Hotel is linked on the third floor to the Surasak BTS train station which makes it very convenient to go to most places in Bangkok. Most journeys cost only 25 baht. It is also an 8 minute walk to my favorite massage place in Bangkok - HealthLand. The superior twin rooms are huge and come with two nice lounge chairs. Breakfast selection and quality is comparable to a five star hotel. The bars on the ground floor and 14th floor pool area are both attractive, but close a bit early at midnight. Beds are firm and great for a good night's sleep. In room dining was reasonable price and my Thai noodles were delicious. Check-in was too slow though, but front desk was helpful. The shower isn't strong enough for me, but I can live with it. Will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Bangkok. The hotel is only 7 months old.

Stayed here for three nights (3 night + skytrain ticket package). Very nice hotel with attentive helpful staff. The infinity pool overlooking Bangkok is worth a visit and the price of a cocktail. Breakfast is vast- people filling up for the day ahead. Location is very good, with an access directly to Skytrain. Two stops to Siam Discovery centre and one stop to Taksim bridge.
Have already booked another three days at the end of our trip before flying home.

Room Tip: The Superior sky rooms are a bit higher up and give great views over the city.

Bangkok has many excellent hotels and although the Eastin Sathorn is good, it is not excellent. Check in was slow - it took 20 minutes to find a vacant room despite my booking 6 weeks before. Waited another 20 minutes in room for bags to arrive - did not, so we wandered about the hotel, and it took another hour and phone call before the bags arrived. There was a similar delay (30 mins +0 at check out, so allow plenty of time if you are travelling to the airport.

There are not enough lifts for the number and guests and you can wait some time for a lift, which often were full anyway, or had a bellhop with a rack of bags. The pool looks beautiful, but the water was green and cloudy for the 4 days we stayed here. You have to walk past smokers to the pool and you can smell their smoke as you swim. There is only a limited number of sunbeds, disappointing for a hotel which promotes itself as 5 star.

Breakfast buffet was very Western with some Chinese and Japanese dishes, but very little Thai food, again disappointing. Food quality was good but it was very busy, so no individual order egg station. Coffee was decent and you can ask for a carafe. As it was so busy many guests had to wait for a table. The restaurant staff were excellent considering how busy they were.

Room was beautiful with lovely outlook. Bed was large and comfortable, a lovely but huge chair and a standard lamp made space on the window side of the bed tight. TV reception was clear with good selection and many English language stations. Bathroom was large but the lighting too dark. Often the room was not serviced until late afternoon and the single housekeeper - not a sufficient number of workers for the number of rooms.

What was excellent was the connection to Surasuk BTS station. Makes access to Bangkok so much easier.

Many reviewers have loved this hotel. It is brand new, looks beautiful and has nice rooms, but overall it did not offer what other the facilities of many of Bangkok's 4 star hotels and we will not return in a hurry.

Room Tip: The higher the room the better the view, so ask for a high room.

Dear Morpet,

Greetings from Eastin Grand Sathorn Bangkok.

May I begin by thanking you for taking the time to write a review of our hotel on Trip Advisor. This feedback is invaluable as it not only allows us to see where we are meeting or exceeding the needs of our guests but also where we have to pay attention in other areas.

I was delighted to read that you enjoyed your room and outlook as I feel we offer some of the most comfortable accommodation and impressive views available in our sector of the market and the generous comments we receive seem to support this. Additionally I am glad that you considered our direct access to the BTS station to be excellent and hope that you managed to enjoy Bangkok to the fullest. I will be passing on your praise to my restaurant staff for a job well done and thank you for mentioning their dedicated and professional service.

I would like to sincerely apologize for the aspects of your stay you mentioned that did not live up to your expectations. Your experience with the luggage delivery and cleaning of your room are simply inexcusable and I have spoken to both my Front Office and Housekeeping Managers to fully investigate and improve upon these situations.

Unfortunately we suffered a freak rainstorm which tainted the water in the swimming pool. The water was tested by my Engineering Team and found to be completely safe but naturally we have now drained, thoroughly cleaned and re-filled the pool.

I would like to inform you that there is an egg station for preparing eggs to your liking for which I am sorry if you were unaware of its presence and due to popular demand will be introducing more Thai dishes on the buffet line.

May I end by saying that we were delighted to serve you as our honored guest and hope that upon your return to Bangkok visit us again to see your comments put into action.

Yours sincerely,

John Westoby
General Manager

We recently stayed at this new hotel and were very pleasantly surprised. The entrance is right off the bts sky train station and couldn't be more convenient. Our room was a generous size, clean and well appointed although there was no bath. The pool and gymnasium were fabulous with breathtaking views. The greatest highlight was the breakfast- it was sumptuous including bacon like Europeans are used to - unlike other places in Asia where the bacon is usually cremated. One small down side - I guess in order to save room there are not enough elevators so much time is spent waiting. I was on holidays so it didn't worry me.

Room Tip: We took the option of booking a higher room which was a bit more but worth it.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for four nights and enjoyed every moment of it. The rooms are nicely designed, very clean and offer great views over Bangkok and the nearby river. All the staff are very friendly, helpful, attentive and accommodated all of our requests promptly. The breakfast buffet is really nice offering a vast variety of international and Asian dishes. One of the highlights of this hotel is the infinity pool on the 14th floor - definitely worth having a swim in there and enjoying the great views! The direct access to the BTS station is very convenient considering the busy traffic in Bangkok. Overall this is a fantastic new hotel with great value for money. We will definitely stay here again during our next trip to Bangkok.

As usual location first was the reason to choose the hotel; however we were satisfied with our decision; from the room to the service and the location everything has been as expected and the dinner in the Chinese restaurant was outstanding. Will I come back? Definitely!

Room Tip: Rooms on high floors for the view of the city!

I stayed here 2 nights after spending 9 nights in Phuket.

The skywalk connecting the hotel to Surasak BTS station was a big plus on arrival.

The room on the 27th floor was luxurious & had great views to the Chao Praya River, free wi-fi and a laptop safe, a first anywhere.

The infinity pool on the 14th floor is not to be missed - great place & nice views. Probably best of all was the breakfast, with a very wide choice, extremely tasty and open till 11 a.m.!

Hotel may consider having True Sports channels given it is in a fairly quite area but all-in-all, a great hotel. Would recommend it any time
