“worstest breakfast in town”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

On 10 Au 2015, the breakfast venue is full so they took us to another venue on 25th floor saying it is the same as 24th floor and nicer because less people. The place is fine but food section is the worest from a 5 stars hotel. Food does not remark name proper so you have guess this is milk or soya drink etc. The scramble egg is terrible. This is the worstest breakfast I have ever had in my past 14 years of vacation in Bangkok.

Dear Wongsilvia,

Thank you for your feedback. We are dismayed to learn that your recent stay with us was marred by your breakfast experience on 10th of August, and we extend a sincere apology.
This is very atypical feedback for us to receive as we take great pride in our passionate staff and exceptional service and offerings we tend to provide.

With that in mind, I take your comments with the utmost seriousness.
We offered on that day three separate venues for breakfast, one being our Buffet in Up&Above, our signature Japanese Breakfast in Yamazato, and as an alternative, in a little more relaxed environment, the buffet in Elements adjacent to the pool. If you are amenable to - and comfortable with - connecting with me directly, I would very much like to do so, to make certain we are following up on this issue. I do hope the other aspects of your stay were more in line with your expectations.

Please be assured we will do everything we can to make certain an experience of this nature never happens again.

Thank you once again for your feedback and we do hope to connect with you.

The Okura is in a great location on Wireless Road and only a couple of stops on the BTS away from the main malls in Siam. Adding to the convenience the BTS station can be accessed through the Okura building. Not surprisingly the hotel has a very Japanese feel and would be well suited to the business traveller or people looking for a design inspired luxury hotel.

The staff were very helpful and the service was excellent. Housekeeping was efficient and the turn down service was a nice touch (extra towels, ice and an origami crane). A special shout out goes to the door men who were always on hand to arrange taxis, move luggage and give directions.

We stayed in a Deluxe room which was well appointed, nicely laid out and full of high end fixtures and fittings. The bed was big and comfortable, there was a large range of channels on the TV and the free Wi-Fi was welcome (as always). The touch pad for the lights, air con and other room functions was funky but a little confusing to use sometimes (getting the lights you want on but the others off). Our room was very quiet and the view over the neighbouring embassies and skyline was superb.

The bathroom was really cool and had a separate shower/bath room glass partitioned off from the sink and vanity. But, the Japanese toilet was the highlight; Robo-toilet for the win!

The only issue I had was the steep deposit on the credit card at check in which I was a little surprised at.

All around though the Okura is an outstanding hotel and we will definitely be back next time we are in Bangkok.

Dear Greg M,

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed and kind comment about your recent stay with us in Bangkok. We are oooover the moon!

We are delighted to hear that you had a memorable time and we always try to do our best to make sure our guests have the best experience while staying with us and it is a great reward to read that, for you, our hotel ended up being 'outstanding'. This is an amazing compliment and we are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your room, the staff and all our facilities we have to offer.

Sorry though for the misunderstanding with the deposit. We would normally pre-authorize your credit card, and not charge you in advance. I hope this has been the case, and not otherwise.

We hope to have the pleasure of seeing you again soon in Thailand in the near future.

Yours sincerely

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in late July 2014. It made me feel staying at home. The location is fantastic. Area around the hotel are quiet and tidy with many descent coffee shop. However, you would reach the most busiest shopping area within 15 minutes walk or tram ride. The breakfast is excellent with many kind of fruits to choose. Be aware of eating too much.

Dear Simon L,

Thank you for giving us such great feedback on your TripAdvisor review following your recent stay at our Bangkok property!

We are delighted our location was of such a big plus to you, especially for the shopping. Just opened and across the road is the Central Embassy Mall which is a great addition to our neighbourhood, and a footbridge connects this mall to Central Chidlom, which is my personal favourite shopping place in town.
Thank you too for your very kind comments with regards to our staff and the service we all provided, making you feel like home.

We look forward to welcoming you back to The Okura Prestige on your next trip to Thailand.

With our very best regards

The hotel is very convenience, located just next to BTS station, opposite to the new opening shopping mall! I stayed at the corner room with two-side big windows, excellence view of the city. The hotel was very sweet to prepare something for my anniversary! The staff are friendly, breakfast is delicious, room is super nice. Everything is perfect!

Room Tip: Corner room view is much better!

Very friendly and courteous staff from concierge to turndown service. Cozy and spacious room with excellent city view.

Our two young children got all excited once stepped into the room with such large windows! Love all the amenity items, especially the thoughtfulness they have put into for children - the baby goodies bag and the adorable Okura teddy bear for above 2-year-old. Our boys, 3.5-year-old, and 21 months, were thoroughly surprised and happy with these little gifts! The hand wash by the washing basin comes in very handy, love it.

The infinity pool is certainly a must-go - I was amazed with the night view while swimming! The best thing is that children are welcome to use the pool as long as they are accompanied and supervised by adults, a lot of hotel pools usually do not allow children under the age of 12.

The Japanese breakfast is excellent. The Japanese staff made us feel very warm with her friendliness and attentiveness.

Extremely pleasant stay and will definitely choose The Okura Prestige Bangkok again!

Dear Jundensior,

It was a pleasure turning on the computer this morning and reading your review. I am glad that you and the family thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us here in Bangkok and that you made full use of the hotel, especially our signature pool.
Could you also take advantage of our direct BTS Sky-Train connection? Especially with children, this means of transport is the easiest if you wish to explore the city or just head out shopping.

I and all our 380 associates hope of having the pleasure to welcoming you back to the Okura Prestige when next in Bangkok.
All the best until then

The Okura Prestige in Bangkok is perfectly located with a direct access to the Bangkok Skytrain. The hotel lobby as well as the rooms are designed in a very modern and luxurious way. The rooms are large and offer all amenities one can imagine. You get free Video-on-Demand-Movies as well as free Wifi which worked perfectly. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend and if I return to Bangkok I will again choose this hotel.

Dear citTravel2000,

Thank you for reviewing our boutique property here in Bangkok. Being in a central location with easy access to all of the shopping and strolling through Bangkok’s busy pavements is a must while here and being able to directly access Bangkok’s BTS ‘Sky Train’ from our building brings many areas in the city within easy reach.

We are also glad you enjoyed your room. Due to the unique shape of our building we offer various room types, my personal favourite is the Prestige Rooms Type where the bed faces the window.
What all rooms have in common is that they offer a great view as the lowest guest room floor is on the 26th Level.

Thank you for your business and we certainly hope to see you again soon!

Went here as a part of my honeymoon. We were very impressed by everyone and everything. Cannot say enough good things about this place. The complementary drinks, canapés, jaw dropping pool, and unparalleled service makes this the best hotel in Bangkok. Just book it, you'll love it.
