“EXCELLENT! Loved this place.”

Nothing could have been better at the Anantara. The whole experience was perfect from beginning to end. The luxurious setting really made our stay in Bangkok a memorable experience, and the staff were only too happy to help. Also, I must point out that the breakfast was the best breakfast I have ever had in any hotel, and by far - the choice was quite simply out of this world!
There were many honeymooning couples when we visited, and I can only imagine they had an amazing honeymoon.

Good service, great pool, and very easy to take a longboat to travel to the market or to the Royal Palace. Food at the hotel is expensive, almost western rates. Staff is very kind and they have rooms with connecting doors when you are travelling with children.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a view at the River

Dear Abihigyuan 862000,

Thank you for your lovely review, seeing you are from Bangkok we hope to see you more often, the resort is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the City. We have some wonderful new bands playing at Trader Vic’s which you might want to come and listen to.

Feel free to contact me at any time at Npriesnitz@anantara.com if you need more information on the events we are having at the resort.

Kind regards,

There is no denying that this hotel is a beautiful complex that offers peace and tranquility and access to the fast and the furious of Bangkok. My problem is that I stayed here after staying at the Centara Grand Mirage in Pattaya which really was breathtaking and I wasnt quite as overwhelmed by this hotel.

Room- It was always clean, it is spacious, beautifully decorated and oozes luxury. We would have liked a river facing room but this was more expensive. On hindsight, I wish we had booked such a room because we had no view from our balcony at all.

Hotel Grounds- Again, they were well kept. The pool was an adequate size for purpose (just sunbathe for a couple of hours and sight-see for the most part). Pool towels provided. The hotel is full of nature- we had a Ghecko in the room, there was a baby kimono dragon around the pool area, there are ponds full of fish and the hotel has food you can use to feed them.

Restaurants- We had a complimentary dinner in the BBQ restaurant on the river which was lovely. We had breakfast in the hotel which was lovely- sausage, bacon, omelette, pancakes, fruit... all you could ask for. For dinner and tea my partner and I went out of the hotel. We caught the free boat to Asiatique and over to the main pier and were not short of places to eat. I personally loved the sweetcorn from street vendors. Make sure it is hot! We ate in many shopping mall food courts and thought they were brilliant.

Transport- Taxis are readily available- ask reception. However, I would highly recommend using the free hotel boat. In the day it runs every 20 minutes ish between the hotel and the main pier which gives you access to the rush of Bangkok. In the night it also stops at the night market Asiatique which is well worth a visit for food and souvenirs. River boats that run between Asiatique and central pier are also freely available.

Excursions- My partner and I visited the marble temple and the temple of dawn whilst staying at the hotel. I loved seeing all the temples and would recommend a visit to any that are accessible to you. We also went to the sky bar which is where a scene from hangover 2 was filmed (think helicopter). Expensive but well worth a visit because the views are sensational.

Staff- So polite and so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and I think the British could learn a lot from Thai people! I was walking to reception with a postcard and didnt even get there because a member of staff had seen me and offered to take it there for me. The postcard made it home. And they did no expect tips left right and center.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants access to the rush of Bangkok but wants access to peace and tranquility as well. Whilst we were there, there was work being done on the hotel but it did not disturb us at all.

Book!

Stayed at the hotel for three nights and experienced overwhelming service and support from Volker, Vincent and the other staff. The pool is incredible, a wonderful Happy Hour (4 to 6 each day) and a breakfast to die for is all part of the standard experience.

While you have to take a quick boat shuttle to get into town, it is part of the experience.

And for a good massage, go outside the front entrance road, turn left and walk half a block and there is a great massage place, sorry no name for the place, but worthwhile.

We stayed at Anantara suite and it was one of the most amazing stays we have had in Bangkok. The suite is extremely spacious, well designed and recently renovated. Except the south wing Most of the hotel is under renovation, which it needs, and there is a new building coming up next to it but we felt no disturbance during our visit. I think it was due to our room location so make sure you ask for a room away from construction

We got Kasara lounge facility with the suite and it is worth the extra money one pays. The staff is super helpful and well groomed. The service is worth paying for. The overall service of the hotel specially the concierge is very good.

Although, the hotel is across the river but there is a boat service to the sky train station so it is very easy to connect to any part in Bangkok.

We tried the italian and the river side restaurant and the food was good in both places. I also had a chance meeting with a resident manager and requested him for a late check out which was done without any questions.

The drawbacks with the hotel are the pool which is 3 meters deep at one end and not really for easy lazing around with kids and kids club which is very ill equipped for a hotel mostly used by families.

Overall a great place to stay!

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from construction or get ready for some noisy time

We arrived at this beautiful resort on the first day of the coupe. The staff was amazing, letting us know what we could do and go in spite of the military unrest. The hotel was beautiful - the center pieces on tables made me stop and take a pictures. The rooms were luxurious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was unreal - so many choices and options from many different cultures. There was a Indian bar, bakery, fresh fruits, meats, all different kinds of eggs, etc. The ferry from the resort to the different shops was a great touch. Even under curfew and lockdown of the city, the resort kept us informed and educated, as well as making it still feel like a safe environment. We had such a great visit we will bring our kiddos back.
