Now, here's a hotel I would never have found if my Thai friend didn't know the manager there. It's a relatively new outfit, about 6 months old, and it shows. The rooms are not the most spacious but they are very well designed and the furnishing is in tip top condition. They have a pretty wide flat screen TV and an empty mini fridge. For those who know Bangkok, this can prove very useful. Why pay for mini-bar drinks when you can buy your own at a fraction of the cost at one of the many 7-elevens around. Bangkok Venice gets that. The hotel location is pretty good too. It is in the Pratunam district at the junction of Chidlom Road and Petchaburi Road. That's a 10-minute walk from Chidlom BTS station and a 10-minute walk to Pratunam market. Those familiar with Bangkok will know that the area is great for shopping since they have a wholesale market and one of the most popular IT malls in Bangkok, Pantip. The most popular and upmarket shopping centres in Bangkok are not too far either. Central World is only a 20-minute walk away. I must also add that the street food around the hotel is amazing. Just down the road is a famous chicken rice stall which is always crowded after hours when the clubs close. A 7-eleven is only a few minutes walk away. The hotel sits on Sansab canal and the ferry stop is right next to it. This means that you can travel by ferry rather than constantly taking taxis, tuktuks or walking. I paid about US$40 per night for a room. For the convenience, the quality of the room and the great service, I think it's a steal. Last thing though...you can't smoke in the hotel.
