“Great views, amazing bathroom n handy connectivity!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 February 2013 via mobile

My wife n i stayed in this hotel fer one nightaswe had a tight schedule! The most convenient thing is its connected to the brt (metro) frm da 3rd floor! Bkk traffic is congested n diz is da best way to travel! The lobby is nicely decorated. We were given a clean spacious room on da 19th floor with a beautiful view of the city! The bathroom was huge n had glass windows to enjoy da view while soaping up in da bathtub or da shower! Yes there are blinds to prevent others frm enjoying a good view of u! Clicked some amazing pix! The breakfast spread next day was lavish and everything we had was delicious! The hotel is very near to da river from where you can catch a ferry n do sightseeing! Would definitely stay here for longer next time n recommend it!

Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn is an excellent hotel in all respects. Great location (link to the BTS, close to the ferry, ...). All rooms comfortably furnished and clean. Breakfast is excellent, with a large selection of dishes. Staff very friendly and always willing to help.
In short, "I'll be back!"

This hotel is fairly priced, with nice rooms and a good breakfast. Very convenient to the Surasak station of the skytrain. It's not quite 5 stars (like the Lebua or Oriental), but a solid 4-plus stars.

Room Tip: The twin rooms are larger than the double rooms and are the same price. They also face the river.

Been to BKK many times so I do have a basic expectation of what I should be getting for the money I was paying. Booked this hotel when it's on a promotion and was hoping to treat my family to a 5 stars hotel but was utterly disappointed.

There's no bathtub for a start and that's quite a shock as the money I've paid for any hotels near shopping area comes with one!

Although its link to BTS it wasn't as convenient as it seems, train is crowded during peak which makes it pretty hardwork when you have loads of shopping. There's nothing much around so you can't really do much around the hotel.

And the breakfast... Comparing it to Other 4 stars and above hotels in BKK the variety is pathetic. The quality of the food is not there as well.

I've given 3 stars only because of the cleanliness of the rooms, I've requested for a baby cot and received a complimentary basket of baby shower gel, powder, shampoo, rubber duck which my baby loves and refuse to let go. Thais are friendly so I have no complains of the customer service I was getting.

For those who have travelled many times to BKK and wants to do shopping, this will not be a good choice for you.

Dear Sugarbbuummpp,

Greetings from Eastin Grand Sathorn Bangkok.

May I start by thanking you for your posting a review on Trip Advisor regarding your recent stay with us. Your comments are invaluable in ensuring that we take the necessary steps to rectify any problems encountered by our guests to make their stay a pleasant one.

It was a pleasure to read your praise for the cleanliness of our rooms and the service offered by our staff as these are both aspects of our hotel of which we are particularly proud. I am very pleased that our complimentary bathroom amenities for your child were of such use.

I do regret though that there were areas of your stay that caused you some disappointment.
Our standard rooms do not contain a bathtub although our large separate shower stall in these rooms comes in for a lot of praise from people wishing to refresh themselves after a busy day shopping or sightseeing. I would like to point out that all our other room categories do contain a bathtub.

I also regret that you found the BTS Sky Train to not be as convenient as you’d considered.

With Bangkok being one of the largest metropolitan areas in the region it will be naturally be busy at peak times as will any big city’s public transportation system although I am rather disappointed that for some reason you included this as a “negative” of the hotel. For our guests who use the Sky Train it appears to be a great benefit of their stay rather than an inconvenience.

I would though like to comment on the use of the word “pathetic” to describe our buffet breakfast selection. With all due respect we consider this feedback to be completely unjustifiable as we offer a very wide selection of Western dishes including eggs cooked any style a la minute, English sausages, Canadian bacon, hash browns and baked beans plus a large choice of cold cuts, salad, breads, pastries, fruits and yoghurts as well as local and other Asian favourites to cater for all tastes. We certainly do not receive any seriously adverse comments regarding the variety available and we certainly offer a breakfast buffet comparable to our immediate competitors. Without further detailed information I am afraid that I am at a loss to respond to your opinion that the quality was low as on the contrary it is many guests opinion that what we prepare is more than acceptable.

I am sorry that you chose to rate our hotel as such mostly due to the lack of a bathtub, a busy Sky Train and breakfast selection which usually receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from our guests but I hope that on your next trip to Bangkok you will give us another chance to prove why the hotel is currently ranked as we are.

Yours sincerely,

John Westoby

Superb hotel, I really can’t speak highly enough of this place. The sky train link made travelling around the city really easy and hassle free, the outdoor infinity pool was a great place to relax after sightseeing in the city, the rooms were smart and spacious and the breakfast included had a great selection and was faultless. If travelling here again I wouldn’t consider anywhere else.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Rooms are spacious, very good bed. Breakfast is great; much variety in Western and Asian food.
On 3rd. floor there's a connection with the sky-train station. The Italian restaurant is good, make reservation if you like to sit outside. Chinese restaurant is crowded and noisy as well is the Glass House for dinner.
There are 4 elevators and in my opinion this is too less for so much rooms. It took quite some time more than once before one stopped.

This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. My family and i are currently here and i love it so much i had to write a review. First of all its brand new. As you walk in you're greeted by sweet and lovely staff. The hotel is very prestigious for its class. The pool is amazing, overlooking the city. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with expansive city views and finally the breakfast buffet is delicious with a wide variety of eastern and western dishes.

Tip: use the BTS that is part of the hotel (they should give you day passes for a 3 nights or more stay) and go to Siam square ane check out Centre World mall. Out of this world.

Enjoy your trip to BKK. It's a magnetic experience to say the least.
