“Great place”

This hotel is cheap and right off the BTS station which is so convenient to get anywhere in BKK! The staff is very nice, friendly, and lovely! The rooms are clean, and there is a lounge room with tea, coffee, and water. My friends and I enjoyed this hotel that we rebooked it for the next week. The only con is… there is no elevator so cross your fingers to get a room on the lower levels. Definitely recommend this place, it's not a 5 star hotel but it is good for it's value.

We had three nights here and stayed four people in a family room.

The room was actually quite large, with a sink and a kettle so you can make a cup of coffee or tea. The bathroom is also ok. Not flashy - but with hot water. It is the most important to us.

The Mix hotel is located right next to Phra Khanong station (skytrain), which is very convenient when you want to explore the city.

The breakfast is definitely not a showpiece - we ate instead at one of the small restaurents, located down the street.

Room Tip: Rooms located away from the street and the skytrain is preferable.

We stayed one night when our bookings at the Jasmine Hotel next door were wrongly made and we had to leave early as Jasmine were full. We had room 402 which is at the front and was very noisy from traffic ,better to ask for a rear room. TV did not work properly. Wifi was patchy and no lift so we ( 56 years old and 67 years old ) had to carry our suitcases up stairs , there was no male to help ,the owner was a lady who did not carry and the British owner just sat and worked on his computer. Breakfast is poor, toast, jam and coffee. Room was clean but not that well furnished We paid Baht 1200- and there are better options around .

Room Tip: Chose rear rooms if you want a good sleep ,front rooms very noisy

My sister stayed in this hotel and we visited her there. There were a few discrepancies with what was advertised. Main problem was that I had to carry a heavy suitcase up six floors as there is no lift. The decor is very dated and the room was over priced for was offered. Safety deposit box did not work, there was only one spoon and no china even though advertised as self catering. TV only had travel channel and no English news. Woman at front desk however, was very nice although she insisted on taking my passport and not returning it until I left.

As I am writing this review, I am looking at the photo above that is supposed to represent The Mix Bangkok. This isn't even close to what we experienced. We are a family of 5, and we had just spent 10 days in China, and we were just starting our Thailand adventure. The hotel is easy to find from the directions, and it is literally located right off the train station stop. That was very convenient, and before I get too negative, I want to mention that there is a great coffee shop right outside of the Mix. Anyway, upon arrival, we were led to a sleeping dorm on the main floor. It consisted of 5 beds that looked like a hostel. The linens were clean, but the room was not. The floor was dirty, paint was peeling in the corners of the room, and there was nothing quaint about this place. The bathroom topped it. The shower and the toilet were in one room - fine - but the drain was on the opposite corner of the shower. So all of the water drained throughout the entire bathroom, and if you dropped anything, it would get soaked. The bathroom wasn't clean either. The TV didn't work, but they did work very hard to fix it once they noticed we were not happy. We also walked up the stairs, and it appears that the rooms upstairs are much nicer - maybe even like the photo. But the "suite" as they called it was a dump. And they advertised laundry services there - well, you can send your laundry out. We did that, and it was very reasonable. As for breakfast, eat at the coffee shop. We had white toast and jelly. In 25 days, it was the worst place we stayed. Don't stay in the "suite" for sure!

We stayed at The Mix for a couple of nights, just around Songkran 2013. The place was ok. Probably it's best feature is that it's just on the exit of one of the BTS stations (Phra Khanong) which makes it excellent to move around the huge and chaotic city without having to take a taxi. Still, it took us about 30 minutes of BTS and 30 minutes of boat to get to the main attactions (Grand Palace, Kao San Road, etc).
The hotel has no stairs, so having to go up to the 6th floor with our suitcases was no easy task. The rooms are well arranged, with air conditioner but with hardly any view. Breakfast is pathetic, just a slice of bread, nothing to put on, and a glass of water. Don't count on it for a full day out visiting Bangkok.
A good place to be if you're on a tight budget and have no problem leaving the hotel early in the morning and coming back late at night, since you won't be going back along the day to drop or pick up anything.
If you're in Bangkok for just a couple of days, you'd better pay a few more bucks and stay around Kao San.

Decent hotel on the SkyTrain's Sukhumvit line. The room was of a decent size and the staff were helpful. The complimentary breakfast was quite poor - self-service, no butter for the toast for the whole stay, instant coffee, and no kettle one morning. Overall, I'd say it was fine if you want to stay at that end of town. In hindsight, I would have preferred to stay closer to the river and spent a little less time on the train.
