“Customer Service !!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2013

Friends had recommended this hotel so we decided to book two rooms for late May, one with a double and one with a twin. The website also has a room upgrade offer so we thought we'd take advantage of that. Unfortunately the hotel responded that they could not guarantee the upgrade or the twin beds, the latter being extremely important.
Anyway, for the past week I have been e-mailing the hotel and received responses with different quotes that are more than their website offer, some include tax, some don't and in most cases I've had to remind them to get back to me after not receiving a response for two days.
The result is that I've asked them to cancel my booking, I've just sent them another e-mail chasing up cancellation confirmation.

Just not good enough !!

Dear jpsoton,

It is with much regret that we learn of your unfortunate customer service experience and that we were not able to meet your expectation during the reservation process causing you to cancel your reservation. This is highly unusual. It is important to note that any special request made at the time of reservation cannot be guaranteed, and late-check out inclusions or free upgrades are all based on an availability basis; this is clearly stated on our website. Your comments did raise some areas of concern, giving us the opportunity to refine our reservation process so that guests like yourself are satisfied from the first point of contact.

Been in this hotel twice for a reason. Hotel is stylish, airy and everythig works. Breakfast is excellent. They make an omelette the way you wish, there are severat juices and fruits, breads and sweets but also ethnic food, all you can hope for. Rooms are big and clean. We had different kind of suites both times. Both worth money and not too expensive. Second time our room had two big rooms, a huge dressing room and huge bathroom. There aren't many tall buildins nearby to block the view. Pool area is on the 8th floor. I think all rooms are above that which makes them quiet. You can sunbathe up around 5.30 pm before sun goes behind another building. There is also 2 smaller pools (jaguzzi) and Italian restaurant by the large pool. Italian is a very nice place to have dinner. If you want to shop until you drop (mainly unexpensive, not original bags and clothes but also some good stuff like phones and jewellery) MBK is next door and you can get there from inside the hotel. All big and stylish shopping malls are within 10 min walk.

Room Tip: There are few huge fans on one side of the hotel which you maid hear at least below floor 15 if you...

Ideally located next to the MBK shopping center and in the heart of Bangkok, people who don't want to waste their time and go shopping directly should go for this hotel. Acceptable rates, spacious rooms, enough beach chairs around a big swimming pool, two heated jacuzzis. Easily accessible with the sky train, though you need to change trains. I was too lazy after a long flight so I took the cab but got stuck in the morning traffic so lost a lot of time. Waste of money too of course... Ride was 450 baht, skytrain is 90 baht...) Breakfast is good, there is enough choice though not the largest but the quality is better than standard and that means something too! We loved the Korean à la carte restaurant, fans of wagyu beef should definitely go for it. For sport lovers, there is a jogging track, boxing space, squash, fitness, table tennis...
And for people who care about their looks, you can even have botox and fillers done at the 8th floor :)

This is one hotel that keeps you out of Bangkok's hot and humid weather as you comfortably cross the hotel to the famous MBK mall without crossing the street. Wonderful location with connections to almost everywhere in BKK. Prices are not budget cheap but well worth the extra US$10 or 20.

Room Tip: Book directly with them to choose the better east side rooms.

I visit Bangkok each year when teaching at the University and am always booked into the Princess. The hotel is a haven in amongst the hot and bustling shopping centres of Bangkok with MBK, Siam Paragon and Central World close by or within 10-15 minutes walk.

Taxis are very quick to order and the door staff will have one for you in less than two minutes. They will also ensure the taxi driver uses the meter! Tuk-tuks line up outside if that's your thing but the air conditioned taxis are cheaper and more comfortable.

The hotel rooms are a good size with a fairly generous bathroom too. Service is very good (if relatively expensive) for room service or any of the several hotel restaurants. Restaurants include Korean (2 of them!), Thai, Indian and Italian - the latter with poolside open-air dining. The rooms are serviced daily, and serviced very well. The lobby area has a pleasant, busy atmosphere but expect to pay western city prices for the coffee and buns.

Breakfast is a highlight at this hotel with lots of different varieties and styles of food from both eastern and western hemespheres. Three or four chefs are on hand to cook items to order, especially at the egg bar.

The swimming pool is large with a wide surrounding area and numerous sun loungers available in under-canopy or parasol settings or completely unshaded. There is also a good fitness room and a beauty/massage therapy room which is - compared with similar services offered in the nearby MBK centre - quite expensive.

In addition to the hotel's restaurants, there are many, many other eating options either within the nearby shopping malls or in the nearby Siam Square. The BTS (Skytrain) station at National Stadium is a five minute walk away through the MBK centre. The stalls here at MBK look as though they should be cheap but in fact they are not. Clothing gets you probably the best deal (once you haggle the price down to about 50% of the intial asking price) but the vast array of electronics on offer are no cheaper than you would pay at home, plus you have the re-assurrance of a guarantee, unlike here where "No Refund" signs are everywhere.

Siam Paragon / Discovery have lots of expensive (and probably genuine) branded designer goods on offer but why come all the way to Thailand to buy a Prada bag that could be picked up in any departure lounge around the world? However, the food court and food market in Paragon is well worth patronising.

I look forward to staying here again in future years.

Great location, connected to the MBK. Also walkable to many other options for shopping and food and site seeing.
The rooms were clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Really, there was nothing I could complain about with the stay. I enjoyed that it was connected to MBK. When you're too tired to go out more (or in my case, I needed to stay indoors for awhile because the smog was making my throat hurt) but don't want to coop up in the room, a stroll through the mall, and maybe stopping for one of the Thai massage services in there is a great option.
