one of the few hotels, if not the only one, which is directly connected with the BTS station. Very nice breakfast with lot of variety and comfortable modern looking rooms. The hotel is still new so everything is in an excellent condition. Service was very good.

This was our first time in Bangkok, so we had no idea what was in store for us, hotel-wise, but the East in Grand surpassed all of our expectations.

Our room was on the 31st floor, with views out over the city towards the Chao Phraya river; the decor was luxurious; the staff were fantastic - able and eager to help with any issues we had; and my wife fell in love with the breakfast buffet.

The pool looked great, but unfortunately we were too busy to try it. The views from poolside were fantastic, though.

The only downside is that it's a little remote for alternative restaurants for evening dining. Location-wise for attractions though, it's actually very good, because there is a direct link from the 3rd floor to the BTS station.

Great hotel, and heartily recommended.

we stayed 2nights at eastin grand hotel sathorn during the anti-goverment protests in bangkok. the staff was really friendly and helpful even concerning informations where to go and what is safe or what colour not to wear :-) rooms spacious, with nice views over the city and with everything you need and really comfortable beds. pool area at 14th floor was also very nice with great beds and seating area. restaurants are not cheap for what are you used to in the city, but is normal in a 5* hotel. breakfast was also good with a lot to choose from, but they should provide some more western food(there was no cheese).
overall great experience for good price(170eur/2pers/2nights). recommended.

It was so convenient to take Skyline from the airport to this hotel. We had good options for a big breakfast every day. The front dest crew were very polite and professional. Upon check in, the front dest found a possible booking mistake and their manager immediately approached us not only for better clarification but also for our finicial benefits. The problem was immediately solved.

The room was absolutely clean and comfortable. The bad was perfect and I could sit on the couch as long as possible before I had to go to bed. The restroom was so big and bright.(Though I did wish they also have a cleaning hydrant for girls hygiene, which is commenly found in Thailand. ) Before we took off for our midnight plant, we still enjoyed the stunning infinite pool, the food and drink, watching the sunset and the busy traffic on the ground. Though we should have booked some more days with the Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn, this hotel absolutely made it a perfect ending of our vacation.

Room Tip: We had a corner room on the 18th floor.

This hotel was a great value for money and a nice little sanctuary from the bustle of Sathorn...took us ages to get here from the airport as the approach to the sathorn road was very very slow due to some dodgy traffic lights (we waited like 20 minutes at one of them for the light to turn green).
Other than that, everything was perfect.

Our room was on the 39th floor with a great view over the city. The best thing about the hotel was the infinity pool area which has plenty of great seating and attentive service. Come early if you want to grab the poolside loungers though.

Also, the breakfast buffet was very generous and offered plenty of both local and international cooked foods, every day with some alteration.

Highly recommended!

Classic Thai modern décor and smooth service upon arrival to the Eastin Grand Hotel centrally located in the Sathorn business district did not disappoint. My husband and I arrived with our two boys in tow from Phuket, both under the age of twelve, and were greeted like royalty.

We had booked the hotel online and paid extra for the Executive Level Lounge Access (ELLA), simply divine. In addition, the Access provided complimentary breakfast, complimentary coffee, tea, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks throughout the day, an open bar cocktail reception including complimentary wine, beer, spirits, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres served from 5:30-7:30 p.m. every day, free wireless and access to several computer stations with wired high speed Internet as well as a full staff of concierge professionals to assist us at a moment’s notice. The additional cost was minuscule when compared to the daily rate of other hotels within the area.

Need to reserve a restaurant or locate the best shop for antiques? Need to hire a motorbike or tuk tuk to take you to a nearby pharmacy or market? Where to go for a cheap but clean foot massage? Want to know who serves Shabu Shabu near the hotel?

No problem.

