Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort
Ranked #17 of 890 Hotels in Bangkok
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 3 August 2014

We stayed at Anantara suite and it was one of the most amazing stays we have had in Bangkok. The suite is extremely spacious, well designed and recently renovated. Except the south wing Most of the hotel is under renovation, which it needs, and there is a new building coming up next to it but we felt no disturbance during our visit. I think it was due to our room location so make sure you ask for a room away from construction

We got Kasara lounge facility with the suite and it is worth the extra money one pays. The staff is super helpful and well groomed. The service is worth paying for. The overall service of the hotel specially the concierge is very good.

Although, the hotel is across the river but there is a boat service to the sky train station so it is very easy to connect to any part in Bangkok.

We tried the italian and the river side restaurant and the food was good in both places. I also had a chance meeting with a resident manager and requested him for a late check out which was done without any questions.

The drawbacks with the hotel are the pool which is 3 meters deep at one end and not really for easy lazing around with kids and kids club which is very ill equipped for a hotel mostly used by families.

Overall a great place to stay!

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from construction or get ready for some noisy time

Dear Mr Saurabh A,

Thank you for your kind words, great to see you and your family had a great time in our suite and did enjoy the benefits of our Kasara Lounge. I am glad the works in our other buildings did not disturb you, we will make sure to assign all our guests rooms in our South building away from any noise.

We will work on redoing the kids club activities and make it more interactive, thanks for bringing this under our attention.

We look forward having you as our guest again during your next holiday in Bangkok.

Kind regards,

Nikolaus Priesnitz

We arrived at this beautiful resort on the first day of the coupe. The staff was amazing, letting us know what we could do and go in spite of the military unrest. The hotel was beautiful - the center pieces on tables made me stop and take a pictures. The rooms were luxurious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was unreal - so many choices and options from many different cultures. There was a Indian bar, bakery, fresh fruits, meats, all different kinds of eggs, etc. The ferry from the resort to the different shops was a great touch. Even under curfew and lockdown of the city, the resort kept us informed and educated, as well as making it still feel like a safe environment. We had such a great visit we will bring our kiddos back.

Best place for families in Bankok with a very nice place to play around the pool and not far from the city center and the nicest monuments. like Wat Pho, Grand Palace, Wat Arun or the Klongs.
The very good restaurant on place.

Room Tip: A part of the hotel was in renovation but we didnt ear anithing. Probably prefer the rooms in front...

A glorious resort like comfort within city limits. Anantara is a quite place to relax and enjoy.

If you are with your lady love then Dinner by Design perfectly laid down by the river is a must. A very personal and secluded arrangement with apt background of pier on one side and modernity of bridges on the other side

Plenty of restaurants to choose from within the resort catering to various taste.

A taxi to down town would cost approximately BT 150 one way. Do check if taxi meter works and not tempered. Check the visible seal. If it is broken then don't ride and ask for another taxi. It is easy to be cheated by taxi drivers.

Spa is good but not so great. I will rate it as average compared to other luxurious facilities outside the resort.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the city noices, this is the place to relax. I will glady recommend this property to my friends and family.

First time staying at this hotel usually stay elsewhere, but will definitely be going back. From check in the staff were so polite and friendly, the room 288 was gorgeous everything you could possibly require and free wifi. The bbq buffet was exceptional along with the breakfast. The swimming pool was large and a haven of flowers and trees you wouldn't know you were in the middle of a busy city.

There are some Hotel stays that stand apart from the rest, this was one of them. Every staff member from cleaner, to receptionist greeted with us with a welcome and a smile. Fabulous pool area with tropical gardens around giving a sense of calm in the middle of a busy city. Rooms are elegant, contemporary and very comfortable (we even had a coffee pod machine). Free ferry shuttle across to a local night market (good option for a budget meal), many lovely restaurants, but they are a little expensive. We ate at the Italian and it was superb. We had a bit of an issue with noise which kept us awake late into the night and we slept through the alarm. The reception staff immediately organised a late checkout and as we had missed breakfast, organised a complimentary meal in their cafe. This is the sort of service you expect from a Hotel of this calibre, and Anantara delivers. 10/10 to management and staff... exceptional ...we can't wait to come back.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences. Glad you enjoyed our swimming pool and our Italian restaurant but it gives me great pleasure to see that the team managed to recover your day by providing an alternative for breakfast. We look forward having you as our guest again soon.
