1) when we check-in, the hotel staffs were ready to welcome us...it's a something we never expect

2) I like the design of the lobby and the magic welcome drink...such a good idea...

3) I like the design of the rooms..fulfilling the WOOD theme...and the APPLE TV provides the different experience as the guests can make the booking through the wireless keyboard

4) the swimming pool..water so cool..nice view......WOW!!

5) the roof top bar..not doubt that it 's one of the best in bangkok...and the price of the drinks are quite reasonable

6) the SPA... after I tried, I understand why it is an award-winning SPA.. kop khun kap, therapist SO APPLE

7) the hotel staff are always friendly and attentive...

8) Overall, I felt so relax in this hotel

THINGS can improve

1) if the bed can be softer abit, then will be great

2) breakfast at red oven ...it's can be better if the staff can make sure the food is hot...

Thank you for your comments about Sofitel So Bangkok. We are delighted to know that you enjoyed our hotel design and concept, infinity pool, So SPA, and rooftop bar!
However, I am very sorry about your breakfast in Red Oven. Please be ensured that I will inform this to the food & beverage manager, Ms. Chidchanok, so that we can prevent this incident from occurring again and ensure that food is heated appropriately.
As for the comfort of the bed, I am sorry that it was below your expectations. For your visit, we can offer you our MyBed pillow menu, to hopefully increase your comfort and guest room experience!

We loved the design of this modern urban hotel. We had a wood themed room overlooking Lumpini Park which was nice to break up the concrete jungle of Bangkok.
Room was great, breakfast was extensive but a lot of the hot food was cold on consumption. The gym had a spectacular outlook, although the pool doesn't get any sun which makes a swim less enticing. Make sure you have a cocktail at sunset at the rooftop bar. The only major problem we encountered was that none of the taxi drivers were able to find this hotel on our return home which made it tough given the language barrier! So make sure you have a map or get the hotel to write out the address for you because even though they have details on the back of the room key several drivers still couldn't find it and took us to the old Sofitel which is now a Pullman hotel!! Tip: there's a little restaurant about 200 metres down the rd called North East which has the best Thai food and cheap.

Dear GPBug ,

We are grateful for the comment you submitted about the hotel and design, is truly a unique experience in bangkok and the views are so relaxing.

Bangkok being so big and over 700 hotels, sometimes is confusing for taxi driver to know each address, so we are working on being more known and making sure we are easily identified.
Thats why we have the full address of thr hotel on each room keycard, and every time a guest takes a taxi from the hotel we provide clear instructions written for the driver in Thai language, same card has the address of the hotel to be used on the return.
We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced while here and hope most drivers know us by the time of your return.

Thank you so much for staying with us, and looking forward to welcoming you back in Bangkok very soon.

With so courtesy,

I stayed 6 nights in an Executive Floor in Earth element in this new hotel (it opened 1 year ago or so, I was told).
The hotel responded very fast to my previous emails before checking in and I was very well received with the traditional Thai greeting. I was fond of the welcome complimentary drink (although it was later wrongly billed). The room I was assigned for being Silver member was fabulous with a front view to the Lumpini Park and the second window with a magnificent view of the surrounding area.

The concept of the Five Elements sounded original to me and perhaps should be deepened for the first-time guests as we are surprised when I hear about them for the first time.

The breakfast in the Executive Lounge is extraordinary! Not only it is buffet breakfast but there is a la carte option of 2 typical Asian dishes such as congee or kimono, and of course Thai breakfast.

This hotel is the typical Asian 5 star hotel and the Lobby and Front Desk are located in the 9th floor, which is not common but adds originality to this property.

One thing to be improved is the taxi service from the hotel, as when taking taxis in Bangkok it is easy to be ripped off the first times. It should be posible to bill the taxi to the room bill, as many hotels do it.

Unfortunately, I am still fighting to have the LE CLUB ACCOR (formerly ACLUB) points credited, as of today no points is showing into my account.... and I have not yet received a response to my second and third message claiming for at least some points...

Room Tip: So good hotel in front of the Lumpini Park and so in need of a couple of improvements

Dear tinchotraveller,

This is a new trendy hotel in Bangkok. It has 4 different elements for the room type which are Earth, Water, Wood and Metal so check them out if you fancy staying here. It has a lovely pool area and Spa with fitness centre and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Their breakfast was excellent with a good choice for all nationalities and very efficiently run. The location is a little out of the centre but a short walk away you can find the underground station to other areas or connect to the skytrain to cover most of Bangkok.

It seems a meeting point for French people! Lobby looks nice and the welcome drink was delicious. We arrived at 3.30 p.m and we decided to get one of the earth room. We entered the room and it smelled totally!
Than they told us that the rooms in that floor were just renovated 2 weeks ago. We went back to the lobby and we had to wait for another 1 hour and if ally we got in the very average room at 5.50 p.m. Won't come back to the so so Hotel!

Dear Gerd55,

Thank you very much for choosing us during your stay in Bangkok!

We would like to deeply apologize for the perception you have about the hotel, we strive every day to deliver perfect service and sorroundings to our guests, thats why all rooms are constantly being improved to look and feel great.

Regarding the delay to get your room on arrival, we do have 4 different room themes and according to the guest's liking we can select the special one each guest prefers, in your case for 'Earth' element, there was not one ready upon your request and had to wait for the room to be prepared.
We recommend to book directly with the hotel, or contact the hotel directly prior to arrival in order to secure the special element chosen ahead of the check-in.
We also do not like to wait, so we are very sorry for the situation you experienced.

We do believe we can deliver a much better impression of Sofitel So, therefore we would like to get in contact with you to help arrange a future trip to Bangkok.

Thank you very much,
With so courtesy,
