We have stayed at this hotel four times and the service is really special. It is a resort and all the restaurants are really excellent although the Japanese is a little expensive. We love the swimming pool in a tropical garden setting and for that matter all the surrounding gardens. Any special request is given serious consideration and you really feel special all the time and any issues we had which were minimal were given immediate and positive attention. I travel a lot and this hotel is top for me on value and service, a serous consideration if you are visiting Bangkok.

Room Tip: We prefer a higher room floor since the views of the river in particular are stunning.

The hotel is away from central Bangkok and provides a wonderful atmosphere that will bring out the best of Thailand. The complimentary breakfast spread is excellent (6am-10:30am) and covers variety of food. While taking the free ferry to the nearest Skytrain station can eventually become a little burdensome, the tranquil atmosphere provided by the location definitely outweighs any negative aspect (distance to the skytrain) of this hotel.

A wonderful 2 night stay at the Anantara. The location was fabulous, away from the madness and noise of central Bangkok. There is a free ferry shuttle between the hotel and downtown area and Asiatique, the night market which is well worth a visit. The river breeze was much needed in all the heat.
The staff at the hotel were very attentive and made the start of our honeymoon very special - the cake from número UNO was amazing and well received. Wish we had stayed longer as there is a lot of good facilities.
If I had to make one recommendation it would be with regards to the wi-fi. 30 minutes free is not enough and in most other places we have stayed wifi availability is free of charge 24 hours. Nonetheless, thank you for your lovely welcome and wonderful stay. If we return to Bangkok we will certainly stay and would recommend it.

I picked this hotel for the resort feel & look instead of most of the hotels in Bangkok.. Well, I am so glad I did.. This is a beautiful property and the service was truly amazing.. They were all attentive, pleasant and willing to help..This is a great hotel, worth the money oh and I have to agree with the other reviews about the breakfast, it is great!!!! Will be back..

My husband and I have just left the Anantara Riverside Spa & Resort where we had a wonderful stay. We were there 6 nights and just loved it. Our suite was a great size and very comfortable with a lovely riverfront view. It felt like being at a vacation resort, which was great considering we were in Bangkok on business. It was a really nice place to be based. The spa was so good and the ladies there were very gracious and welcoming. I visited the spa just about every day! My husband has some pretty extreme dietary restrictions at the moment and I am gluten intolerant. Chefs Ashley and Ivan were just amazing at accomodating our needs and seeing that we were able to eat what we needed to eat. They really went above the call of duty. We will be back!

Having been to Bangkok before and had a hectic few days on the tourist trails on our return this year we were looking for a more relaxed visit based at a hotel which was near enough to get around Bangkok but in a position of more tranquility and that's what we got.
We stayed at the Anantara for 3 nights. The Anantara is a great hotel with a tranquil ambience. The room was large, we did upgrade to a river view room and it was worth it (can't imagine there is view from the non river side). Great views of the river with a balcony to relax and enjoy the view from. The quality of the room, food and service/staff was fantastic. With a huge choice of food for breakfast too. Albeit a little pricey on the food and drinks but our experience has been that this tends to be the case. There is a shopping complex in front of the hotel where there is a Thai restaurant serving great food, some stalls and shops too.
The hotel runs a free and efficient river shuttle from early morning till late evening which is a fantastic amenity and is great to get into the city. From the pier you can easily get to silom and the sky train network. There is also a small kiosk at the bangkok pier which offered a good exchange rate for British sterling vs the Uk exchange establishments and Bangkok airport. In the evenings the boat does also stop at asiatique which is also worth a visit, I've never seen so many stalls under one roof. (good choice if it's raining!).
On arrival from the airport, taxis did struggle to know the hotel so worth having a map rather than just the address. I would recommend getting a taxi to/from the airport, it was around 500 baht each way.
The pool is a great place to soak up the sun too, there is also happy hour in the late afternoon with a good choice of cocktails etc.
We would definitely stay here again, it's a very nice hotel at a sensible price.
To summarise, the title says it all - a great escape from the attractive craziness that is Bangkok.

Room Tip: River view worth the upgrade if you are staying a few nights.

We stayed for 8 nights at this hotel for our first holiday in Thailand. We loved the fact that it was out of the main city, and the beautiful gardens made it a wonderfully relaxing place to come back to after a hot day's sightseeing. The pool and poolside area was superb, and the provision of cooling fruit/ ice lollies / cool towels was very much appreciated. The staff were always smiling and helpful. The free hotel ferry ride to the main ferry terminal was also a bonus, and an enjoyable part of the holiday. There are a wide choice of restaurants and in our opinion they were very reasonably priced (compared to Dubai where we live!). We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bangkok.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view - its definitely worth any extra charge!
