the way despite located along an alley... One main complain is that they can have much more varieties for breakfast as I was quite sick of the choice of food after 3 nights at the lit....

The friendly and helpful staff and edgy vibe to this hotel make is an appealling place to stay. Even the security guard outside snapped off a salute whenever I came and went. The pool is small and does not get much sun. I found the bathroom floor tile to be very slippery when wet. The rooms are compact but with good use of space. The map on their web site could use some upgrading and better instructions on how to get to the hotel from the airport line. In fact you have to change trains twice and end up lugging your luggage up and down a lot of steps. However that beats the traffic choked streets. Breakfast was good if a little limited. There was a problem with the safe in my room: I was concerned that my passport and money would be trapped in there but after some horsing around they got it working again. There are several malls within a short distance with restaurants and a wide range of shops. I loved the description in the mini bar menu of "Gentleman's Amenities" I leave that to your imagination. Overall a good value and interesting place to stay.
