Nice Hotel stay. Hotel has all desired amenities for a global chain. Located in the heart of Bangkok, close to shopping and lots of eateries. We had no negative experiences at this hotel. Excellent price to value ratio.

I stayed here for three nights and had a very pleasant experience. The staff are extraordinarily polite and helpful. As a platinum member, I received an automatic room upgrade and the room was very nice. The concierge lounge had very nice breakfast (I was able to enjoy some very tasty asian breakfast choices) and evening "heavy hors d'oeuvres" and some good wines; servers were very attentive and treated guests as if they were in a nice private club. The large gym was well equipped and popular (crowded), but the pool was a bit short for serious lap swimming. I was able to get a great foot massage treatment at the spa at a very reasonable rate. There were several interesting shops including one that sold some nice glazed orchid jewelry. The restaurants looked enticing but unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to try them. The lobby and entryway was expansive and nicely decorated, with lots of comfortable nooks and frequent live performers at the piano or traditional instruments. The reception desk was very efficient and took care of arrangements for AOT car service back to the airport (with a printed reminder of the booking placed under my door). I thoroughly enjoyed this hotel and would definitely return here. It isn't quite as luxurious and well equipped as the JW Marriott in Seoul (full lap pool and huge gym; incredible concierge lounge; etc.) but it comes a very close second and is probably the very best Marriott hotels - for service - that I have stayed in.

It was my second stay here as need to do business in the area. The location is a bit difficult if you are not familiar with the surrounding. Nice bathroom and great service from the staff. Still the same standard since my last visit a year ago.

Platinum membership 'gift' did not arrive; hot water stopped on saturday afternoon, replaced by cold brown sludge; expected a checkout without having to appear, but got a cold email the next day, executive lounge breakfast was great. Strange double door entrance. Hotel not easy to find and depart in the depths of one-way Sukhumvit Soi 2. Close to Nana Plaza if that rocks your world.

Dear JustHangingAround

Thank you for your review about your recent stay at the JW Marriott Bangkok. It is with much regret to learn that not all went well during your stay and I hasten to apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused to you.

I agree that the Platinum Gift should have been there for you upon your arrival. I have taken this up with my Team already. There was indeed a temporary problem with the water supply that afternoon which was quickly rectified by the Engineers on Duty.

It would be nice if you would decide to return to the JW Marriott Bangkok once more enabling us to restore your faith in our services.

Best regards

I've stayed in hotels all over the world, and just for the records, over 500 stays at the Marriott's in the last 3 years. The staff at the executive lounge is superb, very professional, and friendly.
Congratulations to the manager for keeping an excellent crew at the lounge, and of course to the staff.

Room Tip: Ask for the renovated rooms.

Stayed here on business in Sept 2013 and loved it.

While the Hotel may not be brand new, you can tell they used the best fittings when it opened. High grade dark wooden bedroom furniture was appreciated over the cheap and flimsy rubbish you get in many hotels. Beautiful linens, towels and carpets throughout spelt quality.

Service was also excellent, professional and unobtrusive. They instinctively know what each type of guest requires and accommodate that happily.

Check out the first floor Chinese restaurant. It's not well advertised in the Hotel, but excellent.

Dear bax52

Thank you for posting a review about your recent stay at the JW Marriott Bangkok. I like the approach you have taken in describing the hotel and your words are very meaningful given that you are a Top Contributor to this forum.

It indeed isn't the newest hotel in town, being in the 17th year of operation. All guest rooms have been refurbished, some of them twice already. The hotel portrays elegance. Thank you for recommending the service levels across the hotel. There are over 550 associates working in this property and they much appreciate your recognition.

The Man Ho Chinese Restaurant is well liked by hotel guests and local patrons alike for the daily fresh Dim Sum (all you can eat style) at lunch. Thank you for making a note of it.

It would be great to welcome you back soon again. Thank you for your review once more and sending you very best regards.

I was not impressed with this hotel and am surprised at the high ratings given to the executive lounge. The staff was nice, but the food was not that good compared to other executive lounges I have eaten in. Especially the 3:00 tea selection – very weak.

We have stayed at the Marriott Renaissance just down the street 4 or 5 times and rate them a 5 every time. I would recommend you stay there instead. The rooms are much nicer (especially the bathroom) and the location is much better – closer to the MRT. And I think the staff is better, offering you a welcome drink a free foot massage with the exec check in....

Room Tip: choose the Marriott Renaissance down the street!

Dear paris28

It is with much regret to read your review and to learn that you haven't enjoyed your recent stay at the JW Marriott Bangkok.

I have looked into the afternoon tea selection in view of your comments and we have already improved selection and set up. The Executive Lounge has received many nice compliments about the food on offer and the service levels in this forum. Your comments encourage us to work further on consistency. We have to be as good in what we are doing today as we have been yesterday.

The JW Marriott Bangkok's location at Sukhumvit Road and the location of the Renaissance Ratchaprasong are similar - two to three minutes away from the respective BTS station.

I have noticed your comment that indeed you prefer our sister hotel in the future. I respect that, at the same time thanking you for giving preference to Marriott operated properties when coming to Bangkok.

Sincerely Yours
