Skyy Hotel
Ranked #712 of 885 Hotels in Bangkok

First and foremost, the most important reason which led me to choose this hotel was because it is situated pretty near from the Phloen Chit BTS station. From the hotel to the train station, it takes about 5 minutes walk. By taking the sky train, you can gain direct access to many famous shopping malls and also the Chatuchak market so it was very convenient for me.

The hotel does not have a direct entrance or lobby. You practically have to enter a parking space, get into the lift and head to 2nd floor which is the lobby. Don't worry though, the bellboy is very polite and helpful with your luggages.

Our family got room 302 and 307, and so far we are very please with it. To enter room levels, guests would need to swipe their room cards in the lift before they can press the button to their room. I like this security feature. The hotel also provides a good wifi service, they will give you username and password together with your room card.

There are two 7-11's and a family Mart located along the road outside the hotel. If you are tired of walking, there are many taxi's parked alongside of the road too. Very convenient indeed!

My "Limo" pickup from the airport was fine, driver waiting at the appropriate Gate and ready for me. I had paid for a return as with the "political protests" going on in Bangkok streets wanted to make sure I had a ride organized. My return journey, although clear and straight to the airport was in a 6/8 seater van...not very clean and certainly not the limo I had expected. No follow up from the hotel to makes sure the return limo was ordered!
A friend had recommended the hotel because of the proximity to the Bumrungard Hospital where i have my yearly check up. Very "iffy" area around the hotel and next time will not stay here. There are too many choices in Bangkok and all within 10 minute walk of the a SKY TRAIN or the hospital. My first room faced the express way where I could hear the traffic ( I had requested a quiet room ) so this did not work for me at all.... 2nd room was quieter but incredibly noisy aircon and none too clean. Hallway was very dark as overhead lights were broken. TV went on and off and the internet was erratic. Shower was basic at best. Breakfast was OK... coffee undrinkable. Sorry I can find nothing redeeming about this place except of its proximity to the hospital.

Great hotel, very clean, nice rooms. Food are ok and a bit pricey. Breakfast buffet is simple, but the food served are tasteful

the view towards the front of hotel is not everyone's taste, but is shows the authentic Bangkok life

will stay here again if i have to visit Bumrungrad again

Although from the outside, the hotel doesn't stand out much, the rooms look very new and have all the amenities that you could expect. We were upgraded to a better room during check in but even then the room size is nothing huge. Around 25-27 meters but what we really appreciated was the features.

We took two rooms next to each other and they both came with nice balconies. Some really nice touches were the room safes which had a built in power socket to charge your laptop and also the console beside the headboard which was jam packed with buttons to control every single light in the room, set an alarm and other things I didn't check out. Additionally, the built in hdmi input there meant you could plug your laptop or camera and check out the images on the 40 inch flat screen. Very nice indeed!

Breakfast was strictly standard stuff, don't expect any huge spread but did the job nicely and as this is catered to a hospital crowd, it is to be expected. There is an ATM, a money exchange, massage parlour and hair salon all downstairs so that is very convenient. Plus Soi 1 has around three 7-11s so the location is extremely convenient. Best part of course is that Bumrungrad is literally a minute away. I cannot stress this advantage enough for hospital goers. It really makes a HUGE difference.

Overall we would go there again and in fact have already booked the rooms for my parents checkup this week.

Room Tip: Choose rooms with balconies.

Excellent location if you have business at Bumrungrad Hospital. We actually stayed at Sky Residence which is located behind the Hotel. Wonderful rooms, very spacious and clean. Highly recommend for a long stay. There is a 7-11 on the ground floor and many restaurants in the area. Several banks and many shops also at this location. A short 10 minute walk to the nearest sky train terminal.

I stayed there because of its proximity to Bumrungrad Hospital where I have my annual check-up but it is well located in Bangkok downtown with easy access to BTR, food and shopping. The rooms are well-appointed, bright, the staff courteous and breakfast is fine. There are less expensive hotels around, but there are also more pricey offerings like the Best Western next door. All in all, good value for money given the location.

Room Tip: Don't be fooled by the rather dreary lane (Soi 1) in front of the hotel. It is abuzz with cafes...

The staff is friendly although very few have a good grasp of English, but they try to please which is worth a lot. The hotel is steps away from the main hospital complex for medical tourism and also quite close to the skytrain, the only way to get around Bangkok which gives gridlock new meaning. The restaurant food is good and the prices fair.
