We were travelling as flashpackers for our trip so splashing out to stay here on our last night really was an extravagence but I am soooo glad that we did. From the moment we checked in there was nothing I could fault. Whilst checking in we dealt with staff with excellent english and were offered complimentary chilled flutes of berry juice to refresh ourselves. Valets handled all our baggage and it was painless (after an initial booking error was resolved). The deluxe standard rooms were actually better than any I have stayed in at the Hilton or Sheraton. The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms were great, service was great. The only fault that I have with the place, is that it is so slick in presentation you could completely forget that you were in Thailand. It is so homogenised and western that I could have been anywhere in the world.
Location - this hotel is attached to MBK shopping mall so it is very conveniently located for that. The Sky train is also attached to the mall so it is easy to get around.
I think we paid about NZ$160 for the one night but it was worth it for the luxury. I don't think I would stay here long term because there are other places that are beautiful and have more character for far less money. But for at least one, possibly two nights to finish off a trip and get all your shopping done in one place, I would definintely consider coming back.

Room Tip: All of the rooms here will be amazing. The higher up you are the better view though.

Stayed at the Pathumwan Princess Hotel for about 4 days. The room was really beyond my expectations, it was very clean and quite spacious. We got a connecting room... However, the little extra beds were quite uncomfortable. The staff were really nice and helpful, especially since I wanted to get a SIM card for international calls!

Best thing about this place... the breakfast was amazingly good..! And the chefs were really nice.. By day 4, they knew my name and even said good morning in chinese! Haha!

Location-wise, the hotel is pretty good.. It's right next to MBK, where you can get lost. And just across the street from Siam Square. You actually don't need to take the BTS over to Siam Paragon, and can even just walk. However, it's not really near CentralWorld or Platinum, if you want to do that strip.

Great place though!

arrived at this hotel on january 10th 2012 , and was well greeted at the hotel reception and excellent check in , the hotel upgraded us for free to a suite , and the suite was amazing , the bed was very comfortable , the sofas were good with 2 x large plasma screens , one in the bedroom and one in the lounge , the hotel pool waas large and there was plenty of sunbeds and towels , breakfast was very good with a wide variety of european , american and far eastern foods to choose from , the main plus also was its own entrance to the mbk shopping centre which my wife found invaluable, the hotel on the whole was an excellent choice in a central location in bangkok that puts you in shot of most landmarks , i would certainly stay here again when in bangkok,.

Beautiful hotel, superb staff, great location! I didnt use the pool as was raining, however we did go shopping!! WOW! Hours later....decided to treat myself to a pamper but hotel stuff quite pricey compared to those on offer a short distance walk away. Be prepared to be hounded by taxi drivers and tuk tuk drivers, they are fun and friendly and a gentle no is enough. Our view was amazing, didnt close the curtains once as it was amazing to wake up too.

Room Tip: if u visit local temples take a wrap (female) for shoulders. Do a long tail boat but HAGGLE!!

I stayed here for the first three nights of a three week Thailand trip.

The rooms are very well furnished with modern decor. In particular the beds were incredibly comfortable and the blinds pull completely closed- perfect when you are jetlagged!

Although the breakfast is pricey (by Thailand standards), i think about 400 baht, it is amazing and worth getting up for! I loved the omelettes, pancakes, fruit and banana milkshakes.

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed 13 nights in a Hotel Suite the bedroom and bathroom are both quite big and very comfortable, nicely decorated. We found the air-conditioning in the room is very cold (& couldn’t adjust anymore) so we had to switch one unit off. Beds are quite firm, depending on what you like, was ok for us. Could do with some drawers in the room. The room came with all the amenities under the sun. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable in this hotel. We have stayed here a number of times and will continue to stay here whilst visiting Bangkok.

We enjoyed the Club Lounge during our stay, it is a nice place to sit back, relax and switch off from busy Bangkok. Staff are excellent, very happy and helpful. Could do with some cheese in the club to enjoy with a glass of wine in the evening and have nights where the food ‘isn’t’ all seafood, for us non eating seafood people!

Breakfast is good, pretty good selection, being a club member we had 3 dining options. In the club, by the pool at Loop Restaurant or City Bistro. We only tried once to get into City bistro and the queue wrapped back around the corner so we gave up and went back to Loop. Friendly staff also at Loop during breakfast.

The pool is big and has one lane sectioned off for kids and people walking laps. Hot and cold Jacuzzi’s are also available by the pool and many different seating options. The attendants controlled the pool well. If you want to use the sauna or steam room they are in the Olympic gym. The day spa in the hotel is expensive, typical at a hotel though and nothing remarkable..

