“Immaculate, quiet layover boutique hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 January 2014

Having worked several days in Bangkok and spent a weekend in Hua Hin, I had an early morning flight out of BKK airport and given the terrible traffic in the city, knew I wanted a hotel close to the airport. Here are the details of my stay:
Location: early morning it took 10 minutes by free hotel shuttle to the airport; there is nothing to do around here so expect to eat in the hotel and just to use for a layover.
Building: very clean, modern
Staff: exceptionally friendly and attentive
Hotel Room: new, clean, modern, well decorated
Hotel Food: limited selection but decent, if a bit expensive
Value: decent. I thought the price was a bit high, but the hotel is brand new, so clean, and well decorated, that it's worth it.
Safety: as a single Western female, I felt very safe here.

Choosing a hotel in the vicinity of an international airport for an overnight layover is always a bit of a challenge. You don't want to splash out for a room that you will occupy for only 8 hours but nor do you want to run the risk that economy prices equal dismal accommodations. The Bussaba is an excellent option. Small, impeccably furnished in a clean and simple style, family-owned and operated. Airport pick-up and drop off are part of the room charge. The staff was personable, friendly and professional. Travel time to/from airport about 20 minutes.

The hotel was very nice, cozy, and comfortable with a good bed and plenty of pillows. We had some problems checking in because they staff when we arrived spoke very little English. We had a few questions but they couldn't answer them and we struggled to tell them when was good to have our pickup in the morning for the airport. However, they were very prompt with communications on the internet before hand when I asked for a transfer from the old airport, and that helped our day of travel go much smoother.

Bussaba, 1 night, 15th to 16th, for airport stop over. We booked this through Hotels.com with a free airport transfer, came out the arrivals gate at 17:45 to find a man with our name waiting on us, took us in a nice private jeep to the hotel with free chilled water en-route, arrived at hotel with staff waiting to take our cases, we were sat down with a cool face cloth and flower infused cold water while our cases were transferred to our room. Rooms are lovely all themed around a different Thai flower, extremely clean and modern as is the rest of the hotel, staff are extremely attentive and polite. We had a quick dinner in the hotel which was also nice and relatively cheap. It's only a small hotel maybe about 10rooms but we really enjoyed our short stay there and would defiantly go back.

If you after a lovely place to stay close to the airport, you must stay here. The space is beautiful and arty and everything that chain hotels are not. Staff is welcoming and food is great. We also liked the room that was furnished with elegance and style. Highly recommended.

Nice, relatively quiet and convenient hotel near the airport. Situated in a residential area, with no restaurants or other activity nearby. But the small menu at the hotel is adequate if you're just in for a overnight stay. We had the deluxe room, good size, with small balcony, unfortunately without chairs. The service was really nice, attentive and pleasant and the shuttle worked perfect, aprox 20-25 min. In morning traffic to airport. For Bangkok/Thai standards the beds was quite comfortable.

Room Tip: No need to spend extra on deluxe room if you're just in for a transit stay.

We enjoyed our very short stay at this hotel. Boyfriend and I arrived at 7PM and left at 2AM the next morning. We stayed here on the fact that we had an early flight out of Bangkok (BKK) and this hotel was close enough to the airport (15 mins drive no traffic) and there was free airport transfer.

The hotel itself is lovely and service was amazing. Upon arrival, the staff greeted us with a warm towel and a beverage (I think it was a tea or some sort of fruit drink). The staff then carried our bags to our room as we settled the bill.

We stayed in the building next to the reception office and it was on the third floor. I will say it was annoying to carry heavy bags down the stairs (no elevator in that building) and to carry it at 2AM wasn't any more fun. The room was nice and simple (see pics). Though the shower was small and the little drain could barely handle all the water so after our shower, there was water all over. The bed was comfy. There are slippers and a bathrobe in the closet. There's even a mini fridge.

The staff offered to cook us dinner from their limited menu. Very simple foods like fried rice, omelette, meat and veggies. There's also breakfast foods they can cook during those hours. I had the fried rice and boyfriend has the omelette. Both were tasty and I appreciated the portion as it wasn't too large. Prices were OK, not too expensive.

Now as mentioned, the hotel is not close to downtown and the surrounding area doesn't have too much other than a 7-11. There could be more around further away but it was dark when we arrived. It is also down the street from a main highway.

This is really a lovely hotel and it's not that expensive. but the location is out of the main areas. If you're looking for a transit hotel I would suggest this. I wouldn't stay here if you have sometime in Bangkok and wish to explore the city since it's far. But it really is a nice hotel and worth checking out for a quick, transit only stay in Bangkok.
