Possibly THE most beautiful hotel we've ever stayed at. Nothing was left to chance, every amenity, service, detail perfectly done. The staff was incredibly professional and warm. The breakfast served daily was spectacular and abundant. Truly no stone left unturned. We ended our 3 week trip to Thailand here, and had we started at The Siam first, not sure we ever would have left to see the rest of the beautiful country. Jason is a fantastic manager, very warm, very hands on, very experienced. Truly a memory making place.

Room Tip: we had a large room with a sitting area with bay windows. cappuccino machine in room, lovely

The Siam is an art deco dream, fabulously located on the Chao Phraya river. There is an impressive attention to detail throughout the hotel with an abundance of amazing memorabilia and stunning antiques, many of museum quality. Service is second to none and the landscaping simply gorgeous.

Our suite was exceptionally large and well appointed, with a fabulous bathroom and sitting area, although the air conditioning, though efficient, was surprisingly noisy.

I can't agree with Wagamama R's view of early March that The Siam and The Nam Hai are similar. (In fact, we are staying at the latter for the second year running right now.)

In our view, far from 'churning out mediocre and stale food', The Nam Hai's breakfasts are uniformly excellent as indeed is all their food - and we've had plenty of time to enjoy some truly memorable meals.

By contrast, we felt that both our breakfasts and our dinners at The Siam were disappointing - or, perhaps more accurately, we didn't share the (otherwise very personable, internationally experienced) chef's stated preference for artfully artless dishes, ie quite plain in taste as well as presentation, at least as far as international, ie non-Thai food is concerned.

Whether authentic or not, Thai food itself, on the other hand, seemed to us extremely highly spiced; indeed we found one such dish almost inedible for that reason, as well as in such quantity that we couldn't even finish it between us, let alone try anything else.

We may of course just have been unlucky as the Deco restaurant and chef were busy with a VIP dinner on our first night and also unavailable for our second, although both the GM and chef made up for lost time with a special complimentary dinner on our third (and last) night. Thank you both!

It's also true that there is an English language problem with the restaurant staff - but then my Thai isn't great either!

This is my second stay at "The Siam" and I have to say the service of Jason Friedman and his team is nothing short of excellent! I don't want to single out shining stars however, A (Food & Beverage Manager), Jill our butler who anticipated our every need long before we did ourselves, Amp or M who ensured that every morning our preferred table was set with the newspaper, expresso, mango etc (one could definitely become used to this attention to detail) ~ even relocating the umbrella to have the beautiful sunshine filtering through the sky.
The breakfasts were a wonderful start to the day, the service usually conducted by M and several other smiling attendants, made us count our blessings on just how fortunate we were staying at The Siam.
The Spa Manager was wonderful and the professional massages received by my husband & I were of the highest standard, thank you Wan!
We were absolutely spoilt on the night of my husband's birthday, the chef and her team could not have been more attentive. Once again the superb attention to detail was greatly appreciated, commencing with a sensational floral arrangement of the most magnificent orchids. The food was the best we have had in Bangkok! (Jane, a big thank you).
There are too many superlatives to select just a few ~ simply outstanding and we were made to feel like we were the only guests.
The rooms are so comfortable that it is often difficult to pull yourself away ~ the pool area was the most peaceful oasis, with the sun constantly shining across the river. My glass was regularly being refilled with chilled water and an iced cloth to cool down when the afternoon heat became a little too hot!
We will be back, the send off makes you want to turn around and cancel any plans to depart!!

Room Tip: Any room would be worthwhile, obviously higher (only 3 floors) or the Riverview Villas provide panor...

Enough has been said by the many other reviewers here so i won't need to say much more. I would concur with many of the other opinions and perhaps add that the service level is really top-notch. eager to please without being overbearing and examplary in hospitatllity standards! An absolute gem.

Staying at the Siam was one of the most beautiful experiences I have ever had. I was visually spoiled. The owners are collectors of antiques from Thailand and all around the world. Every room had 2 display cabinets with different artefacts and there are so many things in storage that the items, prints etc are changed quite regularly. It was a visual feast. Even though the hotel was only a few years old, it had a very art deco feel and it was grand. We had our own private butler that organised everything for us. The service and food were outstanding.
I will definitely be back.

I stayed at The Siam for a few days with friends celebrating a birthday last week. To say that we were absolutely thrilled is a complete understatement. Jason Friedman and his team were incredible from the gorgeous arrival off the hotel transfer yacht, to the fabulous cocktails and canapes, to the absolultely "nothing is too much trouble" attitude held by all the staff. The hotel itself is stunning, the antiques divine, but the devil is in the gorgeous details and the great staff. I would go back tomorrow and recommend it to anyone who wants a little something decadant in Bangkok.

Room Tip: 101 at the riverfront of the hotel is something completely out of this world. The courtyard, privat...

My wife and I recently stayed here and loved it. There is no doubt that enormous care and outstanding taste went into the design and decor. Dinner by the river was a beautiful experience in every way. The ambiance of the place is both stunning and soothing.
