For months I had bored anyone I knew with knowledge of the city: if you only have one night, where would you go? This came up 3 times so off we went. Luckily easy to get to with sky train and a short walk. We booked the day before but in hindsight, book about a week in advance for this. There was some sort of trendy DJ event taking place when we went and every table was reserved. I was pretty cross that we had been given a couple of low bar stools and tables on the terrace and that we could not have a proper indoor table. Had not been made clear when I booked. I had not really fancied having a posh meal on bar tables but.. we made the best of it. Once we had had a couple of pretty good cocktails it faded in importance. We pushed the boat out with foie gras, steak and lobster. It was all top notch. With Cocktails, generous wine by the glass and essentially the most expensive menu items our bill was £130 for 2. About half of what it would have been here in London for the same. We had our city view and a trendy, international meal with great people watching and a lively vibe. This was modern Bangkok and we were smitten.
