The staff there are super helpful, especially the owner. I loved the vibe of the hostel, makes it very easy to meet other people. The location is right next to Phaya Thai bts station, but in a very local community that is quiet and has lots of yummy street food. Would definitely recommend this place.

Siam Journey is definitely an ideal place for unconventional travelers who want to explore authentic Asia with new homestay experience and animated local atmosphere.

Located in the very center of the city, where you can reach all most every tourist attractions (include the airport) by BTS, Siam Journey is also a unique place where you can meet other travelers and local people.

I have stayed there for three nights. It was my third trip to Thailand. Although I already known the city well, the friendly staff provided me with tons of fresh ideas to know more about local life. I really enjoyed my stay at Siam Journey and I am sure next time, I will still choose this cozy little place!

The Siam Journey Guest House is a very cozy, small Hostel and a veeery familiar atmosphere.
I couldn't get rid of the feeling that it's more like a homestay, turned into a hostel - which is a positive thing in this case ;)

Nathan (probably the owner? I didn't get around to ask him) is one of the nicest guys we have met on our Asia-Trip and he will definitely help you with almost all your needs, his english is perfect (a lot better than mine/ours) and the way he takes care of the Guest House and his part-time-residents is just ... "sweet"; sorry, I can not think of another adjective to describe it :).

Anyway, the beds are good (reading lights and power outlets, yeah!), the rooms are okay and the atmosphere is awesome - oh, and Siam Journey is one of the cheapest Hostels in Bangkok!

How more people have not reviewed this place I do not know...

A great place to stay, such a gret vibe from the minute that you walk in. A great mix of people and Nathan (the manager) makes you feel instantly at home.

Most nights optional events go on, pool parties, drinks, movies, shows, food... There's always an option.

Great location too, 5 mins walk to the BTS to travel the try of Bangkok, whilst being situated in a lovely neighbourhood and often being offered glasses of whiskey etc as you pass by the locals..!

The pictures do not do this place justice - I wish I had some to add as it is much nicer than it looks on here.

I wouldn't hesitate staying here again it recommending to my closest friends.

This small guest house is in a nice little neighborhood in Bangkok. There is a LOT of great street food near the guest house as well as a BTS station. Geng and Nathan will bend over backwards to help you out - they even let me borrow their guidebook for Myanmar for my trip there! I met so many lovely people here- because you're not on Koh San Road you're staying with other people who deliberately aren't staying there either- it makes for a great mix of people. I miss a lot of them now!

The guest house itself is pretty basic- though there is hot water in one of the showers (!) and there are 2 western style toilets.
Don't hesitate to stay here!

Stayed here for three nights having returned to Bangkok to pick my Indian Visa, the previous time I stayed at the excellent Smile Society in Silom but I fancied a change and this place was highly rated in Hostelworld. It's a little tricky to find as it's off the beaten track but the owners give you fairly explicit instructions and it's extremely convienient for the BTS and Airport train (max 5 mins walk) and far more centally placed than most only being 10 mins walk to Siam Square.

Siam Journey is very small with one 8 bed dorm (it says 6 on their website but there are 8) however the dorm room is clean, well turned out and spacious with reading lights, individual power sockets and a powerful AC unit. The common area downstairs feels like a living room with cofffe table and sofas, there are two showers and two toilets.

The small size of SJ is it's key, as there only up to 8 people at any point you get to know people very quickly and the owner Nathan is very social and is constantly organising outings to local bars, cafes and markets. It more like staying with friends, possibly closer to what I imagine Couch surfing is like, it was very easy to relax and there are always something to do as expat friends of the owners popped in occasionally to socialise and join up for a few drinks or to sample a local restaurant (or trips to crazy rooftop bars, hip-hop competitions etc etc) I'm not into the party hostel scene so this was perfect as I got to make a load of new friends and chat to generally interesting people during my stay and felt very much at home.

The area where the guesthouse is located doesn't look much but it's where actual Thai people live so there's hardly any tourists (especially not the groups of dodgy old white guys that stalk the streets of Silom ewww) and the side street is full of kids playing in the street and locals going about their business. It may not appeal to your average Khao San Road Chang-monster, but if you want to meet up with some good folks and see some of the real Bangkok then look no further than Siam Journey.

We also have a rooftop area for our guests. We would like to make you feel as comfortable staying with us as you would feel in your own home. The guesthouse is located in central Bangkok.
