Owner description: ASIATIQUE The Riverfront will be Bangkok’s first large-scale riverside project combining shopping, dining, sightseeing, activities and events under one roof. The strong cultural aspect is what sets it apart from other shopping malls. Embracing history, but avoiding the cultural clichés and traditional symbols, it strikes a balance between tradition and globalization.

Its set in an replica old warehouse with massive shopping space and you can find a lot of restaurants offering different variety here. Easily accessible from the Saphan Taksin BTS station where you can take a shutter boat from the pier back and forth with no cost. Shopping stalls are spaced out nicely and it does replicate the now defunct Suan Lum night bazaar. Avoid peak hours such as dinner time as the queue for the boat can be long. Overall great shopping and dining experience.

Place was clean overall and well set out with many places too eat. Felt it was more expensive than some of the other markets or shopping malls in Bangkok with less choice.
Our meal we chose there was too spicy for us.
Overall an ok place but would rather do the weekend markets and MBK if you are going to shop in Bangkok. Would rather advise to go to the markets in Chiagmai if going there to visit, more fun, more selection and better prices.

If you're up for some Chatuchak style of shopping during weekdays and not just weekends, Asiatique would be the place to go to. It's in an old pier area converted into a big market place by the waterfront. You can go by car / taxi or take BTS to Thaksin and connect there by the free ferry ride of about 15 mins. You can see the big ferris wheel from afar.

The market place is divided into different areas, some are filled with restaurants, some have shops and some have stalls. They even have a theatre and you can watch some movies. I find it a great place for shopping - you can find the Chatuchak style shopping there but it's more high end and cleaner. It's smaller though.

A place not to be missed!

I agree with some of the reviews on the dangerous boat ride. I witnessed it on my way back. To prevent from being 1 of the possible victim, do what I did. I went there at 4.30 pm, before the official opening time of 5pm and left at 7.30pm. When I went, no traffic. When I left, it was when crowds started to stream in, so either ways, my boat journeys were quite safe.

Direction : take bts to sapan thaksin bts. Once u reach the pier, go to extreme left dock and wait for the shuttle.

Alot of unique shops. Pricier than your normal MBK or platinum mall but it's all about lifestyle shopping and dining. Alot of kiosks selling local foods and drinks. Can be quite humid at some areas so occasional escapes into air- conditioned shops are inevitable.

I went to Asiatique three times during my trip and I found it to be the best market! The Chatuchak market was far too crowded and busy and the Platinum mall was too focused on wholesale. It's a nice place to take a stroll. grab a bite to eat, and do some easy shopping!
