“A Great Stay in Bangkok”
Reviewed 12 January 2014

Our second stay at this JW and certainly worth it. The Platinum upgrade to the Executive Floor and lounge access truly made the stay extra special, but the hotel is great on its own. Super location near the Nana Skytrain station and lots of shopping and eating places. Service, of course, couldn't be topped. Sabreena (one of the managers) made it a point to chat with us every evening in the lounge and answered any/all of our questions and shared suggestions on places to shop and eat. She truly cared about us having an enjoyable and memorable stay. And everything in the lounge was great, food, drink and service, throughout the day. Metta, in the mornings, always had a pleasant word and smile - and made GREAT omelets. "Babe" the concierge (actually her name is Taviporn but told us everyone calls her Babe) also went out of her way to make our stay pleasant and enjoyable and arranged several events for us, as well as our transportation back to the airport. Little doubt that on our next trip to Bangkok, we'll choose the JW again.

There really isn't anything this hotel doesn't have. JW Marriot is conveniently located in the middle of the city right off the Skytrain near Nana. There is a bar in the entrance with reception on the right corner with a restaurant off to the side

The rooms are decent with a large bed and a good sized bathroom. The real hallmark to the hotel is the excellent service at every level. The gym is also perhaps one of the best in any hotel with tons of machines, a great locker room with steam, shower and Jacuzzi. I had an unbelievable Thai massage in The Spa

If you are looking for a hotel in the middle of Bangkok, JW should definitely be considered

Nice, clean and chain name. If you are looking for a good place to stay close to Nana then this will be one of the best choices. The price is expensive for Bangkok given the fact that there are hotels which are as good for half the price. The customer service is great and the location is nice. JW will never disappoint you.

Stayed at the JW for 5 days over New year.
Rooms were very clean and comfortable and all public areas very pristine.
Stayed on executive floor and must say the lounge is one of the best we have ever had with the added bonus of outside terrace. All the staff on the 'exc floor and lounge were excellent and very friendly.
During our stay we visited the Nami Teppenyaki Steakhouse in the hotel. The service was tops and the Kobe beef, Just excellent. Well worn a visit! To finish our evening we had a night cap in the lobby bar and the Irish coffee was the best I have ever had.
The Wifi was very temperamental at times. On three occasions during our stay our room key would not work (our son also had the same problem with his room key) however the problem was delt with immediately.
The hotel is very close to the the sky train so getting around was easy.
A great stay at this hotel.

We stayed here for only one night at the end of an extended stay in SE Asia. The hotel itself is stately and elegant. Feels a bit special as it should. The rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. The staff was most attentive and gracious. It really seemed genuine.
Overall our experience was very good. Should you get a favorable rate I would recommend the property as it's location is also a factor depending upon your needs. Train stop is close by. Business sorts and couples are ideal for this hotel. Enjoy!

Profile: Business trip

Pros: hotel on Sukhumvit Rd and 2 min walk to Sky Train stop.

Cons: hotel feels a bit dated but very well kept otherwise. Internet was patchy at times.

Overview: hotel good for business trip but business centre service was a little slow. Outside lines are noisy so if calling into conference calls it was hard to hear what was being said. I ended up using my mobile. Other than that experience was good.

Dear KHillis2012

I like to inform you and readers of this forum that the property will install an entirely new telephone system this coming weekend (February 1 and 2, 2014) which will more than eliminate noises in the telephone lines. All guest rooms will be furnished with new telephones as well.

In addition the property will replace the current WIFI devices in all 441 guest rooms and public areas within April of this year, installing latest generation wireless devices. We expect a distinct improvement for internet accessibility and convenience.

It would be nice to welcome you back to the JW Marriott Bangkok soon again. In the meantime I am sending you very best regards.

Stayed 4 nights. Rooms are spacious, well appointed and very clean. Hotel is central to everything. Always greeted with a smile from all employees. The breakfast is the best with a wide variety items and a nice touch that they will blend any fruit or vegetable at your request. Lastly, Nami Teppenyaki Steakhouse service is impeccable and the Kobe beef is to die for!!!

I am thrilled to read your review. Thank you for taking time and trouble to share your experience with other readers of this forum.

It is very nice to be recognized for a hotel to be called "home away from home", a very meaningful way to say that you felt comfortable, that you liked the room and the service excellence and the location too. Thank you for mentioning the Nami Teppanyaki Steakhouse, a Restaurant which is much loved and frequented by Locals and Hotel Guests alike.

It would be great to welcome you back again in the not too distant future. Thank you once more for your post and sending you very best regards.
