“Bank of Thailand Museum-Nov 2013”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 November 2013

If you are interested in money then this is a good museum to visit. It shows the evolution of money in Thailand. It has examples of foreign money that were used for a time in Thailand. I was surprised at the extent of foreign influence in currency in Thailand. It has a giant stone coin from Yap Island.

“Dress decent and bring photoID”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2013

Very entertaining museum on the origin of Thai money. Much more interesting then you would expect. Free entrance, but no shoes, no shorts and no nakes shoulders allowed, so dress decent.

We liked it for the afternoon. It's not a one not to miss, in our opinion, but very good if you have some time to kill!

“Beautiful old building ... bring photo ID with you”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2012

You need photo ID (or a copy of it) to get into the museum, which they keep as security (presumably because of the security risk with all that money).

This is an excellent museum - very informative and it also explains some of the country's history in relation to money (eg, the depression). Its well worth a wander for an hour or two, particularly because it's in such a beautiful old building on landscaped lawns next to the river.

It's like two museums in one - architecture and history.

Entry is free.