The ELLA gave us an opportunity to relax in luxury overlooking the beautiful skyline from the 32nd Floor of the hotel, so great that often after a long day of sight-seeing, we simply dined off the enormous spread of delicious gourmet food in lieu of sitting in traffic to venture off to a restaurant for a late dinner. (The Access also provides a number of other freebies but they are too long to list. Please see visit www.eastinggrandsathorn.com.) In addition, the two rooms (next door to one another) we occupied (there are no adjoining rooms for families), were spacious, and relaxing. Linens and beds were divine. The load of gratis bottled water supplied each day made sure we maintained hydrated on several days of extreme shopping!

Toiletries and towels were in abundance. I also treasured the environmental policy of ‘hanging towels’ in order to conserve water if you wanted to go that route and save the hotel from replenishing your towels after one simple use.

One evening we dined at the Italian Restaurant, LUCE, and received a 15% discount because we were hotel guests. (First-rate service. Opportunity to sit poolside and enjoy the view from the 14th Floor.) On another night, we ordered room service... 20 minutes later... prompt service and hot, fresh yummy food!

Perhaps one of THE best perks… Free Skytrain Passes for our entire stay! Initially, I booked this particular venue because it is the ONLY hotel in Bangkok with its own direct access to the BTS Skytrain Station and with small children, I did not want to deal with Bangkok traffic and taxis to see city sights. On the hotel third floor, there is a security-guarded entrance/exit thus allowing you access to the Surasak Station through a spacious, open-aired tunnel. We were able to redeem our BTS passes and board the train without any delays during both low and peak travel hours. The proximity to areas such as Siam Paragon, MBK Center, The National Stadium, Chatuckak Weekend Market, and Patpong Night Market allowed us many options in terms of planning things to see and do with relative ease.

Lastly, the negative-edge pool offers a comfortable spot to cool off with light snacks, drinks and relaxation during sunny days or sleepy afternoon snaps on cloudy days. There are several funky “bungalow” loungers for 2-4 people but it’s offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who miss out on grabbing a cush seat can simply crash on many of the sectionals surrounding the pool with plush pillows. Lounge lizards, no worries, there are of plenty of spaces to be found. Barflies can sit on the contemporary stools and practice Thai with the bartender or friendly female wait staff. A patron highlight… stunning views of Bangkok’s imposing skyline and the famous Chao Phraya River while watching the sun set and sipping on freshly mixed cocktails. Our boys enjoyed mocktails one late afternoon and cheese pizza while we raised our glasses and said a ‘toast’ to one of the best cities in the world. The bar drinks and food were plentiful and the service was impeccable.

As always, holidays end too early. Our flight back to Texas was at the crack of dawn but the staff at 5 a.m. in the morning greeted us with the same royal treatment we received upon our arrival earlier in the week. While there was absolutely NO traffic on the roads… it still took us 45 minutes to jet to the Suvarnabhumi International Airport via private transportation.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Life is a journey, not a destination.” I beg to differ in this case because it is ALL about the destination particularly when you travel in Asia with small children.

East Grand Hotel Sathorn offered an astonishing location, brilliant amenities, excellent food and flawless service but most of all staff… who excelled in customer service and truly made this gem stand out in a sea of five star hotels.

(Kudos to Aek, Beer, and particularly Lak… as well as the entire staff who worked during our November 22-28 vacation. Side note… this hotel is located next door to the Blue Elephant Cooking School & Restaurant. There is also a small convenient shop next door to the cooking school where you walk a block to purchase soft drinks, wine and snacks among other items for your room refrigerator. The hotel does not host a spa or salon but they do offer a Kid’s Club geared toward young children, VIP airport tranportation and a wonderful workout and fitness facility. I did not rate the "spa" poor on this review because we didn't care whether the hotel had a spa or not. Bangkok is full of fantastic spas offering a variety of services and we were happy to treat ourselves to daily massages elsewhere.)

Room Tip: We had rooms 1820 and 1821 with stunning views of the city. We got to see the sun rise each morning...
