Mayfair, Bangkok - Marriott Executive Apartments

Reviewed 11 January 2014

Our family of 4 just returned from a 3 week trip to Asia, where we ended our trip with 5 days in Bangkok. We stayed at the Marriott Executive Apartments and were SO happy that we did. The staff was nice, spoke english well, and was a great resource for us regarding locations of interest and transportation. The location of the hotel is really great...a decent area of town and very close to the Sky Train, which was our main mode of transportation while in Bangkok...we also used the Chao Phraya Tourist Boat a lot. Our two bedroom suite was well appointed, including the kitchen, and was a great value for the money we paid. Continental breakfast and wifi were not included in our rate, but we were fine with going to the lobby or the pool area for free wifi if we wanted to check email or use the internet. We did the continental breakfast our first morning...a good variety, but a bit spendy at about $18US per person, but it was nice to have the breakfast available if we wanted it. We ended up going around the corner to the Villa Market and stocking up on a few things for breakfast and snacks...prices are higher on most things than we pay in the US, but it wasn't too bad...just don't expect to get your haagen daz fix until you get home unless you want to spend about $9US for a pint:) Airport transportation should run you about 600-700 THB between the hotel and either of Bangkok's airports. Be sure to check out the view from the pool deck at night:)

Paid for an upgrade for the 2 bdrm 2 bath on a higher floor and it was sooo worth it!! The view was excellent and the furnishings were more upscale. Traveling with family, so the space and amenities were perfect!! The washer and dryer were also put to use!! The staff were so courteous and
accommodating. Will definitely stay there again! Only change is to Not use spa services. Not worth the price... Perhaps since it was last minute they just called whoever was available... Should have gone elsewhere as there are several really nice spas on the area...The location is in walking distance to so many things good, shopping and things to go and it is easy to get a cab or tuk tuk... The best part was the extremely comfy beds and large luxurious bathrooms!!!

This was my first stay at the Mayfair Marriott in Bangkok and the property was excellent, the location was superb as it was very much approachable to the sky train and all shopping locations through the sky train were hardly with in 10 to 15 minutes reach.
The breakfast served every day was quite good , the deluxe suite one bedroom apartment was very spacious and the decor was neatly done and the best part was the staff was very friendly and helpful.
I would certainly recommend this property in Bangkok as it's value for money.

Room Tip: If you are a family of three then you opt for the deluxe suite on the higher floor.

I have been staying at the Mayfair Marriott for almost 10 years now, and have stayed perhaps a total of 200 nights or more. I can say without reservation that it is the best hotel I have ever stayed at.

What makes it that way is the staff who are kindly, loving and attentive. It all starts at the top with the Manager,Khun Supap, who is there every morning in the lobby greeting everyone as they go to work or tourism. What other hotel do you know where the number 1 person is so accessible?

Everyone from the assistant manager Jorge to the women at the front desk, Katie among others, to the girls who help you get taxis--Aw and Wan--even the housekeeping staff are friendly.

Other reviewers spoke abut the rooms so I will not repeat that, nor the great location. It all boils down to the staff, which makes me come back time and time again.

Room Tip: if you have a family ask for a 2 bedroom suite.

HI I stayed there from 3rd Jan to 7th Jan with My wife & 4 yr old daughter. Rooms are good. Cozy. Some basic amenities like Bathroom sleepers, few More vessels in room can be helpful. But honestly No complaints. Yes Kids room needs Some more activities. CCTV camera, as its an Important thing now a days.

Breakfast needs some more items for Veggies. ( although we didnt have one as we looked at the menu & Realised that it wasnt what a Marriot should have as Items were too less for vegeterians.)

We have stayed at this property many times and we keep coming back. The staff are excellent and treat us more like friends rather than guests. We arrived on Friday 27th December 2013 and wanted to do something on New Years Eve, very short notice, but a young man who works at the hotel (I forget his name) organised a dinner cruise and we got to see both lots of fire works on the river. The ladies on the front door are truly excellent and have a wealth of information about things to do and see. This is really become our second home with usually four visits a year.
