This hotel is perfect if you are just passing through Don Muang Airport in Bangkok, as I was. A very short walk from the arrivals area takes you to reception. Check in was quick and polite, and the room was very good (although mine was a long walk from the front desk and restaurant areas). I had lunch in the Zeppelin restaurant as it is open till 5, when it closes and the other restaurant opens, the Henry J Bean grill. I had dinner here and the food was a little disappointing but adequate. The staff here were above average with good service, nice to chat too and lots of smiles (as Thailand used to be like!). If I ever pass through Don Muang again I would definitely stay here again.

We booked this hotel as we were arriving into the airport in the evening and flying out at 6am the next morning. You literally walk out of security and into the hotel and it's a 5 minute walk to the departures, the location couldn't be any better. The rooms are also amazing, huge flat screen TV, the comfiest bed, lovely bathrooms, tea and coffee making facilities etc. really, really great place. Just a shame we couldn't stay for longer!

This's hotel is 2 mins walk from arrivals/Departures at Don Muang Airport (Bangkok's second airport) if you have a late/early flight I recommend this hotel. We had a family room and it was massive and beautifully decorated with top quality amenities. A couple of on site restaurants to chose from and great value for money.

Stayed there on a business trip. Good rooms and friendly staff. Stayed there for a week and ate in the bar restaurant most nights. Friendly bar staff and quality food prepared fresh in the bar grill. The pool area is clean with plenty of sun lounges although the pool is now looking a bit tired. Don't expect a full English. The hotel is a stop over hotel for Asian flights, there is plenty of choice of food but not what someone from the UK would expect. If you want a good cup of tea at breakfast take your own tea bags, there is hot water and milk for you to use.
Recommend catching a taxi to IT Square, a shopping mall about a mile down the road, if you fancy a different place to eat and Thai cuisine. You can even get a good massage there.
The centre of Bangkok is about 30min away depending on traffic. Catch a taxi from outside the hotel, they pass every few minutes.
The main international airport is about 40 min away, When arriving, catch a street taxi from the lower level of the airport, it costs around £12. Don't use the limo service at the airport arrivals its twice as much. Make sure you have baht with you for the toll fares on the freeway, the taxi driver will ask you to pay them.
Leave plenty of time when going back to the airport the roads at peak time are horrific.

Room Tip: Book a pool view not much to see the other side of the hotel

We have only 1 complain but its very important for us as we get the first impression at the front desk.

PROS:
- Excellent location as we were travelling in Air Asia from Bangkok to near by locations.
- Our Ayutthaya Day trip was also very convenient from this hotel location
- Room was very good and clean
- Room service was excellent
- Breakfast buffet was good

CONS:
- Only one - Poor service at front desk

This is the place where you get the very first impression and it was such a disappointment that this was the ONLY location in Thailand where we didn't greet nicely by a Thai lady. The lady at the front desk was so rude and not paying attention to us. Hotel was booked on my name - Adya Das and my husband handed her 2 passports and the reservation printout. She opened his passport first and said very rudely that he cant stay in the hotel as room is not booked in his name. She didn't wanted to pay attention that I am standing with him and the reservation printout said that its for 2 adults!

This hotel is great if you have some time between flights at Don Muang Airport as it connects with the airport.
I don't think you would stay there for any other reason though, however for an overnight stay when catching a very early morning flight - it was very convenient. The deluxe rooms are actually quite nice although some renovated and some not.
The pool area is not great and the pool bar closes at 5pm?? The restaurant/bar in the hotel is ok with plenty of choices on the menu (they have a Thai food menu as well which you need to ask for). It is not cheap but food was good and good range of drinks.
For a transit hotel it does the job well.

Room Tip: Grand deluxe with balcony overlooking the pool.

Our group had booked this hotel as we were to fly to Phuket early the next morning from Don Muang Airport (Bangkoks former International airport) and as we had arrived late night at Suvarnabhumi Airport - Bangkoks new International Airport - we figured better get the traveling part over with all in one go as Bangkoks traffic can be horrendous in the morning- so we got the free shuttle bus to Don Muang - an interesting ride but that is part of the fun of travel. We saw the skybridge walkway over the motorway to the Amari but we got dropped off at the far end of the airport a distance away so ended up getting 2 taxi cabs as the kids were over it by then.
Check in was quick and the staff were very helpful . We needed an extra rollaway and that was accomodated very quickly .We were delighted to get to our spacious and comfortable rooms before we all went down to the American inspired Henry J Beans Bar & Grill for a late supper - The food was well priced and very tasty with an array of meals and snacks to please every taste. We were all pretty tired and we all slept really well - the rooms were quiet and the curtains could be closed properly to make the room nice and dark - my pet bugbear - unlike many other hotels that we have stayed in that have ill fitting curtains letting light leak in to disturb your slumber. (Make note all you other hotels - try and have curtains that can prevent the light sneaking in !)
Breakfast was superb - although we were hurrying to get to the airport we still were able to enjoy the vast selection in front of us - there were pastries , soups, fruits , Chinese and Asian breakfast selections as well as the mandatory bacon eggs and beans and some Indian dishes.
While we never got to use the pool it looked enticing. Maybe next time.
This is a great hotel to stay for a night or two and the staff are friendly and very helpful.

Room Tip: As with most hotels try and get a room away from the lifts .
