we spent the weekend at the Asia after a week in Hau Hin which is beautiful, the hotel however lacked any service , no atmosphere and the great wall of china chinese restaurant was awful. we were the only ones in there we had no service the food was awful and when we complained we were made to feel very uncomfortable we thought we would get thrown out as a result.
on checkout your held to ransom at the desk which is slow as they check the room for any breakages or heaven forbid you may have had a drink from the mini bar you hadnot declaired.
the roof top pool was good but the beds are old and rickity the top floors looked like they had a refurb unlike the lower floors, the hotel is old fashioned but for £20 a night you were not expecting the Marriott. in the main buffett restaurant Elvis signs nightly miss it at all costs.
in general we liked the room but it lacked in atmosphere and service which wouldnt allow me to reccomend it to anyone else

Room Tip: ask for the higher floors

Asia hotel has recently been refurbished and now it's quite a respectable hotel. The rooms are quite spacious and they now have nice flat screen televisions. Breakfast is good, with an excellent choice of food. If you check around, you can get a room including breakfast for two for under 2000thb, which is excellent value. If your single and you have a room booked at this hotel and you decide to bring someone back to spend the night with you, security will frog march you to the reception to pay for your pleasure. Also, this hotel has a very distinct Chinese influence, your notice a lot of Chinese decor and you will be charged for spilling water on the floor in your room, they will do absolutely anything to extort a little extra cash out of you.

Room Tip: A standard room in this hotel is quite exceptional.

Since January 12, 2012,
My friends and I decided to take the buffet lunch at The Great Wall, Asia Hotel Bangkok because I have got the suggestion from friends, and many reviews in the websites especially my brother who told me this place is so delicious and have the great service.

As my friend, she came back from San Francisco, United States of America.

At 11.15 a.m. we went to this restaurant, we impression about the decoration of their restaurant but at the front, their staff she didn’t making any welcome me and my friends. (So sad, but never mind). We are walked by ourselves to the table and took the order around 10-15 items in their checklist, then waiting for a while about 10-15 minutes, they served their dim-sum but not all of our order. We still waited sometime and they didn’t served it anymore so we decided to take the second order, but this time we waited about 30-45 minutes, they was not served any items, We saw that they didn’t have too much customers, so we have a lot of questions in our head such why they took a long time to cook our order, why they was not say some word to appreciate us and so on.

We waited for a minute until 12.30 p.m., they had the big customers from seminar at the next convention rooms, and for a minute, they served but not all in our orders too but we got 4 items which didn’t take in our order. We decided to return but their staff’s face make me feel bad because they make the strictly face to us. Also the fried dim-sum they were not served, so sad.

After that, we decided to take the third order, which is our last order. We waited about 30 minutes but they were not served too. When 01.00 p.m., we decided to ask their staff for our order that how long we will get our order. They went back to their kitchen and came back to our table with around 3 items of dim-sum and the new order checklist, and told us that our order list is gone and we didn’t have any order inside their kitchen.
Then we were not decided to take new order anymore, and just talked together for 5-10 minutes. They came and served us about 5 items and duck rose 1 item (just look like a junk from their garbage). We ate all of those, then we called their staff to check bill and complain with the manager of their restaurant. But we saw that the attitude of manager didn’t pay attention with our complaint too much, he listened us and acting look like to taking some note but we saw that no note in his paper, and he tried to call their trainee to acknowledge our complaint.

After we paid, we saw that the manager he acted like this, so we decided to complaint with the Mr.Kriengsak Jumaree, Hotel Manager. We waited for him and told him everything it happened. We would like to say thank you for devoting his time and listening our complaint, and we hope that you will improve your service at this restaurant.

P.S. Along the time in restaurant, we saw that they service only the people who dress properly like VIP people.

The best thing about this hotel is the location - it really is directly at the sky train stop and only 1 stop from all the shops - which is what wel wanted.

The rooms are big and clean - it just els like a kind of holiday inn hotel catering to masses of tourists.

There is no free wifi (only hotel in our whole stay in Thailand that didn't have it) and even when Lu bout the expensive wifi you could only use it in the lobby...

All in all - if you just want to go to Bangkokg to shoot this hotel is a good option.

The bellman were really grat but the rest of othe staff were highly average - there was a problem with out flights and reception would not phone the airline for us - really?

We have stayied here 2 times and find it a very reasonably hotel. The prices for stayin there is quite cheap for the rooms, but the restaurants are quite expensive and the internet acces is quite expensive as well.
It is situated by the skytrain, so it is easy to get around Bangkok.
We stayed there i november at the flod time and they were well prepared with sandbags and a boat.
There is 2 swimmingpools. One at the top with a view of Bankok.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floors.