Hotel is easy walking distance to BTS sky train and other shopping centre’s. Easy to catch taxi or tuk tuk to your destination. During evening peak hour when the traffic is heavy, we found taxi drivers will not take you to your destination with the meter on, you are best to offer to agree on a price or you will not get to your destination. The other thing to watch out for, is when you walk out the front of the hotel and down the driveway to the road, don’t catch a tuk tuk from there. Every year we have been the drivers there think they can con you into stopping along the way to your destination to some jewellery place or something so that they can get commission. We walked through MBK on the ground floor near the escalators on the right and caught the tuk tuk from there. Every time we ask “how much to ‘x’ with no stops” we never had an issue there.

We stayed during Christmas and into the New Year, hotel is quite festive over xmas and you can also have your photo taken with "happy" Santa for 100 baht donation to under privileged kids, great initiative!

We look forward to returning to this great hotel on our next trip to Bangkok.
-----------------------------------
* OUTSIDE OF THE HOTEL - Nearby shopping etc..

Fantastic location being connected to MBK shopping centre, there are 8 floors of shopping here and it’s very handy to go in here without having to leave the hotel. There are also 2 supermarkets in here along with pharmacy, money changers, massage etc.. On the ground floor as you enter from the hotel along on the right (maybe half way) there is a ‘drug’ store which is like our pharmacies back home. The only difference here if you describe your symptoms or show photo’s of any condition you cannot present at the counter you will be given medication without a visit to the doctor. We used this drug store a couple of times and what they dispensed was spot on both times and done the trick.

Level 5 of MBK (at the opposite end of the hotel) has a great food court (Fifth Avenue) with high quality food and very clean. We were hooked on the "Thai Fusion" food outlet as the food there was consistently good. They use a card system, as everyone enters Fifth Ave they must take a card and everyone must show the card on the way out, even if you haven’t charged any food or drink to it. Just pass the card over to the outlet vendors and they will charge your meal to the card. Easy system to use.

Tailors.... "Beware" ......................
Do NOT under any circumstance use the Tailor just inside the door on the ground floor of MBK from the hotel on the right hand side called "Loft" Tailor - these guys are crook and cannot tailor if their life depends on it. We asked for something simple, 4 ladies shirts to be copied. One shirt we gave up on as they couldn’t copy it - first time it came back long sleeve was supposed to be 3/4, second time was way too tight - asked for money back was a challenge, then finally after following him around the shopping centre we got the money back, he also tried to give us 200 baht less than what he was supposed to give back. It also took him 5 days to copy this shirt and make 4 of them - absolutely useless - don’t waste your time or money; they have no care for the customers what so ever! He kept telling us you are only next door – not the point we didn’t want to spend our whole holiday going back and fourth to the tailor. The fact they asked for full payment up front should have told us something!

I booked 2 deluxe rooms for 3 nites from 21st to 25th Jan 2012. We were celebrating my parents wedding anniversary and my birthday today... We arrived in Suwarnabhumi Airport on 21st night and we were picked up from the arrival hall by the hotel car. There were 4 of us so its best to get the hotel to pick us up. The arrangement and transfer was hassle free.. Our check-in was a breeze at 11pm. Breakfast is excellent, wide spread and varieties but lack much local food. Only noodles were somewhat Thai. Its more of american breakfast. I hope the hotel will have some additional local delicasies for bfast in the future. Food is the same for the 3 days we stayed there. No change in the d menu. But the breakfast served was really tasty. Advise, be early as the queue gets really long after 8.30am... staff is attentive and quick.
The deluxe rooms are in the corner. spacious, good bed, pillows a ittle on d soft side. generous writing table, large bathroom and with separate shower cubicle. Amenities are perfect. TV channels rather limited. Gym is excellent. Highly recommended. Busy duitng oeak hours but otherwise cool. Pool is busy during the evenings. Nice large pool though. Din have time to try the SPA. I must thank Mr Christoph (GM) for sending a very tasty cheesecake for my parents's anniversary. Thank you very much, They enjoyed it,..it was very thoughtful of the Hotel and I received my chocolate cake on the eve. Thank you. We were given 20% discount for any food ordered in the hotel. The hotel really knows how to make things matter to their Guests. Concierge is good. Staff at lobby is very friendly and alwiz trying to help.
Location is very central. Attached to MBK Mall, Siam Square is just across the road for street shopping. Nearby walking distance malls include Siam Discovery, Siam Paragon. Central is about 20 mins walk. To Jatujak market is 20 to 30 mins with traffic. Food wise, there are many rrestaurants in the MBK Mall or the opposite side at Siam Square... Highly recommended for tthose looking to stay close to a shopping mall.

Room Tip: Deluxe Rooms are spacious.
